What is BAND used for?
BAND is the token used by Band Protocol, a blockchain oracle network that delivers external data to blockchain applications. A DeFi app, for example, may need price information from outside its own chain; oracle networks help supply that information so smart contracts can use it.
BAND has several roles in the network. It can be staked by validators and their delegators to help secure BandChain, used for network fees and data requests, and used in protocol governance. These functions tie the token to how the network operates, but they do not guarantee demand or value. A data request may also involve fees and technical steps that differ from simply holding BAND in a wallet.
If you hold BAND, check which network your tokens are on before sending or staking them. Tokens with the same ticker on different chains are not necessarily interchangeable without a compatible bridge or exchange.
Which networks can you hold BAND on?
BAND is associated with BandChain, the network where the protocol’s oracle and staking functions operate. It is also issued on Ethereum, Fantom and Osmosis. Those versions may be represented as tokens on their respective networks, so choosing the right chain matters when you deposit, withdraw or transfer BAND.
Before sending, compare the withdrawal network shown by your exchange with the receiving wallet’s supported network. For a self-custody wallet, check that it supports the specific chain and token version you intend to hold; support for Ethereum tokens does not automatically mean support for BandChain or Osmosis. If you are using a bridge, confirm that it supports the exact token and destination network, and understand that bridging introduces additional smart-contract and operational risks.
Do not rely on the ticker alone. Check the asset and network details in your wallet or exchange, and make a small test transfer if the service permits it. A transfer sent using an incompatible network may be difficult or impossible to recover.
How many BAND tokens are there?
BAND’s reported circulating supply was about 185.23 million tokens as of 2026-11-08. Total supply was also about 185.23 million, so the reported circulating and total amounts were nearly the same on that date. These figures can change as tokens move between categories or the supply changes.
No fixed maximum supply is listed. That means you should not assume the circulating amount is a hard cap on all tokens that could exist. Staking and governance are token uses, but they do not by themselves establish a fixed supply limit or ensure that the token’s value will rise.
Supply is only one part of assessing BAND. It does not tell you how much network activity exists, how oracle demand may develop, or how much of the token is actively available to trade. Market prices and trading activity also move: treat any quoted value as a dated snapshot, not a stable measure of what you can sell for later.
How can you store or stake BAND safely?
Choose a wallet based on the network holding your BAND. A wallet that supports ERC-20 assets may be suitable for an Ethereum version, while BAND on BandChain or Osmosis needs a wallet that supports that network and token. Wallet compatibility can change, so confirm support inside the wallet before depositing or transferring.
For self-custody, back up the recovery phrase offline and keep it private. Never share it with someone claiming they need it to verify, migrate or unlock your tokens. Use a device you trust, keep wallet software updated, and check the destination address and network before confirming a transaction. Consider a hardware wallet if it supports the relevant network and fits your needs.
If you stake BAND, review the current delegation, unbonding and validator rules first. Staked tokens may not be immediately available to transfer, and validator-related penalties may apply under network rules. An exchange may offer custody or staking, but then you rely on that provider’s security and withdrawal policies rather than controlling the keys yourself.
What risks should you weigh before holding BAND?
BAND carries the risks of a volatile crypto asset as well as risks specific to oracle infrastructure. Its market price can move sharply, and a token’s role in staking, governance or paying for data does not guarantee that users will need it at a particular level. Trading liquidity can also vary across exchanges and networks.
Oracle systems depend on data sources, software, validators and the applications that consume their outputs. Incorrect, delayed or unavailable data can affect a blockchain application even if the underlying chain continues to run. BandChain, bridges and token contracts may also face technical failures or security incidents. If you delegate BAND, the validator you choose and the network’s staking rules can affect your position.
Before using BAND, check the network, custody arrangement and any staking conditions you are accepting. Do not treat past prices or a project’s stated use cases as a forecast. Only commit funds you can afford to lose, and keep enough unstaked assets for fees or other needs.
By the numbers
Band in numbers
Band (BAND) is ranked #587 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $33.4M and a price of $0.1806 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($33.4M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 7.6% over 7 days, down 20.6% over 30 days, down 64.1% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $22.83, set on Apr 15, 2021.
About 185.23M BAND are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $752K, or 2.2% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
BAND has token contracts on 3 chains we track, including Ethereum, Fantom, Osmosis. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

BAND FAQs
What is BAND used for?
BAND is used for staking and governance on Band Protocol, and for network fees and data requests. Its use in those functions does not guarantee market demand or a particular token value.
Which blockchain is BAND on?
BAND is associated with BandChain and is also issued on Ethereum, Fantom and Osmosis. Check the network shown in your wallet or exchange before transferring, because the same ticker can refer to tokens on different chains.
What is the supply of BAND?
About 185.23 million BAND were reported in both circulating and total supply as of 2026-11-08. No fixed maximum supply is listed, and supply figures can change.
How do I store BAND safely?
Use a wallet that supports the specific network where your BAND is held. Back up your recovery phrase offline, never share it, and verify the destination address and network before sending.
Can you stake BAND?
Staking can help secure the network, but it may make tokens unavailable for a period and validator-related penalties may apply under network rules. Check current delegation and unbonding terms before committing tokens.
What is the market cap of Band?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Band had a market cap of about $33.4M, ranking #587 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of BAND?
Band's all-time high is $22.83, reached on Apr 15, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.1368 (Jul 1, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of BAND?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 185.23M BAND were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.
Which blockchains is BAND on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum, Fantom, Osmosis.
