## What does UMA let you do?

UMA is the governance and dispute-resolution token for UMA, a protocol that builds financial contracts and oracle tools for decentralized finance. Its “priceless” contract design aims to reduce how often a contract needs on-chain price data; it does not remove oracle use entirely. When a contract interaction is disputed, UMA token holders can help resolve the price request through the Data Verification Mechanism (DVM).

UMA has also been used to support synthetic tokens, which are designed to track the value of other assets. The token’s stated roles are governance and resolving disputes—not representing ownership of an asset or a guaranteed claim on protocol revenue. Holding UMA alone does not mean you are actively voting or taking part in dispute resolution; those activities require the relevant participation and understanding of the protocol’s rules.

## Which networks and wallets support UMA?

UMA is issued on Ethereum and Avalanche; it is not the native coin of a separate UMA blockchain. Before sending or receiving it, check which network the token is on and confirm that your wallet and the receiving platform support that same network. A transfer to an incompatible network or address may be difficult or impossible to recover.

You can use a self-custody wallet that supports the relevant network, or keep UMA with a crypto service that lists it. In a self-custody wallet, you control the recovery phrase and are responsible for keeping it private and backed up. A wallet may not display a token automatically, so confirm the token identity and network before adding it. Do not rely on a token name or ticker alone: unrelated tokens can use the same name. Check the official contract details through trusted project channels before making a transaction.

## Is UMA’s supply capped?

As of 2026-11-08, UMA had about 91.9 million tokens circulating and about 131.8 million in total supply. A maximum supply figure is not specified, so do not assume the total supply is a hard cap. Supply figures can change, and the circulating amount may not include every token that could eventually become available.

The token’s role in governance and dispute resolution does not make its market value stable. Its price can move sharply, and a market listing or wallet balance does not guarantee that you can sell or transfer at a particular price. If you are comparing amounts, check current figures and the correct network immediately before acting; older price and market-cap snapshots can quickly become misleading.

## What should you check before storing or using UMA?

UMA’s main risks include the possibility of smart-contract flaws, oracle disputes being resolved incorrectly, and changes to the protocol through governance. The DVM is part of the system’s approach to disputed data, but it is not a guarantee that every outcome will be correct or that the protocol will avoid losses. UMA’s design seeks to reduce routine reliance on price feeds, yet some contract interactions still depend on dispute resolution.

For storage, use a wallet with strong security, keep your recovery phrase offline, and never share it with someone claiming they need it to help with a transfer or vote. Check the network and recipient address carefully, and consider sending a small test amount first. Treat messages asking you to connect your wallet, sign an unfamiliar transaction, or claim guaranteed UMA rewards with caution. Holding the token does not guarantee income or a return.

By the numbers

UMA (UMA) is ranked #651 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $29.5M and a price of $0.3206 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $42.3M, so roughly 70% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 5.4% over 7 days, down 18.7% over 30 days, down 71.0% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $41.56, set on Feb 4, 2021.

About 91.89M UMA are in circulation, from a total supply of 131.79M. No hard maximum supply is listed.

24-hour trading volume was about $1.56M, or 5.3% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

UMA has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, Avalanche. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

UMA FAQs

What is the UMA token used for?

UMA is the token used for governance and for participating in dispute resolution through the DVM. It does not represent a guaranteed share of protocol revenue.

What blockchain is UMA on?

UMA is issued on Ethereum and Avalanche. Confirm the network on both sides of a transfer, since sending tokens to an unsupported network can lead to loss.

How many UMA tokens are there?

As of 2026-11-08, about 91.9 million UMA were circulating and about 131.8 million were in total supply. A maximum supply figure is not specified.

How do I store UMA safely?

You can store UMA in a self-custody wallet that supports the network holding your tokens, or with a crypto service that lists UMA. Keep your recovery phrase private and verify the token and network before sending.

Does holding UMA earn rewards?

No. UMA’s stated uses are governance and dispute resolution; simply holding it does not guarantee rewards or income. Be cautious of anyone promising a fixed return for holding or staking it.

What is the market cap of UMA?

As of Nov 8, 2026, UMA had a market cap of about $29.5M, ranking #651 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of UMA?

UMA's all-time high is $41.56, reached on Feb 4, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.3036 (Apr 29, 2020). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of UMA?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 91.89M UMA were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.

Which blockchains is UMA on?

It has token contracts on Ethereum, Avalanche.
