## What does holding AERO let you do?

AERO is associated with Aerodrome Finance, a decentralized exchange on Base. Holding AERO can give you access to token-related functions, but simply keeping it in a wallet does not automatically make you a liquidity provider or guarantee income.

AERO can be used as a reward for liquidity providers. It can also be locked to receive veAERO, which carries governance voting rights, including votes that direct protocol incentives. Locking changes how freely you can use the tokens: veAERO is a voting position, not the same as liquid AERO you can immediately transfer. Check the protocol’s current rules before locking, since lock terms and reward arrangements can matter to your ability to withdraw or use the tokens.

AERO’s role is tied to Aerodrome’s onchain markets. If you only want to hold the token, you do not need to provide liquidity or vote. Those activities involve additional smart-contract, market and timing risks, and any returns can change.

## Which network and wallets support AERO?

AERO is issued on Base, an Ethereum layer-2 network. AERO is not listed as a native gas token for a blockchain; on Base, ETH is generally used to pay transaction fees. Your wallet must support Base and the relevant token standard to display and transfer AERO correctly.

Wallets that support Base and custom token assets can generally hold AERO. Before sending, check that the wallet is set to Base and that the token contract matches the official AERO contract. A familiar name or ticker is not enough to identify a genuine token. You may also encounter representations of assets on other networks, but the stated issuance for AERO is Base; do not assume a token on another chain is equivalent or directly redeemable.

You can keep AERO in a self-custody wallet, where you control the recovery phrase, or use a custodial service that supports it. With self-custody, losing the phrase or signing a malicious transaction can result in permanent loss. With a custodian, access depends on the provider’s account and withdrawal rules.

## How much AERO exists, and what can change supply?

AERO has no published maximum supply in the token figures stated here. As of November 8, 2026, its circulating supply was about 686.4 million, while total supply was about 2.14 billion. Those figures are not interchangeable: total supply includes tokens that may not be circulating, and they do not tell you exactly when or whether the remainder will enter circulation.

AERO is used for liquidity-provider rewards, and token emissions or other distributions can increase the amount available in the market. Governance and protocol decisions may also affect how incentives are allocated. The current emission schedule and the timing of future releases are important to check before assessing dilution; do not assume the circulating figure stays fixed.

Supply data alone does not tell you what AERO is worth or how easily you could sell it. Market price, trading liquidity and the amount of tokens available to trade can change. Treat any supply or valuation figure as a dated snapshot, not a promise about future value.

## How can you get and store AERO?

AERO can generally be obtained through supported crypto services or through a swap on a decentralized exchange that lists the correct token. Availability, trading pairs, identity checks and withdrawal terms depend on the service and your location. On a decentralized exchange, you interact with a smart contract using a wallet; check the token address, pool liquidity and quoted price before confirming a transaction.

For storage, choose a wallet that supports Base and make sure you can securely back up its recovery phrase. Never share that phrase or enter it into a site or form that asks you to “verify” your wallet. A hardware wallet can keep signing keys offline, but you still need to verify the network and transaction details on the device.

Aerodrome Ignition launches tokens through Base liquidity pools. A token encountered in an Ignition pool is not automatically official AERO just because its name or ticker looks similar. Confirm the contract address and project identity before interacting. This is general handling information, not a recommendation to buy or trade.

## What does it cost to move or swap AERO?

Sending AERO on Base requires a network fee, usually paid in ETH. The fee varies with network conditions and the transaction being processed; there is no fixed AERO transfer charge stated here. Check the wallet’s fee estimate before signing, and leave enough ETH in the wallet to cover the transaction.

A swap is different from a simple transfer. A swap may include a pool fee and can be affected by slippage, especially if liquidity is thin or the order is large compared with the pool. Review the final quote and minimum received amount rather than judging only by the displayed token price.

Moving AERO between networks may involve a bridge, which can charge fees on the source and destination networks. Bridges also add smart-contract and operational risks, and a wrapped token may not be identical to native AERO on Base. Do not bridge unless you understand which asset you will receive and how it can be moved back. Fees and supported routes can change, so check them at the time of the transaction.

## What could go wrong when you hold or use AERO?

AERO carries the usual risks of a volatile DeFi token. Its market price and available liquidity can change sharply, and the circulating supply may grow through rewards or other distributions. A high quoted price does not ensure that you can sell a large amount at that price.

Using AERO in a pool or locking it for veAERO adds risks beyond holding it. Smart-contract bugs, compromised keys, governance decisions, pool imbalances and changing incentive terms can affect your assets. A token lock can also limit when you can regain access to the locked position. Check the specific contract and current terms rather than assuming every feature has the same risk profile.

Watch for counterfeit tokens and misleading pool listings, particularly when a token is presented through a launch pool. Verify the contract address on Base and confirm the asset’s identity independently. Never share your recovery phrase, and be cautious about wallet prompts that request broad permissions. No token’s past performance or governance rights remove the possibility of losing some or all of your funds.

## What does AERO’s history tell you?

AERO is tied to Aerodrome Finance’s Base ecosystem and is described as a token used for liquidity rewards and governance through veAERO. The figures here do not establish a launch date, so avoid relying on an assumed project timeline when checking older token or contract information.

A dated market snapshot shows how quickly its price history can shift: AERO’s reported all-time high was about $0.785 on October 23, 2026, and its reported all-time low was about $0.575 on November 6, 2026. It was about $0.606 on November 8, 2026. These are historical observations, not forecasts or support and resistance levels.

If you are comparing older information with what you see now, check the date and whether it refers to the same token contract and network. Supply, market value and trading conditions change over time. A past high or low cannot tell you what AERO will do next.

By the numbers

Aero in numbers

Aero (AERO) is ranked #114 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $416M and a price of $0.6061 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $1.29B, so roughly 32% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 5.3% over 7 days. It trades about 23% below its all-time high of $0.7845, set on Oct 23, 2026.

About 686.39M AERO are in circulation, from a total supply of 2.14B. No hard maximum supply is listed.

24-hour trading volume was about $19.4M, or 4.7% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

AERO has token contracts on Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
