What does holding AXS let you do?

AXS is Axie Infinity’s governance token. Holding it is intended to give you a role in shaping the game universe through votes on proposals; the project also describes staking as a way to earn more AXS. Those features do not make AXS the same as an Axie NFT: the token does not by itself give you a creature or guarantee access to a particular game feature.

AXS has also been associated with Axie breeding costs. Some published guides have described a 0.5 AXS breeding fee, but game rules and costs can change, so check the current in-game terms before relying on that figure. The useful distinction is that AXS may have governance, staking and game-related uses, while its price can still move independently of how often players use those features. Rewards, voting power and any in-game utility should not be treated as guaranteed returns.

Which chains and wallets support AXS?

AXS is issued on Ethereum, Ronin, Harmony and BNB Chain. Axie Infinity is Ronin-based, but the token is not native to any of those chains according to the token details here. AXS on one network is not automatically usable as AXS on another: deposits, withdrawals and in-game connections must use a supported network and compatible address.

You can store AXS in a wallet that supports the specific chain and token format you hold. Ronin Wallet is designed for the Ronin ecosystem; Ethereum-compatible wallets can support tokens on Ethereum and other compatible networks, but you must select the right network and token. Before sending, check the receiving service’s network instructions and confirm the token contract where relevant. A wrong-network transfer, unsupported deposit or mistyped address can leave funds inaccessible. Keep recovery phrases offline and never share them with someone claiming they need them to release AXS.

How much AXS exists, and what affects its value?

AXS has a maximum supply of 270 million tokens. About 175.6 million were circulating as of November 8, 2026; the difference between circulating and maximum supply is not the same as tokens guaranteed to enter circulation on a fixed schedule. The available token information does not establish a complete future release timetable, so check project disclosures if unlocks or emissions matter to your decision.

Supply is only one influence on market value. Demand may shift with player activity, governance, staking participation, exchange access and broader crypto-market conditions. As a dated snapshot, AXS traded at about $0.82 on November 8, 2026, with a market capitalization of about $143.9 million. These figures can change quickly and are not a forecast. AXS previously reached an all-time high of about $164.90 on November 6, 2021, but that historical price does not indicate what it may be worth later.

How do people get and store AXS?

People generally get AXS through crypto exchanges that list it or by receiving it from another wallet. Availability depends on your location, the platform’s rules and the network it supports. If you are moving AXS to a game-related wallet, verify that the destination accepts the same network you are using; a familiar token name alone is not enough.

For storage, choose between a self-custody wallet, where you control the recovery phrase, and a custodial platform, where the provider controls the keys. Self-custody gives you direct control but makes you responsible for backups and transaction checks. A custodial service may simplify access, but withdrawals can be restricted or paused by the provider. Keep a small record of which network holds each balance, protect account access with strong authentication, and test a small transfer when appropriate. This is general handling guidance, not a recommendation to acquire AXS.

What can an AXS transfer or bridge cost?

Sending AXS costs a network transaction fee, usually paid in the chain’s required fee token rather than necessarily in AXS. The amount depends on the network, congestion and the transaction type. Ethereum fees can fluctuate with demand; Ronin, Harmony and BNB Chain have their own fee rules. Check the wallet’s displayed fee and ensure you have the required fee token before confirming a transfer.

Moving AXS between networks may involve a bridge or a service that handles deposits and withdrawals. That can add fees, waiting time and smart-contract or operational risk. A bridge transfer is not the same as an ordinary wallet transfer, and a token representation on the destination chain may depend on the bridge that created it. Confirm that the receiving wallet or exchange supports the exact network and route. No single fixed transfer or bridge cost applies to every AXS transaction.

What risks should AXS holders check?

AXS combines game-related utility with the risks of a volatile crypto asset. Its value can fall sharply, and historical highs do not protect holders from losses. Staking may involve lockups, changing reward rates or other conditions; review the current terms and understand how quickly you can unstake before committing tokens. Governance rights also depend on the project’s proposal process and do not guarantee that a vote will pass or change the game as you expect.

There are practical risks too: sending on the wrong chain, losing wallet recovery details, approving a malicious transaction, or relying on an exchange or bridge that becomes unavailable. Game rules and player demand can change, reducing the usefulness that holders expect from the token. Do not treat AXS as a claim on Axie Infinity’s business or as a guaranteed source of staking income. Use only wallet software and services you can verify, and consider whether you could withstand losing the amount you hold.

What is AXS’s history as an Axie token?

AXS, or Axie Infinity Shard, was introduced in 2020 and is associated with the Axie Infinity game. Its stated role is governance: holders are intended to help shape and vote on the direction of the game universe. The project also describes staking, while game guides have discussed token use in breeding. These uses can evolve, so check current game and staking rules rather than assuming older descriptions still apply.

AXS’s market history shows how far a gaming token can move in both directions. It reached an all-time high of about $164.90 on November 6, 2021, and an all-time low of about $0.12 on November 6, 2020. Those are historical points, not targets or a guide to future performance. Axie Infinity’s gameplay and community activity may matter to demand, but token holders should distinguish the game’s progress from the separate risks of token ownership.

By the numbers

Axie Infinity in numbers

Axie Infinity (AXS) is ranked #206 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $144M and a price of $0.8193 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $221M, so roughly 65% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 4.7% over 7 days, down 29.7% over 30 days, down 45.4% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $164.90, set on Nov 6, 2021.

About 175.6M AXS are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 270M (65% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $21.0M, or 15% of its market cap: high turnover.

AXS has token contracts on 4 chains we track, including Ethereum, Ronin, Harmony, BNB Chain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

AXS FAQs

What is AXS used for?

AXS is described as Axie Infinity’s governance token, and the project also describes staking. Some guides have reported breeding use, but check current in-game rules because utility and costs can change.

Which networks is AXS on?

AXS is issued on Ethereum, Ronin, Harmony and BNB Chain. Always confirm the supported network at the sending and receiving ends; the same token name does not make balances interchangeable across chains.

Can I keep AXS in a wallet?

You need a wallet that supports AXS on the network where your tokens are held. Ronin Wallet is designed for the Ronin ecosystem, while compatible Ethereum-style wallets can support AXS on certain compatible networks; verify network and token details before transferring.

What is the maximum supply of AXS?

AXS has a maximum supply of 270 million. About 175.6 million were circulating as of November 8, 2026; supply figures and market prices can change.

Can you stake AXS?

Staking is described as a use for AXS, but rewards and conditions can change and are not guaranteed. Check the current lockup, withdrawal and reward terms before staking.

What is the market cap of Axie Infinity?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Axie Infinity had a market cap of about $144M, ranking #206 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
