## What do you get by holding crvUSD?
crvUSD is a dollar-pegged stablecoin issued through Curve’s collateralized-debt system. Holding it gives you a token intended to track the US dollar, which you may be able to use for transfers, trading, or DeFi activity where crvUSD is supported. Its usefulness depends on the apps and markets available on the network where you hold it; it is not the same token as CRV, Curve’s separate governance token.
You do not need to borrow against collateral just to hold crvUSD. Borrowing is one way it enters circulation: a user deposits eligible crypto collateral and takes out crvUSD debt. The system is designed to manage falling collateral values through LLAMMA, which can gradually exchange collateral for crvUSD across price bands rather than rely only on a single liquidation event. That design does not make the token risk-free or guarantee that you can always exchange it for one dollar.
## How steady is crvUSD’s dollar peg?
crvUSD aims to stay near $1, but the peg is a target, not a promise of cash redemption at that price. On 2026-11-08, its price was about $0.9974, with a market capitalization of about $149.2 million. Circulating and total supply were both about 149.5 million crvUSD, and no maximum supply was listed.
Supply can change as borrowers create crvUSD against collateral and repay debt, which generally removes the borrowed tokens from circulation. Market demand, liquidity, confidence in collateral and Curve’s system, and activity on different networks can all affect its trading price. Its recorded high was $1.11 on 2024-06-12, and its recorded low was $0.949016 on 2023-08-07. Those past prices show that a dollar peg can deviate; they do not indicate what the token will be worth in the future.
## Which networks and wallets can hold crvUSD?
crvUSD is issued on Ethereum, xDai, Fraxtal, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Base, and Taiko. A token on one network cannot automatically be used on another. Before receiving or sending it, check that your wallet and the destination service support crvUSD on the exact same network, and confirm the token contract address through a trusted source. Similar token names can refer to different assets or versions.
You can generally store it in a self-custody wallet that supports the relevant network and token standard, or in a custodial account that explicitly supports crvUSD deposits and withdrawals on that network. With self-custody, protect your recovery phrase offline and never share it. A wallet showing a balance does not prove that a particular exchange, lending app, or bridge will accept that token version. Check network support before sending; a transfer to an incompatible network or address can be difficult or impossible to recover.
## How can you get and store crvUSD?
People commonly obtain crvUSD by swapping for it through a compatible crypto service, receiving it from another holder, or borrowing it through Curve’s system against eligible collateral. Availability and trading pairs vary by network and service. If you borrow it, you take on debt and need to monitor the collateral position; that is different from simply holding crvUSD in a wallet. This is general information, not a recommendation to buy or borrow.
For a swap or deposit, verify the network, token contract, and destination address before confirming. If using an exchange or another custodian, read its deposit and withdrawal rules first: it may support crvUSD on only some networks, or pause withdrawals. For a self-custody wallet, keep a small amount of that network’s native gas token available for transactions. Do not treat a displayed dollar value as a guaranteed redemption value, and check the available liquidity if you expect to exchange a large amount.
## What does it cost to move crvUSD?
Sending crvUSD normally requires a network transaction fee, paid in that network’s gas token rather than in crvUSD. Fees vary with network congestion and transaction complexity. Moving crvUSD between networks may also require a bridge or other cross-chain service; that can add service charges, exchange spreads, and extra transaction fees on the sending and receiving networks. There is no single fee that applies to every crvUSD transfer, and costs can change before a transaction is confirmed.
Check the total shown by your wallet or service, including any bridge charge, before approving. A lower-cost network is useful only if the receiving wallet or app supports crvUSD there. Bridges introduce additional smart-contract and operational risks, and sending to the wrong network can strand funds. Avoid relying on a quoted fee from an earlier transaction: congestion and service terms may have changed.
## What could go wrong when you hold crvUSD?
The main risks are a loss of the dollar peg, smart-contract failure, and changes in the value or liquidity of collateral supporting the borrowing system. A technical issue, exploit, oracle problem, or sharp market move could affect the system or make it harder to trade crvUSD near $1. DeFi integrations add their own risks: a lending market or bridge can fail even if Curve’s contracts are functioning.
If you borrow crvUSD, falling collateral prices can put your position at risk. LLAMMA is designed to make liquidations more gradual, but it cannot remove collateral losses or guarantee that a position stays healthy. Network mistakes are another practical hazard: incompatible token versions, incorrect addresses, and unsupported deposits can lead to lost access. Do not assume that a stablecoin is insured, redeemable on demand, or backed by a bank deposit. Check contract and network details, understand any borrowing terms, and hold only an amount you can afford to have exposed to these risks.

CRVUSD FAQs
Is crvUSD always worth one dollar?
crvUSD is designed to track the US dollar, but its market price can move above or below $1. Its peg is not a guarantee of redemption at that price.
Is crvUSD the same as CRV?
No. CRV is Curve’s governance token, while crvUSD is its dollar-pegged stablecoin. They have different roles and risk profiles.
Which networks support crvUSD?
