## What can you do with KAT?

KAT is Katana’s DeFi token, designed to give holders a way to influence how capital is directed within the network. If you lock KAT, you receive vKAT, a voting version of the token. Katana says vKAT supports decisions affecting the chain’s economy and gives participating holders access to fee-based rewards.

That does not make KAT a fixed-income product. Reward amounts can depend on network activity and the rules for distributing fees, and they may change. Katana has not published a fixed reward rate in the token description. Before locking, check the current terms, including how long tokens are committed, whether you can withdraw early, and how rewards are calculated.

KAT’s role is connected to the Katana ecosystem, so its usefulness depends in part on network participation and activity. Holding KAT alone is different from locking it: only locked KAT produces vKAT under the described design. Treat any voting power or reward as conditional on the protocol’s current rules, not as a guaranteed return.

## Which networks and wallets can hold KAT?

KAT is native to the Katana chain and is also issued on Base. That means you need to know which network your KAT is on before sending it, connecting to an app, or trying to lock it. A token on Base is not automatically interchangeable with a token on Katana just because both use the KAT name and symbol.

Use a wallet that supports the relevant network and the token’s correct contract. Before depositing or transferring, check the destination network and token details against Katana’s official documentation. A transfer to an unsupported network or address may be difficult or impossible to recover. If you move KAT between networks, use a bridge only after checking that it supports the exact token and route you intend to use; bridging adds its own contract and transaction risks.

Keep your recovery phrase offline and never share it with anyone claiming to help you claim vKAT or rewards. A wallet may display KAT without supporting the functions needed to lock it, so confirm that the wallet and connected app support the action you want to take.

## How much KAT exists, and can supply increase?

As of 2026-11-08, KAT’s reported circulating supply was about 3.36 billion tokens. Its total and maximum supply are both 10 billion, so the maximum is capped at that amount. The difference between the circulating and maximum figures is about 6.64 billion KAT; that does not mean all of it is immediately available to trade.

A maximum supply is not a release schedule. Katana has not published a vesting or unlock timetable in the token details described here, so you should not assume when additional tokens may enter circulation. Changes in circulating supply can affect dilution and market liquidity, while the market price can move independently of the supply figures.

Supply figures are snapshots, not guarantees. Check the current token information before making a decision, and distinguish circulating supply from total supply when comparing market data. KAT’s supply cap does not guarantee demand, rewards, or future value.

## What should you check before storing or locking KAT?

KAT carries the usual risks of a volatile crypto asset, plus risks tied to locking and using a DeFi protocol. Its price can fall sharply, and there is no assurance that fee-based rewards will offset a loss in market value. A capped supply does not protect you from weak demand or reduced activity on Katana.

Locking adds a separate decision: your KAT may be unavailable for a period, or withdrawals may follow protocol-specific conditions. Katana has not published a fixed reward rate or lock terms in the token description, so check the current protocol rules before committing tokens. Smart-contract bugs, network outages, governance changes, and mistakes when using a bridge or choosing a network can also cause losses.

For safer custody, use a wallet you control, protect its recovery phrase offline, and consider a hardware wallet if it supports the networks and token functions you need. Test a small transfer first when using a new route. Never share your phrase or approve a transaction you do not understand.

By the numbers

Katana in numbers

Katana (KAT) is ranked #1,101 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $12.3M and a price of $0.003660 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $36.6M, so roughly 34% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 8.1% over 7 days, down 18.0% over 30 days. It trades about 88% below its all-time high of $0.0295, set on Apr 24, 2026.

About 3.36B KAT are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 10B (34% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $8.13M, or 66% of its market cap: very high turnover.

KAT is the native token of Katana; it also has token contracts on Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups KAT under Layer 2 tokens, DeFi tokens, Yield farming tokens.

What is Katana (KAT) used for?

KAT is Katana’s DeFi token. Holders can lock it to receive vKAT, which supports voting and participation in the chain’s economy, with fee-based rewards described for participants.

Which networks support KAT?

KAT is native to Katana and is also issued on Base. Check the network and token contract before receiving or sending it; matching names and symbols do not make tokens on different networks interchangeable.

What is KAT’s maximum supply?

As of 2026-11-08, circulating supply was about 3.36 billion KAT. Total and maximum supply were 10 billion, but the token details do not give a release timetable for the remaining supply.

Does locking KAT guarantee rewards?

Locking KAT gives you vKAT under the described design, but rewards are not guaranteed. Check the current lock conditions, withdrawal rules and reward formula before committing tokens.

How can you store KAT safely?

Use a wallet that supports the network where your KAT is held and verify the correct token details before transferring. Keep your recovery phrase private and offline, and take care with bridges and transaction approvals.

What is the market cap of Katana?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Katana had a market cap of about $12.3M, ranking #1,101 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of KAT?

Katana's all-time high is $0.0295, reached on Apr 24, 2026. Its all-time low is $0.003457 (Nov 5, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
