What can you do with ZK?

ZK is primarily a governance token: holding it can let you take part in decisions about ZKsync, including voting on proposals or delegating voting power where supported. Governance rules and proposals can change, so check the current process before treating your balance as voting power. ZK is not the same as the network’s gas token. Transactions on ZKsync Era generally require ETH for gas, so owning ZK alone may not be enough to move it or interact with apps. The token has also been described in connection with staking and network fees, but don’t assume those functions are live or that they create a return. Check the current protocol documentation and proposal status. Holding ZK does not guarantee influence over a decision, income, or any particular benefit; those depend on the rules and how governance develops.

Which networks and wallets support ZK?

ZK exists on ZKsync Era and Ethereum, and it is the native token associated with ZKsync Era. That does not mean ZK is the token you need for gas: ETH is generally used to pay transaction fees on Era and Ethereum. Before receiving or sending ZK, confirm the network and token contract in your wallet or exchange. A token shown on one network may not be directly usable on another. Moving assets between Ethereum and Era may involve a bridge; using a third-party bridge can introduce separate contract and operational risks. Wallet support varies, even among wallets that work with Ethereum-compatible networks. If you add a network or token manually, check the details against an official ZKsync source rather than relying on a token name or logo, which can be copied.

How large is ZK’s supply, and what can change it?

ZK has a maximum supply of 21 billion tokens. As of 2026-11-08, about 11.02 billion were circulating, with 21 billion total. The difference between circulating and maximum supply matters: additional tokens becoming available can affect the amount held by the public and may influence market conditions, though it does not determine price by itself. The project’s current release schedule, allocation breakdown and any changes to supply are not specified here, so check official token information before relying on a particular unlock estimate. Supply figures can also use different definitions across services. Treat the circulating number as a dated estimate, not a promise that the same amount will remain available. A proposal linking token value to interoperability fees has been reported, but do not treat a proposal as an implemented token mechanism unless governance and the network confirm it.

How do you get and store ZK?

You can generally obtain a token like ZK through a crypto exchange or a decentralized exchange that supports the relevant network. Availability, trading pairs and identity checks differ by provider and location; check the provider’s terms and the network shown before sending funds. This is general information, not a recommendation to buy. For storage, you can keep ZK with a custodial provider or use a compatible self-custody wallet. With self-custody, protect your recovery phrase offline and never share it; anyone who gets it may be able to control your assets. Confirm that your wallet supports the network where your ZK is held, and send a small test amount if you are uncertain about an address or network. A transfer to an incompatible network or incorrect address may be difficult or impossible to recover.

What does it cost to move ZK?

Moving ZK costs a network transaction fee, and you generally need ETH on the same network to pay it. Fees on Ethereum and ZKsync Era vary with network demand, so there is no fixed cost that applies to every transfer. Moving ZK between the networks can also involve a bridge, which may add a separate fee and processing time. Bridge routes and third-party services have different risks; a bridge transaction can be delayed, fail, or expose you to smart-contract or operational problems. Check the exact network, route, fee estimate and destination before confirming. If an exchange handles a withdrawal, it may charge its own fee or limit which networks it supports. Keep some ETH available for gas if you expect to move or use ZK on either network.

What risks should ZK holders weigh?

ZK carries the usual risks of a volatile crypto asset: its market price can fall sharply, and governance utility does not guarantee demand or value. As of 2026-11-08, ZK was about $0.0092, with a market capitalization of about $101.5 million; both figures change constantly. The token has smart-contract, bridge, wallet and exchange risks, as well as the possibility that governance decisions or token-supply changes affect holders. Errors in choosing a network or address can also lead to loss. A proposal or expected use case is not a guaranteed outcome. Do not rely on past prices, market rank or a proposal as evidence of future performance. Only hold or transfer an amount you can afford to lose, and verify current network and security details before interacting with contracts.

What does ZK’s price history tell you?

ZK’s recorded all-time high was about $0.321 on 2024-06-16, and its all-time low was about $0.0071 on 2026-08-14. As of 2026-11-08, it was trading near $0.0092. These are historical reference points, not forecasts or support levels. A token’s past high does not mean it will return there, and a low price does not show that it cannot fall further. Market capitalization and trading volume also move over time; the figures available for this date put market cap at about $101.5 million and 24-hour volume at about $2.7 million. The token’s launch date is not specified here. If you track its history, use dated figures and distinguish market price from changes in circulating supply.

By the numbers

ZKsync in numbers

ZKsync (ZK) is ranked #268 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $102M and a price of $0.009213 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $193M, so roughly 52% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 11.0% over 7 days, down 21.0% over 30 days, down 84.6% over the past year. It trades about 97% below its all-time high of $0.3210, set on Jun 16, 2024.

About 11.02B ZK are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 21B (52% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $2.69M, or 2.6% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

ZK is the native token of zkSync Era; it also has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups ZK under Layer 2 tokens, Zero-knowledge (ZK) tokens.

ZK FAQs

Is ZK used to pay ZKsync Era gas fees?

ZK is used for ZKsync governance, including voting or delegating voting power where supported. ETH is generally needed to pay transaction fees on ZKsync Era and Ethereum.

Which networks is ZK on?

ZK exists on ZKsync Era and Ethereum. Check the network and token contract before sending, because an asset on one network may not be directly usable on another.

What is the maximum supply of ZK?

As of 2026-11-08, ZK had a maximum supply of 21 billion tokens, with about 11.02 billion circulating. Circulating supply can change, so treat that figure as dated.

Do you need ETH to transfer ZK?

You generally need ETH to pay network fees on either Ethereum or ZKsync Era. Fees vary with network demand, and bridging between networks can add costs and risks.

What is the market cap of ZKsync?

As of Nov 8, 2026, ZKsync had a market cap of about $102M, ranking #268 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
