## What does SANC do?
SANC is the token associated with Sanctum, a Solana liquid-staking project that offers validator liquid staking tokens (LSTs). That does not mean SANC itself is the receipt you get for staking SOL: an LST represents a position in a particular staking pool, while SANC is a separate token. Holding SANC alone should not be treated as depositing SOL, earning validator rewards, or receiving an LST.
SANC is classified as a governance token, but Sanctum does not specify what voting rights, proposals, or other holder entitlements it carries. Check Sanctum’s current token documentation and governance process before valuing SANC on the assumption that it gives you control or benefits. If your goal is Solana staking exposure, compare each LST pool’s fees, yield, liquidity, and validator risks instead of assuming SANC provides those features. A governance label does not promise cash flow or particular rights.
## Which wallets and network can hold SANC?
SANC is issued on Solana; it is not reported as the native coin of a separate chain. To hold it, use a wallet that supports Solana tokens and verify the token’s mint address against Sanctum’s official channels before receiving, swapping, or adding it manually. Tickers are not unique, and a fake token can copy SANC’s name and symbol.
Before sending, check that the destination wallet accepts Solana assets and that you have enough SOL for network transaction fees. Sending SANC to an address on another network, or using an unsupported exchange deposit network, can result in loss. A wallet displaying a balance does not by itself prove that the asset is the intended Sanctum token. If you keep SANC on an exchange, check its supported network and withdrawal rules; exchange custody means you rely on the platform to safeguard and release your tokens.
## How much SANC exists, and what do the figures mean?
As of 2026-11-08, SANC had about 495.8 million tokens in circulation, about 740.7 million total tokens, and a stated maximum supply of 1 billion. The maximum is a ceiling, not the amount currently circulating. The circulating and total figures can change, so check them again before making decisions that depend on supply.
SANC’s price was about $0.0438 and its market capitalization about $21.7 million on that date. These are dated market snapshots, not a guide to what you might receive in a future sale. Market capitalization is calculated from price and circulating supply; it does not mean that the same amount of cash is available to sell. Check current liquidity and trading activity as well as price, particularly if you may need to exit a larger position.
## What could go wrong if you hold SANC or use an LST?
SANC can lose value, and its market price may move sharply as demand, liquidity, or token supply changes. A governance classification does not guarantee that holders can vote, influence decisions, or claim project revenue. Confirm the token’s actual rights and the market’s trading depth before relying on either. You could also have difficulty selling at the displayed price if liquidity is thin.
Keep SANC’s risks separate from the risks of Sanctum’s liquid staking pools. If you deposit SOL for an LST, you take on risks tied to that pool, including smart-contract or validator problems, changing rewards, and an LST trading below the value of its underlying stake. Pool fees and yields can differ; check them for the specific LST rather than applying them to SANC. Neither staking rewards nor a stable market price is guaranteed.
## How can you store SANC more safely?
For self-custody, protect your wallet’s recovery phrase offline and never share it with someone claiming they need it to verify, unlock, or upgrade your SANC. Check the mint address and transaction details before approving a transfer or swap. Be cautious with unsolicited messages and token airdrops: interacting with a malicious site or signing an unclear transaction can expose your assets.
If you use a hardware wallet, confirm that it supports Solana assets and review each transaction on the device. Keep a small amount of SOL available for network fees, but avoid keeping more in a connected wallet than you need. If you stake SOL separately through an LST, read the pool’s redemption, liquidity, and fee terms before depositing; those arrangements do not make SANC itself a staking receipt. A backup recovery phrase is essential because losing it can mean losing access to self-custodied tokens.
By the numbers
Sanctum in numbers
Sanctum (SANC) is ranked #783 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $21.7M and a price of $0.0438 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $32.4M, so roughly 67% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 0.4% over 7 days, down 28.2% over 30 days, down 56.1% over the past year. It trades about 93% below its all-time high of $0.6252, set on Nov 13, 2024.
About 495.85M SANC are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (50% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $66.2K, or 0.3% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
SANC has token contracts on Solana. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
SANC is linked to Sanctum Validator LSTs, which we cover in our Staking rankings. See our Sanctum Validator LSTs page for how the protocol works and how we score it.
