Owning ORAI: Uses, Storage and Risks

ORAI is the token associated with Oraichain, a blockchain project built around AI-related data services and oracles. The network is designed to connect AI APIs with smart contracts, with tools including an AI API marketplace and services for data requests and publishing. Oraichain describes ORAI as a token used to pay transaction fees on its network. That gives it a network-use role; it does not mean every AI service in the ecosystem must use ORAI or that holding the token guarantees access to a particular product.

If you are considering ORAI, distinguish the token’s practical uses from claims about the broader AI sector. Check which Oraichain applications are active, whether they require ORAI, and what fees or other conditions apply before sending tokens. A project’s technical purpose does not establish demand for its token or make its value predictable.

ORAI is issued on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana and Osmosis, as well as being used for fees on the Oraichain network. These are separate networks: a token sent to an address on the wrong chain may not arrive in a form your wallet or exchange can use. Check the deposit network selected by the receiving service and make sure it matches the network used to send ORAI.

Use a wallet that explicitly supports the chain and token version you hold. Before transferring a large amount, confirm the token contract or asset details against Oraichain’s official materials and your wallet or exchange, then consider a small test transfer. Bridged or wrapped tokens can depend on bridge contracts and may not have identical risks to the network’s native token. Do not rely on the ticker alone: unrelated assets can share a symbol, and a familiar-looking token listing is not proof that it is genuine.

Prices, trading activity and supply metrics can change, and smaller markets can be more sensitive to large orders or limited liquidity. If you are checking a quote, confirm its timestamp and the exchange or network it describes rather than treating an old figure as current.

Choose storage based on the network holding your ORAI. A self-custody wallet gives you control of the private keys, but also makes you responsible for protecting them and selecting the right network for each transfer. A hardware wallet can keep keys offline; a software wallet may be more convenient for regular use. In either case, confirm that the wallet supports the specific ORAI version you own before sending tokens to it.

Keep your recovery phrase offline and private. Before using a marketplace, oracle service or connected application, check the specific fees, permissions and security information for that product. Keep only the amount you can afford to lose, protect your recovery phrase, and be wary of unsolicited offers or messages asking you to connect a wallet or approve a transaction.
