What does holding ARK let you do?
ARK is the native token of the ARK blockchain, a Layer 1 network built around delegated proof of stake (DPoS). You can use ARK for network activity and to vote for a delegate. Delegates help secure the chain by validating transactions and producing blocks; token holders choose which delegates take part. This is different from Bitcoin mining, where miners use computing power to secure the network.
ARK has also been associated with tools for creating or connecting blockchain-based projects. Treat those capabilities as a platform proposition, not a guarantee that a particular app or connected chain is active or useful. Check the specific product you plan to use, and confirm it supports the ARK network and the token itself. ARK is not simply a ticker for an asset issued on Ethereum or another network: the project operates its own blockchain.
Which network and wallet should you use for ARK?
ARK is designed for its own blockchain, so check that any exchange or wallet withdrawal is sent over the ARK network. The token facts list no other networks where ARK is issued. A deposit address or token with the same ticker on a different chain may not be interchangeable with native ARK; confirm the network on both sides before sending funds.
The ARK Desktop Wallet is a project wallet for major desktop operating systems. It connects to synced network peers, so you do not need to download the full blockchain to use it. Before installing, verify the software is genuinely from the ARK project and that it supports the version of the network you intend to use. If you hold ARK on an exchange, check its withdrawal network and any account-specific withdrawal requirements. Wallet support and exchange availability can change, so confirm them before moving a meaningful amount.
How much ARK exists, and does voting pay?
ARK has about 200.3 million tokens in circulation and about 200.3 million total supply, as of 2026-11-08. No maximum supply is listed. These figures can change, so check a current network or market-data source before relying on them for a transaction or comparison.
If you vote for a delegate, your ARK remains in your wallet; voting is not the same as sending tokens to that delegate. Your voting power is tied to the ARK you hold, and you can vote for one delegate at a time. Delegate participation, voting rules and transaction fees are network details that may change. Review the fee and confirmation shown in your wallet before approving a vote or transfer. Do not assume that voting guarantees a reward: check the delegate’s terms and how any distribution is handled before counting on it.
How can you store ARK, and what could go wrong?
For self-custody, use an ARK-compatible wallet, keep its recovery phrase offline and never share it. Anyone with that phrase can control the wallet, and transactions made with it generally cannot be reversed. Avoid saving the phrase in screenshots, email, cloud notes or a website, and test a small transfer before sending a larger amount to a new address.
ARK’s main risks include price volatility, changes in network use and the possibility that wallet or exchange support becomes limited. DPoS also relies on token holders choosing delegates; low participation or concentrated voting power can affect who secures the network. A wrong-network transfer, compromised device, fake wallet download or lost recovery phrase can cause permanent loss. If you keep ARK on an exchange, you rely on that company to safeguard access and process withdrawals. Only hold an amount you can afford to lose.

ARK in numbers
ARK (ARK) is ranked #638 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $30.1M and a price of $0.1503 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($30.1M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 10.3% over 7 days, down 31.6% over 30 days, down 51.1% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $10.22, set on Jan 9, 2018.
About 200.29M ARK are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $284K, or 0.9% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
CoinGecko groups ARK under Layer 1 tokens.

What is ARK coin used for?
ARK is the native token of the ARK blockchain, a Layer 1 network using delegated proof of stake. It is not just a token issued on Ethereum or another listed network.
How does ARK staking or delegate voting work?
ARK uses delegated proof of stake. Token holders vote for delegates, who help validate transactions and produce blocks. Voting does not require you to send your tokens to the delegate.
Which wallet supports ARK?
The ARK Desktop Wallet is a project wallet for major desktop operating systems and connects to synced network peers. Confirm current wallet compatibility and download authenticity before using it.
What is the total supply of ARK?
About 200.3 million ARK were in circulation and total supply as of 2026-11-08. No maximum supply is listed, and supply figures may change.
Can I send ARK on Ethereum or another chain?
The token facts list no other networks where ARK is issued. Use the ARK network for native ARK transfers, and verify the network shown by your wallet or exchange before sending.
What is the market cap of ARK?
As of Nov 8, 2026, ARK had a market cap of about $30.1M, ranking #638 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
