What does RARE let you do on SuperRare?
RARE is the token associated with SuperRare, a curated marketplace for digital art on Ethereum. The marketplace is used to buy and sell digital artworks represented as NFTs. RARE’s stated role includes governance: holders can vote on independent gallery spaces and contribute to decisions about art discovery.
Holding RARE is not the same as owning an artwork. It does not, by itself, give you copyright, ownership of a particular NFT, or a guaranteed share of marketplace revenue. Don’t assume that holding the token earns rewards or reduces trading fees unless SuperRare’s current terms say so. If you’re considering RARE for its governance role, check what proposals are open and what voting rights apply before acquiring it. If you’re using SuperRare to trade art, check the current transaction terms separately from the token’s uses.
Which network and wallet should you use for RARE?
RARE is issued on Ethereum, so check that your wallet is set to Ethereum when you receive or send the Ethereum token. A self-custody wallet that supports Ethereum tokens can hold it; a hardware wallet can keep signing keys offline while you use a compatible wallet interface. Never rely on a token name or ticker alone to identify an asset: confirm the contract address through SuperRare’s official channels before transferring funds.
SuperRare’s multichain materials also mention Base. That does not mean every token shown as RARE on another network is automatically the same asset or can be sent directly to an Ethereum address. Before using a bridge or buying a network-specific version, check the supported network, contract and redemption process. Sending tokens on the wrong network, or to a wallet that cannot access that network, can make them difficult or impossible to recover. You’ll also need the network’s native coin to pay transaction fees.
How much RARE exists, and what does the cap mean?
RARE has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. As of November 8, 2026, about 820.4 million were circulating, with 1 billion listed as the total supply. Circulating supply can change over time, so check current figures before relying on them. The maximum supply is a cap, not a statement that every token is currently available to trade.
Supply figures do not tell you how much voting influence you’ll have in practice. That depends on the governance rules and how voting power is counted for a proposal. Nor does a capped supply guarantee demand or value: RARE can still lose value, and the amount available to trade can affect how easily you can buy or sell. If you’re looking at the token as a way to participate in SuperRare governance, read the current proposal and voting rules rather than treating supply numbers as a measure of influence.
How can you store RARE without losing access?
For self-custody, keep your recovery phrase offline and private. Anyone who gets it may be able to take your RARE and other assets, and a wallet provider generally cannot restore access if you lose it. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure of your signing keys, but it will not protect you if you approve a malicious transaction or reveal your recovery phrase.
Before sending RARE, confirm the network and recipient address, and consider a small test transfer when appropriate. Read wallet prompts carefully: token approvals can allow a contract to move assets, so avoid granting broad permissions to sites you don’t trust. Keep a separate record of which wallet holds RARE and how you’ll recover it, without storing the phrase in email, cloud notes or screenshots. If you leave tokens with an exchange, you depend on that company to safeguard them and allow withdrawals; custody arrangements and withdrawal access can change.
What could go wrong when you hold or use RARE?
RARE carries the usual risks of a volatile crypto asset. Its market price can move sharply, and you may not be able to sell quickly at the price you expect. A token’s governance role also depends on participation and project rules; voting rights do not guarantee that a proposal will pass or that a decision will produce a particular result.
There are risks beyond price. A mistaken transfer, compromised wallet, malicious approval or bridge failure can lead to losses. SuperRare’s marketplace and the NFTs traded there have separate risks: an NFT’s value, authenticity claims and ability to resell are not guaranteed by holding RARE. Treat marketplace fees, wallet requirements and custody as separate checks before you transact. Use only money you can afford to lose, and verify token contracts and network support before moving funds. Don’t interpret past prices or a token supply cap as a promise of future performance.

SuperRare in numbers
SuperRare (RARE) is ranked #1,271 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $9.41M and a price of $0.0115 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $11.5M, so roughly 82% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 8.3% over 7 days, down 30.5% over 30 days, down 66.2% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $3.64, set on Oct 10, 2021.
About 820.45M RARE are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (82% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $4.10M, or 44% of its market cap: very high turnover.
RARE has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

RARE FAQs
What is the RARE token used for?
RARE is used for governance associated with SuperRare, including votes on independent gallery spaces. Holding the token does not itself give you ownership of an NFT or a share of marketplace revenue.
Is RARE an Ethereum token?
RARE is issued on Ethereum and can be held in a wallet that supports Ethereum tokens. SuperRare materials also mention Base, so verify the network and the specific token contract before receiving or transferring any version on another chain.
What is the maximum supply of RARE?
As of November 8, 2026, about 820.4 million RARE were circulating. The maximum and total supply are listed as 1 billion tokens; circulating figures may change.
How do I store RARE safely?
Use a wallet that supports the relevant network, keep your recovery phrase offline and private, and check the token contract before sending. A hardware wallet can protect signing keys, but it cannot prevent losses if you approve a malicious transaction or expose your recovery phrase.
Does owning RARE mean I own SuperRare art?
No. RARE is a token, while SuperRare artworks are separate NFTs. Holding RARE does not automatically give you an artwork, copyright or other rights to a specific piece.
What is the market cap of SuperRare?
