## What does holding RE let you do?

RE is the governance token of Re Protocol. Holding it gives you a role in protocol governance, not direct control over insurance operations or a claim on reinsurance profits. Governance covers protocol upgrades, technical permissions, committee formation, reporting standards, incentive policy and governance procedures.

Qualified professionals and licensed insurance entities retain responsibility for underwriting, pricing, claims, reserves and regulated operations. That distinction matters: owning RE does not make you an insurer, policyholder or reinsurance investor, and it does not give you a vote on every commercial or insurance decision.

Before relying on RE for any particular right, check the current governance rules and proposal process. The project description does not establish that holding a certain amount guarantees voting power, committee membership, or a share of revenue. Treat RE as a governance token unless Re publishes specific, enforceable rights beyond that role.

## Which chain and wallet can hold RE?

RE is issued on Ethereum; it is not listed as the native token of a separate chain. If you hold it yourself, use an Ethereum-compatible wallet that supports ERC-20 tokens. Check the token contract address against an official Re Protocol channel before sending funds or adding the token to a wallet: similarly named tokens can exist.

The project description says blockchain infrastructure makes collateral, reserves and selected operating data verifiable onchain. That does not mean every insurance record or decision is public, or that wallet software can verify the quality of underwriting. Re describes its business as connecting eligible capital providers with fully collateralized reinsurance conducted through licensed entities.

A wallet address on Ethereum is not the same as an account with Re Protocol, and holding RE does not establish that you are eligible to provide capital to reinsurance activity. Eligibility and any separate participation terms should be checked with the protocol and the relevant regulated entity.

## How much RE exists, and what can move its value?

RE has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. About 159.6 million were circulating as of November 8, 2026, with a total supply of 1 billion. The difference between circulating and total supply means the full amount was not counted as circulating on that date; it does not by itself explain when or how remaining tokens may enter circulation. Re has not published a release schedule alongside these supply figures.

As of November 8, 2026, RE traded at about $0.29, with a market capitalization near $46.6 million and fully diluted valuation near $292.1 million. These figures move, and the fully diluted valuation is a calculation based on maximum supply, not money held by the project or a forecast. The recorded all-time high was about $1.08 on June 20, 2026; the all-time low was about $0.29 on November 8, 2026.

Supply and market figures do not show whether governance will be effective or whether reinsurance activity will perform well. Check current circulating supply and token distribution before drawing conclusions.

## How can you hold RE without confusing it with reinsurance?

You can generally hold an Ethereum token in a compatible self-custody wallet or through a service that supports RE. Availability depends on the platform and your location. Re does not identify a specific exchange or custody provider in its project description, so confirm the asset, network and contract address directly with any service before transferring tokens.

For self-custody, protect your recovery phrase offline and never share it with someone claiming they need it to unlock RE or grant governance rights. A wrong network or token contract can leave funds inaccessible, and transactions sent to the wrong address are usually difficult or impossible to reverse. With a custodian, you rely on that provider to safeguard the tokens and honor withdrawals.

Holding RE does not automatically enroll you in reinsurance activity or make you an eligible capital provider. Review the governance rules and any separate participation requirements rather than assuming the token carries financial or insurance benefits.

## What does it cost to move RE?

Moving RE on Ethereum requires a network transaction fee, commonly called gas. The fee is paid for processing the transaction and can change with network demand; it is separate from any service charge imposed by a wallet, exchange or other provider. Re does not publish a fixed transfer fee in its project description, and an Ethereum transaction can cost more or less depending on network conditions.

If you move RE through a service, check whether it supports Ethereum deposits and withdrawals for this specific token. Do not assume that a token with the same ticker on another network is interchangeable. A bridge can introduce additional steps, fees and smart-contract or operator risks. The project description does not identify an official bridge for RE, so verify support before considering any cross-chain transfer.

For a transfer, check the destination address, network and token contract, then review the estimated fee before confirming. A low displayed fee does not remove the risk of sending to an incompatible destination.

## What risks should you check before holding RE?

RE combines crypto-token risks with exposure to a protocol connected to regulated insurance activity. The token's governance role is limited by the responsibilities Re assigns to qualified professionals and licensed entities. A vote on protocol rules does not guarantee control over underwriting, claims, reserve decisions or regulated operations, and onchain visibility into selected data is not a guarantee that the underlying activity will be profitable or free of loss.

The token is also exposed to market volatility, liquidity constraints, changes in governance participation and possible shifts in token supply. Smart-contract, wallet, custody and operational failures can cause losses. The project description does not establish whether RE has been independently audited; do not treat the presence of onchain data as proof of an audit or a safety guarantee.

Before holding or transferring RE, check the live contract address, current governance rules, token distribution and any applicable legal restrictions. Do not commit funds you cannot afford to lose.

## What is known about Re Protocol's history and model?

Re is described as an internet-native marketplace for insurance capital, connecting eligible capital providers with fully collateralized reinsurance activity carried out through licensed insurance entities. Its use of blockchain is intended to make collateral, reserves and selected operating data verifiable onchain. The project description does not give a launch date or a detailed history of the protocol, so there is no basis here for a fuller timeline.

RE's stated role is governance: tokenholders can participate in decisions about upgrades, permissions, committees, reporting standards, incentives and governance procedures. It is not described as a share of an insurer, a policy, or a guaranteed yield instrument. Search-result claims about staking, rewards or transactions should not be treated as established token rights unless Re's current documentation confirms them.

For a decision about RE, keep the token and the underlying insurance activity separate. Review the specific governance proposal or participation terms that apply to you, and confirm whether any regulated entity's rules affect your eligibility.

By the numbers

RE in numbers

RE (RE) is ranked #459 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $46.6M and a price of $0.2921 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $292M, so roughly 16% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 18.7% over 7 days, down 33.2% over 30 days. It trades about 73% below its all-time high of $1.08, set on Jun 20, 2026.

About 159.6M RE are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (16% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $7.61M, or 16% of its market cap: high turnover.

RE has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups RE under Real-world asset (RWA) tokens, Governance tokens.
