## What can you do with Indigo iUSD?
iUSD is a Cardano stablecoin designed to track the U.S. dollar. Its target is based on the median value of USDC, TUSD and USDT, so a depeg in one of those stablecoins is not meant to move iUSD’s reference price by itself. That design can help reduce reliance on any one reference asset, but it does not guarantee a dollar peg.
You can buy iUSD on a Cardano decentralized exchange, or mint it through Indigo Protocol by locking ADA as collateral. Holding iUSD may suit you if you want dollar-linked value within Cardano’s DeFi ecosystem, but it is not the same as holding dollars in a bank account. Its price can move away from $1, and its value depends on the protocol and the assets used in its pricing design.
If you mint iUSD, you take on a collateralized debt position rather than simply buying a token. Indigo says ADA used as collateral can continue earning stake-pool rewards while it is in a position.
## Which wallet and chain can you use for iUSD?
iUSD is issued on Cardano as a native asset. To hold or transfer it, use a Cardano wallet that supports native tokens and lets you verify the asset you are receiving. A token name or ticker alone is not enough to confirm that an asset is the genuine iUSD; check its identifying details through Indigo’s official channels before accepting a transfer.
You can also access iUSD through Cardano decentralized exchanges or Indigo Protocol. Cardano transaction fees are generally paid in ADA, so keep some ADA available for transfers and other on-chain actions. If you are sending iUSD to another wallet, confirm that the destination supports Cardano assets and check the receiving address and network carefully. Sending it through a different chain or to an incompatible address could make it inaccessible.
For self-custody, protect your wallet’s recovery phrase offline and never share it with someone claiming to help you mint, trade or recover iUSD. A wallet does not remove the risks of the token or protocol; it only controls access to your on-chain assets.
## How much iUSD exists, and is its dollar peg guaranteed?
As of 2026-11-08, about 9.52 million iUSD were circulating, matching the reported total supply. No maximum supply is specified. Supply can change as users mint or repay iUSD through Indigo, so treat any figure as a dated snapshot rather than a fixed cap. The reported market capitalization was about $9.5 million on that date.
The peg is a target, not a promise that you can always exchange one iUSD for one U.S. dollar. The median pricing design is intended to soften the effect of one reference stablecoin losing its peg, but several reference assets moving sharply or problems in the protocol could still affect iUSD. Market liquidity also matters: a thin market can make it harder to trade at the target price, especially during stress.
Before relying on iUSD for a payment or as a place to hold value, check its current market price and the depth of the market you plan to use. A quoted price near $1 does not ensure you can sell your amount at that price.
## What could go wrong when you hold or mint iUSD?
If you mint iUSD, your ADA collateral must remain above the applicable Minimum Collateralization Ratio (MCR). A fall in ADA’s value can bring your position closer to that threshold. Indigo says you can add collateral, but if the position falls below the MCR, Stability Pool providers can exchange iUSD for the position’s ADA collateral. You may keep the iUSD, but you lose the collateral used in that process.
The Indigo DAO can vote to change the MCR, so the rules affecting a position can change through governance. Buying iUSD avoids managing a collateral position, but you still face price, liquidity, smart-contract and governance risks common to DeFi. A stablecoin peg can also weaken, and no wallet can protect you from a protocol failure or a mistaken transfer.
If you choose to hold iUSD, use a Cardano wallet you control, keep your recovery phrase private and test a small transfer before moving a larger amount. If you mint, monitor your collateral ratio and understand how liquidation works before opening a position.
By the numbers
Indigo Protocol iUSD in numbers
Indigo Protocol iUSD (IUSD) is ranked #1,269 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $9.47M and a price of $0.9944 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($9.47M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was up 0.8% over 7 days, down 0.2% over 30 days, down 1.9% over the past year. It trades about 54% below its all-time high of $2.16, set on Jul 20, 2026.
About 9.52M IUSD are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $7.01K, or 0.1% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
IUSD has token contracts on Cardano. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

IUSD FAQs
Is Indigo iUSD always worth one dollar?
iUSD is designed to track the U.S. dollar using the median value of USDC, TUSD and USDT. This design may reduce dependence on any one reference stablecoin, but it does not guarantee that iUSD will always trade at $1.
What blockchain is iUSD on?
iUSD is issued on Cardano as a native asset. You need a Cardano wallet that supports native tokens to receive and hold it.
How do you get iUSD?
You can buy iUSD on a Cardano decentralized exchange or mint it through Indigo Protocol by depositing ADA as collateral. Minting creates a collateralized debt position that you need to keep above the required MCR.
What is the supply of iUSD?

If a minted position falls below its Minimum Collateralization Ratio, Stability Pool providers can exchange iUSD for the ADA collateral. You may retain the iUSD, but the collateral in that position can be lost.
What is the market cap of Indigo Protocol iUSD?
