## What does holding RAY let you do?
RAY is Raydium’s token on Solana. Holding it can give you access to token-related functions such as staking, governance voting and participation in some Raydium launchpad or reward programs. Which options are active, and what they require, can change; check Raydium’s current interface before relying on any particular use. Rewards are not guaranteed, and staking can involve lock-up or withdrawal conditions.
Raydium itself is a decentralized exchange and liquidity protocol. You do not generally need to hold RAY just to swap other tokens through a Solana DEX. The token is not the same as a share in a company, and holding it does not guarantee a claim on protocol revenue or a particular benefit. If your reason for holding RAY is a feature such as governance or staking, confirm that the feature is available to your wallet and region and understand its terms before committing tokens.
## Which chain and wallets support RAY?
RAY is issued on Solana as a token, rather than being a blockchain’s native coin. That means you need a wallet that supports Solana tokens and the correct RAY asset. Solana wallets such as Phantom or Solflare are examples; confirm the token identity in the wallet or Raydium interface rather than trusting a name or ticker alone. Other tokens can use the same ticker.
Your wallet will also need SOL to pay Solana network fees. RAY is not used to pay those fees. You can hold RAY in a self-custody wallet, where you control the recovery phrase, or with a custodial service that supports Solana deposits and withdrawals. In either case, check that the service supports the Solana version of RAY. Sending a token to an incompatible chain or address can make it difficult or impossible to recover.
## How much RAY exists, and what can change its supply?
RAY’s stated maximum supply is 555 million tokens. As of November 8, 2026, about 270.0 million were circulating, against a total supply of about 555.0 million. The difference between circulating and total supply represents tokens that are not counted as circulating; it can affect dilution if more tokens enter circulation. The maximum and total supplies are nearly the same, but that does not mean all tokens are currently available to trade.
Token supply figures can change as allocations are released, rewards are distributed, or tokens are otherwise removed or added to circulating supply. Check a current token explorer or Raydium’s official token information if the exact amount matters to you. The RAY price and market value also move continuously: a supply figure alone does not tell you what your holdings are worth, and neither supply nor past price movement predicts future value.
## How can you get and store RAY?
People generally obtain RAY through a crypto service that supports the token or by swapping another Solana asset for it through a decentralized exchange. Before sending funds, check the token’s identity, the destination chain, any service restrictions and the displayed transaction details. A token with the same ticker on another network may not be interchangeable with Solana RAY.
For self-custody, use a wallet that supports Solana tokens and keep its recovery phrase offline and private. Never share the phrase or enter it into a site or message claiming to provide support. For a custodial account, check whether deposits and withdrawals are enabled for Solana RAY, along with the service’s own fees and limits. A small test transfer can help confirm an address and network before a larger transfer, though it still incurs a network fee. These are general handling steps, not a recommendation to acquire RAY.
## What does it cost to move or use RAY?
Moving RAY on Solana requires a network fee, normally paid in SOL. The exact amount can vary with network conditions and the transaction type; your wallet should show the fee before you approve. You may also face a service fee or a withdrawal minimum when moving tokens through a custodial platform. Raydium’s pool fees apply to swaps or liquidity activity, not simply to holding RAY, and the applicable rate should be checked for the specific pool or transaction.
A bridge transfer adds another layer: you may pay fees on the source and destination networks, as well as a bridge charge, and the wrapped or bridged token may carry separate risks. A bridge is not needed for an ordinary Solana-to-Solana transfer. Confirm the destination network and token format before sending, and do not assume a quoted fee includes every service or network charge.
## What could go wrong when you hold or use RAY?
RAY’s value can fall sharply, and its history includes substantial price swings. The token reached a recorded high of $16.83 on September 12, 2021, and a recorded low of about $0.134 on December 29, 2022. Those past prices are historical reference points, not targets or forecasts. Market liquidity can also vary, so a displayed price may not be the price available for a large swap.
Using Raydium adds protocol risks beyond holding the token. Smart-contract faults, exploits, failed transactions, wallet errors, counterfeit tokens and changing pool liquidity can all lead to losses. Liquidity providers can also lose value relative to simply holding the tokens they deposited. Staking or reward programs may have changing rules, lockups or reward rates. Review the token address, transaction permissions and pool terms carefully, and only expose funds you can afford to lose. No DEX or wallet can remove these risks.
## How did Raydium and RAY develop?
Raydium is a Solana-based automated market maker and liquidity provider. Its original design connected pool liquidity with the Serum decentralized exchange’s central limit order book, with the aim of giving liquidity providers access to broader order flow. Raydium’s current consumer-facing role is as a venue for token swaps and liquidity pools on Solana. The connection to Serum is part of the project’s early design history, not a reason to assume that every historic integration or feature remains active today.
The project’s exact launch date is not established in its public description. RAY has also experienced large market-price changes: its recorded high was in September 2021 and its low in December 2022. Those dates illustrate volatility, not a reliable cycle or future pattern. If you are considering a protocol feature, use its current terms and contract details rather than relying only on older descriptions of Raydium’s design.

Raydium (RAY) is ranked #106 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $486M and a price of $1.80 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $998M, so roughly 49% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was up 10.8% over 7 days, down 26.6% over 30 days, up 23.0% over the past year. It trades about 89% below its all-time high of $16.83, set on Sep 12, 2021.
About 269.96M RAY are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 555M (49% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $17.9M, or 3.7% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
RAY has token contracts on Solana. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

RAY FAQs
Is RAY a Solana coin?
RAY is issued on Solana and is not a native gas token. You need SOL to pay Solana network fees when you send RAY or interact with Solana applications.
What is RAY used for?
RAY can be used for functions such as staking and governance, and some Raydium programs may offer token-related rewards or launchpad participation. Availability and terms can change, and rewards are not guaranteed.
How do you store RAY?
Use a wallet that supports Solana tokens and verify that you have the correct RAY token. Keep SOL in the wallet for network fees, and protect your recovery phrase if you use self-custody.
Does it cost money to transfer RAY?
You normally need SOL for the Solana network fee, and the amount can vary with the transaction and network conditions. A platform, swap pool or bridge may charge additional fees.
What is RAY’s maximum supply?
RAY’s stated maximum supply is 555 million. About 270.0 million were circulating as of November 8, 2026; supply figures can change over time.
What is the market cap of Raydium?
