What does holding JUP get you?

JUP is Jupiter’s governance token; it is separate from the tokens you swap through Jupiter’s Solana trading tools. Holding JUP may let you participate in governance votes on protocol decisions. Some descriptions of the project also associate JUP with active staking rewards, but rewards and participation terms can change, so check the current rules before committing tokens.

JUP is not required simply to use a swap aggregator: your swap still involves the assets you trade and the network fees for the transaction. The token’s value to you therefore depends on whether you want governance participation or any currently available holder programs—not just on whether you use Jupiter to trade. Governance rights do not guarantee influence over every decision or any financial return. Do not treat staking or reward availability as fixed, and check what happens to your tokens, including any lock-up or withdrawal conditions, before opting in.

Which chains and wallets can hold JUP?

JUP is issued on Solana and Unichain. It is not listed as the native token of either chain, so make sure you distinguish the JUP token from each network’s own fee-paying asset. A token shown under the same ticker on another network may not be the same asset.

For Solana, use a wallet that supports Solana tokens. For Unichain, use a wallet that supports that network and its token format. Before receiving or sending JUP, check the selected network and token identity in your wallet or exchange; do not rely on the ticker alone. If a platform offers a wrapped or bridged version, confirm that it is the version you intend to hold and can move. Sending tokens to an address or network that cannot support them can make recovery difficult or impossible. Keep recovery phrases private, and never share them with anyone claiming they need them to help with a transfer.

How much JUP exists, and what can move its supply?

As of 2026-11-08, JUP’s circulating supply was about 3.32 billion, its total supply about 6.86 billion, and its stated maximum supply 10 billion. These figures describe different things: circulating supply estimates tokens in the market, total supply counts tokens already issued, and the maximum is the stated upper limit. They are not interchangeable.

The amount treated as circulating can change as tokens are distributed, become available, or are reclassified. The gap between total and maximum supply also means the total could rise, subject to the project’s issuance and allocation rules. JUP’s market price and valuation can move with demand, trading activity, broader crypto conditions, and expectations about Jupiter’s governance and ecosystem. No supply figure can tell you what the token will be worth. Check dated figures and current project rules rather than relying on an old supply snapshot.

How can you get and store JUP?

You can generally obtain JUP through a platform that supports the token or by swapping into it on a supported decentralized exchange. Availability, identity checks, fees, and withdrawal rules depend on the service and your location. If you use a decentralized exchange, review the token identity, quote, network, and wallet approval before confirming; a familiar ticker is not proof that a token is genuine.

To store JUP yourself, use a wallet compatible with the network where your tokens are held. Keep a small amount of the relevant network’s fee-paying token available for transactions. Back up your recovery phrase offline and do not enter it into a website or share it in response to a support message. If you leave JUP with a custodial platform, the platform controls access to the wallet and may set withdrawal conditions. Neither self-custody nor custody by a service removes the risk of loss.

What does it cost to move JUP?

Moving JUP costs depend on the network and the route you use. A Solana transfer requires a network transaction fee, while a transfer on Unichain uses that network’s fee system. Fees vary with network conditions; Jupiter does not have one universal transfer fee that covers every route. Check the wallet’s displayed estimate before you confirm, and leave enough of the network’s fee-paying asset to complete the transaction.

Moving JUP between chains is different from sending it between two wallets on the same chain. A bridge or cross-chain service may charge its own fee, require a separate transaction, and take time to complete. The destination token may also be a bridged representation rather than the same on-chain asset. Verify the source network, destination network, token, and receiving address at each step. A wrong-network transfer, a failed bridge transaction, or a compromised bridge can result in delays or permanent loss. Do not assume a low quoted fee means the route is risk-free.

What could go wrong with holding JUP?

JUP carries the usual risks of a crypto token, plus risks tied to the networks and applications you use. Its market price can fall sharply, and its governance role does not guarantee demand, voting influence, rewards, or a return. Circulating supply can change, while future issuance or distributions may affect how holders assess dilution. Check current token and governance rules instead of assuming earlier terms still apply.

When swapping or bridging, errors in token selection, network choice, or wallet approvals can expose your assets to loss. Review what a transaction authorizes and avoid approving requests you do not understand. Smart-contract, wallet, exchange, and bridge failures are also possible. If you stake or join a rewards program, check whether tokens are locked, how withdrawals work, and what conditions apply. Keep only the amount you can afford to lose in a wallet or service whose risks you understand; no storage method eliminates all risk.

What is JUP’s history, and how does it relate to Jupiter?

Jupiter is known as a Solana-based exchange platform that aggregates liquidity sources to route token swaps. Its tools include swaps, limit orders, dollar-cost averaging, a bridge for transfers to Solana, and a beta perpetual-futures feature. Those are platform functions; they should not be confused with JUP’s separate role as a token associated with governance and ecosystem participation.

JUP’s all-time high in the supplied market record was $2 on 2024-01-31, and its recorded low was $0.135801 on 2026-02-12. These are historical price points, not targets or a guide to future performance. The project’s launch date is not established here, so it is better not to infer a launch timeline from price records. For an owner, the practical distinction is that using Jupiter’s trading tools and holding JUP are separate decisions: one does not automatically require the other.

Jupiter in numbers

Jupiter (JUP) is ranked #83 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $799M and a price of $0.2406 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $1.65B, so roughly 48% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 7.0% over 7 days, down 31.3% over 30 days, down 33.3% over the past year. It trades about 88% below its all-time high of $2.00, set on Jan 31, 2024.

About 3.32B JUP are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 10B (33% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $32.9M, or 4.1% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

JUP has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Solana, Unichain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

JUP FAQs

What is JUP used for?

JUP is associated with governance of the Jupiter protocol, and some descriptions also refer to active staking rewards. Check current voting and reward terms before participating; neither rewards nor a particular level of influence is guaranteed.

Which networks support JUP?

JUP is issued on Solana and Unichain. Use a wallet that supports the specific network and verify the token and network before sending or receiving it.

Do you need JUP to use Jupiter swaps?

No. Jupiter’s swap tools route trades between other tokens, while JUP is a separate token. Using a swap service does not by itself mean you need to hold JUP.

What is JUP’s maximum supply?

As of 2026-11-08, circulating supply was about 3.32 billion, total supply about 6.86 billion, and the stated maximum 10 billion. These figures can change, so check a current dated supply figure.

Does it cost money to transfer JUP?

Transfer costs depend on the network, current conditions, and whether you use a bridge or other cross-chain service. Check the transaction estimate and any service fee before confirming; cross-chain transfers also carry additional risks.

What is the market cap of Jupiter?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Jupiter had a market cap of about $799M, ranking #83 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of JUP?

Jupiter's all-time high is $2.00, reached on Jan 31, 2024. Its all-time low is $0.1358 (Feb 12, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
