Owning PEPECOIN: Uses, Storage and Risks

PepeCoin (PEPECOIN) is a meme token based on Pepe the Frog, with a project goal of adding uses beyond its meme identity. The project describes a community focused on events and says it is developing a game intended as an interactive Web3 social platform. That is a stated development goal, not a guarantee that the game is available or that the token will be needed to use it.

The token’s history includes an initial launch on its own blockchain in March 2016, followed by a migration to Ethereum. Current chain information also lists a Solana-issued version. That history matters if you are checking an old balance or transferring tokens: versions on different networks are not automatically interchangeable.

Treat PEPECOIN primarily as a volatile crypto asset, not as a claim on a business or a guaranteed way to access a game. Before using it for any project feature, check which network and token version that feature supports and whether the feature is actually live.

PEPECOIN is listed as issued on Ethereum and Solana. Choose a wallet that supports the network holding your tokens: an Ethereum-compatible wallet for the Ethereum version, or a Solana-compatible wallet for the Solana version. A wallet address or token balance on one network does not mean you can receive the other version at that same address.
