What does holding USDG let you do?
USDG is a dollar-pegged stablecoin for holding or transferring a token intended to track one US dollar. It can be useful when you want to move dollar value on a supported blockchain, settle a crypto transaction, or keep funds in a dollar-denominated token without converting back to bank money for every transaction.
Paxos says USDG is redeemable for US dollars at a one-to-one rate. That does not make it a bank deposit, and a quoted price can still move away from $1 on an exchange. Nor does holding USDG automatically earn interest or give you voting rights: those benefits are not part of the token’s stated purpose. A wallet or platform may offer separate earning products, but their terms and risks are separate from USDG itself.
If you need cash in a bank account, check whether you can access direct redemption or must sell through an exchange. For routine transfers, confirm the recipient supports USDG on the exact same network you plan to use.
Which chains and wallets can hold USDG?
USDG is issued on Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Mantle, Ink, X Layer and Robinhood Chain. It is not the native gas token of these networks: you generally need the network’s own fee token to send USDG. For example, a wallet holding USDG on one chain may not be able to pay that chain’s transaction fee with USDG.
You can store it in a self-custody wallet that supports both the relevant network and USDG, or with a custodian or exchange that lists deposits and withdrawals on that network. Wallet support does not guarantee that a particular exchange supports the same network. Before sending, check the token and network shown on both sides, and verify the token contract address using a trusted official channel. A transfer to an unsupported network or address may be difficult or impossible to recover.
USDG on one chain is not automatically interchangeable with USDG on another. Moving it between networks requires a supported route, such as a service that handles cross-chain transfers; check what mechanism it uses and what fees and risks apply.
How are USDG’s supply and dollar peg maintained?
As of 2026-11-08, USDG’s reported circulating and total supply were both about 2.71 billion tokens, with no maximum supply specified. Its market capitalization was about $2.71 billion and its quoted price was about $1. These are snapshots, not guarantees; supply and market figures can change.
USDG is a fiat-backed stablecoin, not a token with a fixed issuance cap. In this model, new tokens can be issued when dollars or eligible reserve assets support them, and tokens can be removed from circulation when redeemed. Paxos describes USDG as fully redeemable one-to-one for US dollars. Its stated reserve safeguards include segregated reserve assets held on trust for holders, monthly independent attestations and annual reserve audits.
The peg can still trade above or below one dollar, particularly where liquidity is thin or market conditions are stressed. Direct redemption can help support the peg, but do not assume every holder can redeem on demand without meeting Paxos’s account and eligibility requirements. Check current redemption terms before relying on USDG as cash.
How can you get USDG and keep it safely?
You may encounter USDG through a crypto exchange or another service that supports it. Paxos describes one-to-one redemption for US dollars, but direct redemption through Paxos may require an eligible account and may not be available to every holder. Check the provider’s current terms, identity requirements, supported countries and minimums before you rely on that route. A secondary-market sale is different from redemption: the price and execution depend on the venue and available liquidity.
For self-custody, use a wallet compatible with the chain on which your USDG is held. Keep the recovery phrase offline and private, and test a small transfer if you are unfamiliar with the address or network. If you leave USDG with an exchange or other custodian, you rely on that company to safeguard the assets and process withdrawals.
Do not treat a token balance in a wallet as proof that the token is authentic. Check the chain and contract details against a trusted official source before receiving or sending USDG, especially when a platform displays several versions of a token with the same ticker.
What can a USDG transfer or withdrawal cost?
There is no single transfer cost for USDG across all networks. A transaction usually requires that chain’s gas fee, paid in its native fee token; the amount depends on network conditions and the type of transaction. Paxos does not control that network charge. Check the fee estimate in your wallet before confirming, and make sure you have enough of the fee token as well as USDG.
Sending USDG between chains may add a bridge or transfer-service charge. The route may also involve exchange rates, waiting periods or additional contracts. Not every bridge supports every USDG network, and a token representation on another chain may have different risks from the original issuance. Confirm the receiving chain and route before moving funds; do not assume that a low displayed fee means the transfer is risk-free.
For an exchange withdrawal, the platform may charge its own fee or set minimums and processing times. These can differ from the blockchain fee. Review the final withdrawal screen and compare the destination network with the network selected in your receiving wallet.
What could go wrong while you hold USDG?
USDG carries issuer, reserve, redemption and technology risks. Its value depends on the issuer maintaining the reserve and redemption arrangements, and on you being able to access an appropriate redemption or trading route. The intended one-dollar value is not a guarantee that every exchange will quote exactly $1 at every moment. Market stress, reduced liquidity or problems at a service provider can make access harder or push the market price off peg.
Paxos Digital Singapore issues USDG under supervision by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as a Major Payments Institution. In the EU, USDG is issued by Paxos Issuance Europe Oy, an Electronic Money Institution regulated by Finland’s FIN-FSA; USDG is described as compliant with MiCA. Regulation does not remove the possibility of operational failure, cyber incidents, changes in rules or limits on redemption.
You also face chain-specific risks: sending to the wrong network, losing wallet keys, a smart-contract vulnerability, or a bridge failure. Keep only the amount you need on services you understand, and check the issuer’s current reserve disclosures and redemption conditions rather than treating a stablecoin as risk-free cash.
What does USDG’s price history tell you?
USDG’s all-time low in the supplied price history was about $0.91 on 2024-11-11, and its all-time high was $1.65 on 2025-01-29. Those extremes show why a dollar target should not be confused with a guaranteed market price. As of 2026-11-08, the quoted price was about $1; it had changed by about 0.005% over the prior year. Past prices do not establish how well the peg will hold in future conditions.
The available launch date is not specified, so these price points should not be treated as a complete history of the project. For a current view, check the latest price and liquidity on the venue you use, along with issuer disclosures about reserves and redemption. If you already hold USDG, the practical question is whether your chosen wallet or platform can support the chain and whether you have a usable exit route—not just whether the market price currently reads one dollar.

USDG FAQs
Can you redeem USDG for US dollars?
Paxos describes USDG as redeemable for US dollars one-to-one. Direct redemption may require an eligible Paxos account, so check current terms and access requirements; selling on an exchange is not the same as redeeming with the issuer.
Which networks support USDG?
USDG is issued on Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Mantle, Ink, X Layer and Robinhood Chain. Make sure your wallet and the recipient support USDG on the same network before sending.
Is USDG always worth exactly one dollar?
No. USDG is designed to track one US dollar, but its market price can move above or below that level. Redemption and reserve arrangements are intended to support the peg, but they do not eliminate market or issuer risk.
What fees do you pay to send USDG?
You generally need the chain’s native fee token to pay gas when transferring USDG. A bridge or exchange withdrawal can add separate charges, and costs vary by network and service.
Is USDG risk-free?
USDG is a stablecoin, not a bank deposit, and it still has issuer, redemption, liquidity, wallet and blockchain risks. Check the issuer’s current reserve disclosures and make sure you have a practical way to access or transfer your funds.
