Owning DEEP: Uses, Storage and Risks
DEEP is DeepBook’s Sui-based trading and governance token. Before using it, check which features are live, how the app handles fees and margin, and whether your wallet supports Sui.

What can you use DEEP for?
DEEP is the token used within DeepBook, Sui’s on-chain central limit order book. DeepBook provides shared trading infrastructure that other Sui applications can connect to; it is not a standalone exchange with a separate pool of liquidity. Its spot market matches orders on-chain, while its margin feature allows leveraged positions using the shared pool. DEEP is used for trading fees and can provide fee discounts and maker rebates through staking. It also supports governance voting. Check the terms of the specific application you use: available markets, fee arrangements and access can differ between integrations. DeepBook’s Predict feature is on testnet, so don’t assume it is available for live trading. DEEP does not give you ownership of DeepBook or a guaranteed share of its revenue. Its usefulness depends in part on whether Sui applications integrate the protocol and traders use those markets.
Which chain does DEEP use, and what do you need?
DEEP is issued on Sui. It is a token used by DeepBook, not the native gas token of the Sui blockchain. Sui transactions generally require SUI for network gas, so holding DEEP alone may not be enough to move it or interact with a Sui application. Before sending DEEP, confirm that the receiving wallet or exchange supports the Sui version of the token; a matching ticker on another network is not sufficient. When using a DeepBook-connected app, check that it is operating on Sui and that the market you want is live. DeepBook’s orders settle on-chain in Sui transactions, while its margin positions are also described as opening, executing and closing in a single transaction. That design does not remove blockchain risks, and the token’s Sui-specific use means it may be less convenient if you mainly use other networks.
How much DEEP exists, and could more enter circulation?
As of November 8, 2026, DEEP has a stated maximum and total supply of 10 billion tokens, with 2.5 billion circulating. That leaves 7.5 billion outside the circulating amount, so future releases could increase the number of tokens available in the market. A fixed maximum supply does not prevent price swings or guarantee demand. If you hold DEEP for a longer period, check the project’s current token allocation and release information rather than assuming that the circulating amount will stay unchanged. The circulating figure is also not the same as the amount available to trade at any one time: tokens may be held, staked or otherwise not offered for sale. Consider supply changes alongside real use of DeepBook, including integrations and trading activity, rather than treating the cap as a measure of value.
How should you store DEEP safely?
To store DEEP yourself, choose a wallet that explicitly supports Sui assets, then confirm the network and token before receiving funds. Keep a small amount of SUI in that wallet if you need to pay for Sui transaction gas. Write down your recovery phrase offline and store it somewhere private; anyone who obtains it may be able to control your assets. Never share it with a person or website claiming to help you claim, stake or unlock DEEP. For a transfer, verify the recipient address and, if practical, send a small test amount first. If you keep DEEP on an exchange, the exchange controls the keys and withdrawal access depends on its own rules. A hardware wallet may reduce exposure to online key theft, but check that its software supports Sui and that you understand its recovery process before moving funds.
What risks should you check before holding or using DEEP?
DEEP can lose value sharply, and a smaller circulating supply than the maximum does not prevent dilution as additional tokens enter circulation. DeepBook also depends on the Sui network and on developers and traders continuing to use its order-book infrastructure. Smart-contract or wallet vulnerabilities, network disruption, thin market liquidity and mistakes when sending tokens can all put your funds at risk. Margin trading adds the possibility of liquidation: leverage can magnify losses, and a position may be closed under the protocol’s rules. Check the collateral, liquidation terms and fees in the application before using margin. Don’t treat testnet features as live markets, and don’t assume that every Sui app offers the same markets or protections. Use only funds you can afford to lose, and verify token details and transaction prompts before signing.
By the numbers
DeepBook in numbers
DeepBook (DEEP) is ranked #560 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $35.8M and a price of $0.0143 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $143M, so roughly 25% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 9.6% over 7 days, down 29.5% over 30 days, down 79.3% over the past year. It trades about 96% below its all-time high of $0.3411, set on Jan 18, 2025.
About 2.5B DEEP are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 10B (25% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $1.46M, or 4.1% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
DEEP has token contracts on Sui. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
DEEP is linked to DeepBook V3, which we cover in our DEXes rankings. See our DeepBook V3 page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

DEEP FAQs
What is DEEP used for?
DEEP is used for trading fees, fee discounts and maker rebates through staking, and governance voting. The terms and available features can depend on the DeepBook-connected application you use.
Is DEEP a Sui token?
DEEP is issued on Sui. It is not the Sui network’s gas token, so you may need SUI to pay transaction fees when moving or using DEEP.
What is the maximum supply of DEEP?
As of November 8, 2026, the stated maximum and total supply is 10 billion DEEP, with 2.5 billion circulating. The circulating amount may change as tokens are released.
Which wallet can hold DEEP?
Use a wallet that explicitly supports Sui assets, and confirm the network and token before receiving DEEP. Keep your recovery phrase offline and private; you may also need SUI for transaction gas.
Can you trade prediction markets with DEEP?
DeepBook’s Predict feature is on testnet, so it should not be treated as an available live market. Check the specific app for live markets, fees, access and any margin liquidation rules.
What is the market cap of DeepBook?
As of Nov 8, 2026, DeepBook had a market cap of about $35.8M, ranking #560 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of DEEP?
DeepBook's all-time high is $0.3411, reached on Jan 18, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.0107 (Oct 14, 2024). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of DEEP?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 2.5B DEEP were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 10B.
Which blockchains is DEEP on?
It has token contracts on Sui.
