What does holding THETA let you do?

THETA is Theta Network’s native token. Holding it can let you stake toward network security and participate in governance; staking may also make you eligible for TFUEL rewards under the network’s rules. THETA is also associated with incentives for people who contribute bandwidth or computing resources. Theta Network connects a blockchain with an edge-computing network for AI, video, rendering and other workloads.

THETA and TFUEL have different roles. THETA is used for staking and governance, while TFUEL is the network’s operational token, including for transaction fees. Holding THETA does not by itself mean you are providing computing power or receiving income. Any staking rewards depend on protocol rules and participation conditions, and token prices can change independently of network use. Treat staking as a network activity with its own availability and custody considerations, not as a guaranteed return.

Which chain and wallets support THETA?

THETA is native to the Theta blockchain; it is not natively an Ethereum token. Theta is EVM-compatible, so some EVM wallets can connect to Theta Mainnet when configured for that network. Support varies by wallet, and the ability to hold THETA does not necessarily mean the wallet also supports staking or every Theta feature.

Before depositing or sending, check that your wallet supports Theta Mainnet and that the receiving service accepts native THETA on that network. If a token with the THETA name or ticker appears on a different chain, do not assume it is the native asset: verify the network and token contract, and understand any bridge or redemption arrangements. Hardware-wallet support can also vary by model and software. Keep your recovery phrase offline and never share it with someone claiming they need it to help you move tokens.

Is THETA’s supply fixed, and what can move it?

THETA has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. The reported circulating and total supplies are both 1 billion, so the full stated supply is already in circulation. That cap limits new THETA issuance under the stated token supply, but it does not create a price floor or guarantee demand.

Market value can still move with demand for staking and governance, expectations for Theta’s AI and media-computing services, broader crypto-market conditions, and the amount of THETA available to trade. Staking can affect how much is readily tradable, but it does not remove tokens from the supply permanently. Theta Labs has disclosed unstaking treasury THETA to fund development and decentralize the protocol; treasury movements are worth distinguishing from new issuance. Supply figures and market conditions can change, so check current network and market data before making a transfer or other decision.

How do people get and store THETA?

People generally obtain THETA through a cryptocurrency exchange that lists it, or through a compatible onchain service where it is available. Listings and available trading pairs vary by region and platform. You can also receive it from another holder, provided the sender uses a network your wallet supports. This is general information, not a recommendation to acquire the token.

For self-custody, use a wallet that explicitly supports native THETA on Theta Mainnet. A custodial exchange holds the keys on your behalf; with a self-custody wallet, you are responsible for protecting the recovery phrase and keeping it private. Check the network and address carefully before sending, and consider a small test transfer when appropriate. If you stake THETA, review the wallet’s staking process, withdrawal or unstaking rules, and any periods when your tokens may not be immediately transferable.

What does it cost to move THETA?

A transfer on Theta Mainnet uses TFUEL for network fees, not THETA. The exact cost can vary with network conditions and the transaction type, so keep enough TFUEL in the sending wallet to cover the fee. A wallet or service may also show its own charges; check the transaction summary before confirming. Theta does not publish a single fixed fee that applies to every transfer.

Moving THETA between chains usually involves a bridge or another conversion service, if one supports the route you need. That can add source-chain gas, destination-chain gas, and service fees or other conversion costs. A bridge also introduces separate smart-contract, operator and asset-redemption risks. Confirm that the destination token is the version you intend to hold, and do not send native THETA directly to an address on another chain unless the receiving service specifically supports that route.

What could go wrong when you hold THETA?

THETA carries the usual risks of a volatile crypto asset. As of 2026-11-08, its reported price was about $0.14, down about 73% over the previous year; that is a dated snapshot, not a forecast. Network growth does not guarantee token demand or value, and exchange liquidity can vary.

There are also network and custody risks. Bugs in wallets, smart contracts or bridges can lead to lost funds; sending on the wrong chain may be difficult or impossible to reverse. Staking can limit access to tokens under the protocol’s unstaking rules. The project’s development and treasury decisions may affect confidence, while its AI and computing services face competition and demand uncertainty. Use only services and wallets you understand, verify addresses and networks, and be wary of anyone promising guaranteed staking returns or asking for your recovery phrase.

How has Theta Network and THETA developed?

Theta Network launched on 2017-12-14. Its design pairs the Theta blockchain, which supports smart contracts and payment functions, with the Theta Edge Network for distributed computing. Theta says its EdgeCloud computing platform launched on 2024-05-01 and describes the edge network as supporting AI, video, rendering and gaming workloads. Those service claims do not ensure that demand will translate into THETA value.

THETA reached a reported all-time high of $15.72 on 2021-04-16 and an all-time low of about $0.0404 on 2020-03-12. Those past extremes show how widely its market price has moved; they are not targets or predictions. As of 2026-11-08, reported market capitalization was about $142.5 million. Market figures change continually, so treat them as dated context rather than a measure of what your tokens will be worth later.

By the numbers

Theta Network in numbers

Theta Network (THETA) is ranked #207 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $142M and a price of $0.1425 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($142M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 10.4% over 7 days, down 33.1% over 30 days, down 73.0% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $15.72, set on Apr 16, 2021.

About 1B THETA are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (100% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $1.65M, or 1.2% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

THETA is the native token of Theta. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups THETA under Layer 1 tokens, AI tokens, DePIN tokens.

THETA FAQs

What is THETA used for?

THETA is used for staking and governance on Theta Network and is associated with incentives for contributors to the network. TFUEL is the operational token used for transaction fees.

Can I store THETA in an EVM wallet?

THETA is native to Theta Mainnet. Some EVM-compatible wallets can connect to the network, but wallet support for THETA, staking and other features varies, so confirm support before sending.

Do you need TFUEL to send THETA?

Theta Mainnet transaction fees are paid in TFUEL, not THETA. The fee depends on the transaction and network conditions, so check the wallet’s fee estimate and keep TFUEL available.

How many THETA tokens are there?

The stated maximum supply is 1 billion THETA, and the reported total and circulating supplies are both 1 billion. A fixed supply does not guarantee a particular price or level of demand.

Can you earn rewards by staking THETA?

Staking can support network security and may make you eligible for TFUEL rewards, subject to protocol rules. Review the staking and unstaking conditions because access to staked tokens may be restricted for a period.

What is the market cap of Theta Network?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Theta Network had a market cap of about $142M, ranking #207 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of THETA?

Theta Network's all-time high is $15.72, reached on Apr 16, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.0404 (Mar 12, 2020). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of THETA?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 1B THETA were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 1B.

Which blockchains is THETA on?

THETA is the native token of Theta.
