## What can you use USDSM for?
Stable Mint USD (USDSM) is a dollar-denominated electronic money token intended for on-chain payments, settlement, treasury management and digital-asset markets. Stable Mint Limited, a Malta-based electronic money institution authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority, says it issues and redeems USDSM at a 1:1 rate against US dollars. That does not mean every holder can automatically exchange tokens directly for dollars: issuance and redemption go through the issuer’s onboarding and compliance process, and access is intended for eligible participants.
USDSM is designed to track the US dollar, not to increase in value. Its price was about $1.001 on 2026-11-08. However, its reported historical high was $1.44 on 2026-08-14 and its low was about $0.688 on 2026-06-17. Those deviations are a reminder that a target peg is not a guarantee of the price you can get when selling or transferring tokens.
## Which networks and wallets support USDSM?
USDSM is issued on Etherlink, Ethereum, Arbitrum and Base. It is not the native coin of any of these networks; it is a token deployed on them. Before sending or receiving it, make sure your wallet and the destination service support USDSM on the exact network you plan to use. A token on one network is not automatically interchangeable with the same-named token on another.
Use the issuer’s confirmed token address to identify the genuine asset. A matching name or ticker alone is not enough, since unrelated tokens can use similar labels. If USDSM does not appear in your wallet, you may need to add the token using its correct contract address. Network transfers also require the network’s native asset to pay transaction fees; USDSM itself may not cover that cost. Check the destination network and address before confirming a transfer, and consider a small test transaction when the amount warrants it. Stable Mint does not publish wallet recommendations, so check compatibility with your wallet provider.
## How much USDSM exists, and can you redeem it?
As of 2026-11-08, USDSM had about 18.27 million tokens in circulation, with total supply also reported at about 18.27 million. No maximum supply is published. The token’s intended 1:1 issuance and redemption against US dollars means supply can change as tokens are issued or redeemed; today’s figure is not a fixed cap or a promise about future demand.
Stable Mint says redemptions are handled through its onboarding and compliance framework. If you are relying on the ability to cash out, check directly with the issuer whether you qualify, what documentation is required, and what terms apply before acquiring USDSM. A quoted dollar peg does not itself give every wallet holder a direct claim on the issuer. Stable Mint does not publish a reserve breakdown or an independent reserve-attestation schedule, so you should not treat the target peg alone as proof of the backing available at any moment.
## How should you store USDSM safely?
For self-custody, choose a wallet that supports the particular network holding your USDSM, and protect the wallet’s recovery phrase offline. Never share that phrase or enter it into a site or app sent to you in an unsolicited message. Check the token address and network in your wallet before approving a transfer, and review transaction details carefully; a mistaken network or address can make funds difficult or impossible to recover.
If you use a custodian or exchange instead, check whether it supports USDSM deposits and withdrawals on the network you intend to use. A service may display a token balance without allowing withdrawals on every supported chain. Keep your wallet software updated and be cautious with token approvals and unfamiliar applications. Stable Mint describes custody and safeguarding policies as part of its operating framework, but that does not remove the need to assess the risks of your wallet, device, custodian and chosen blockchain.
## What risks should you weigh before holding USDSM?
USDSM carries issuer, redemption, market and technical risks. Its value depends on confidence in Stable Mint, its ability to manage backing and redemptions, and the terms under which eligible customers can redeem. Stable Mint is authorised as a Malta electronic money institution and says it operates under the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation framework, but regulatory status does not guarantee that you can redeem immediately or avoid losses.
The market price can move away from $1, as USDSM’s reported historical highs and lows show. Liquidity may also differ between exchanges and networks, affecting the price or ease of a sale. On-chain transfers bring separate risks: sending to an unsupported network, interacting with a fake token, or losing access to your wallet can result in loss. Before holding a significant amount, check the issuer’s current redemption terms and token addresses, and decide whether you can tolerate delays, a depeg or a loss of access.
