## What does holding GLM let you do?

GLM is used to pay for computing work on Golem Network, a peer-to-peer marketplace for computing resources. If you request work, you set a bid in GLM for providers to run your task. If you provide computing resources, you can earn GLM for completing requestors’ jobs. The network can split some tasks into smaller parts and distribute them among providers, which is intended to support parallel processing.

Holding GLM does not, by itself, give you computing power or guarantee that a provider will accept your task. Its practical use depends on whether you want to request work or contribute resources, and whether the network has suitable providers for your needs. Golem describes its focus as computing for AI workloads, but GLM is the payment token for the marketplace rather than a claim on a specific AI product. The project does not describe GLM as a share or promise of income.

## Which chains and wallets can hold GLM?

GLM is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. Wallets that support Ethereum tokens can generally hold it, but you need the correct GLM token and network details when receiving or sending. Golem has also introduced Polygon integration for lower-cost payments. That does not mean every exchange, wallet or Golem service supports GLM on Polygon today, so check the network shown by the service before transferring.

A network mismatch can leave tokens inaccessible or require extra steps to recover them. Do not select a chain based only on a lower quoted fee: the receiving wallet or service must support GLM on that same chain. For self-custody, keep your recovery phrase offline and never share it with someone claiming to provide support. If you use a custodial exchange, you rely on that company to safeguard the tokens and process withdrawals.

## How much GLM exists, and what can move its price?

As of 2026-11-08, GLM had 1 billion tokens in circulation and 1 billion total supply. A separate maximum-supply figure is not listed, so do not assume that the circulating and total amounts establish a fixed cap. Supply figures can also change if the project changes token arrangements, so check current token details before relying on an old figure.

GLM’s market price depends on trading demand, available liquidity, conditions across crypto markets and expectations for use of Golem’s computing marketplace. As a dated snapshot, GLM traded at about $0.106 and had a market capitalization of about $106.4 million on 2026-11-08. Its quoted price can move quickly, and those figures are not a forecast or a measure of whether the network will be useful to you. A token’s marketplace role does not ensure that demand for it will grow.

## How do people get and store GLM?

People typically obtain GLM through a crypto exchange or by receiving it from another wallet. Availability, trading pairs, identity checks and withdrawal options vary by provider and location. You can also earn GLM by providing computing resources to the Golem network, although that involves operating suitable equipment and meeting the network’s requirements; receiving tokens is not guaranteed simply because you sign up.

For storage, choose between a custodial service and a wallet where you control the private keys. With self-custody, confirm that the wallet supports the correct network and token before sending a small test amount if appropriate. Back up your recovery phrase securely, keep it private and be wary of fake support accounts. A wallet displays and manages access to tokens recorded on a blockchain; it does not store the tokens as files on your device.

## What can a GLM transfer cost?

A GLM transfer can involve more than the token amount. On Ethereum, you pay a network fee in ETH for a transaction, and the amount varies with network demand and transaction complexity. The Golem project does not publish a single fixed fee for moving GLM, and your wallet should show an estimated network fee before you confirm. Check that estimate and the receiving address carefully.

If you move GLM between Ethereum and Polygon, a bridge or other supported transfer method may add fees and time, and introduces separate operational risks. Whether that route is currently supported depends on the service and token contract. Exchange deposits and withdrawals can also have provider charges or minimums, which are separate from blockchain gas fees. Compare the total cost and confirm the destination network before proceeding; a low network fee is not useful if the recipient cannot accept the token on that chain.

## What risks should you check before using GLM?

GLM has crypto-market risks as well as risks tied to using a computing marketplace. Its price can fall sharply, and thin liquidity can make it harder to trade at a quoted price. A wallet or exchange may also be hacked, restricted or unavailable. With self-custody, losing your recovery phrase or approving a malicious transaction can mean losing access to your tokens.

For network use, a bid in GLM does not remove the risk that a task may take longer than expected or that the available provider is not suitable. Check the task terms, provider information and any protections offered before committing funds or equipment. Do not assume that computing jobs are audited, insured or guaranteed; Golem does not publish a general assurance of those protections. Verify the token contract and network through trusted project channels, and treat unsolicited requests for your recovery phrase as a scam.

## What is GLM’s history?

Golem Network is an open-source project built around exchanging computing resources through a peer-to-peer marketplace. GLM is the successor token associated with GNT: the project moved to an ERC-20-compliant GLM token in 2020. Ethereum is the primary chain identified for GLM, with Polygon integration also described for payments. Check current network and token details before moving older GNT or GLM, because token migration and chain support can affect how a wallet or service handles a transfer.

GLM has experienced substantial price swings. Its recorded all-time high was $1.32 on 2018-04-13, while its all-time low was about $0.0091 on 2016-12-11. Those historical extremes do not indicate what the token will do next. For an owner, the more useful question is whether you have a real need to request computing work or provide resources, and whether the current network and costs fit that use.

By the numbers

Golem in numbers

Golem (GLM) is ranked #259 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $106M and a price of $0.1064 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($106M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 7.4% over 7 days, down 18.1% over 30 days, down 51.2% over the past year. It trades about 92% below its all-time high of $1.32, set on Apr 13, 2018.

About 1B GLM are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.

24-hour trading volume was about $1.33M, or 1.3% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

GLM has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

GLM is linked to Golem, which we cover in our AI rankings. See our Golem page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

GLM FAQs

What is GLM used for?

GLM is used to pay for computing tasks on Golem Network. Requestors set bids in GLM, while providers can earn GLM for completing jobs.

Is GLM available on Ethereum or Polygon?

GLM is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, and Golem has also introduced Polygon integration for payments. Confirm that the wallet or service receiving your tokens supports the exact network you choose.

What is the total supply of GLM?

As of 2026-11-08, circulating and total supply were both 1 billion GLM. A separate maximum-supply figure is not listed.

Does it cost ETH to send GLM?

Ethereum transfers require ETH for network gas, and the fee varies with network conditions. A bridge, exchange or wallet provider may add separate charges.

Can you earn GLM by providing computing power?

Yes. You can earn GLM by providing computing resources and completing requestors’ tasks. Earnings depend on accepted work and are not guaranteed just by operating a device.

What is the market cap of Golem?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Golem had a market cap of about $106M, ranking #259 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of GLM?

Golem's all-time high is $1.32, reached on Apr 13, 2018. Its all-time low is $0.009138 (Dec 11, 2016). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of GLM?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 1B GLM were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.

Which blockchains is GLM on?

It has token contracts on Ethereum.
