## What does holding XSGD mean?

XSGD is a stablecoin designed to represent Singapore dollars on blockchains. It is part of StraitsX’s stablecoin initiative and is described as backed by Singapore dollars. That makes it different from a token whose value is meant to rise: its purpose is to track the Singapore dollar, not to promise a return.

A one-to-one target does not mean every exchange will always quote XSGD at exactly one SGD. Trading prices can move with liquidity and demand. Also, a USD quote is not the same as an SGD peg: on 2026-11-08, XSGD traded at about $0.78 USD, which partly reflects the SGD-to-USD exchange rate. XSGD is described as Travel Rule compliant, but that claim alone does not tell you what protections apply to your particular purchase or wallet. Check the issuer’s current backing and redemption information before relying on a token as cash.

## Which chains and wallets can you use?

XSGD is issued on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Zilliqa, Base, Hedera, the XRP Ledger, Avalanche and Arbitrum. It is not the native coin of any of these networks; it is a token that runs on them. Availability on several chains can make it easier to use XSGD in different apps, but versions on different networks are not interchangeable by simply sending them to one another.

Use a wallet that supports both the specific network and the XSGD token on that network. Before sending, check the selected network and the receiving address, and confirm the recipient supports XSGD on that same chain. Sending a token to an incompatible wallet or choosing the wrong network can make it difficult or impossible to recover. Keep enough of the network’s own transaction token to pay any applicable transfer fee; XSGD itself may not cover that cost. If you use an exchange, check which XSGD networks it accepts for deposits and withdrawals before transferring.

## How much XSGD exists, and can you redeem it?

As of 2026-11-08, XSGD had about 15.98 million tokens in circulation, matching its reported total supply. No maximum supply is listed. Stablecoin supply figures can change as tokens are issued or removed, so treat this as a dated snapshot rather than a fixed limit.

Supply is not a measure of how easily you can redeem or sell your tokens. Your options depend on the issuer’s current rules, the platform you use and the liquidity on the relevant chain. Before holding a large amount, check how the issuer describes its reserves and redemption process, and whether you meet any account or location requirements. If you hold XSGD through an exchange, you also depend on that platform’s ability to process withdrawals; a token balance shown there is not the same as holding the token in your own wallet.

## What can go wrong, and how should you store XSGD?

Your main risks are a loss of confidence in the backing or redemption arrangements, a market price that moves away from the intended SGD value, and problems with the platform or blockchain you use. A stablecoin is not the same as a bank deposit, and its target value is not a guarantee that you can always exchange it for SGD at that rate. Network congestion, smart-contract faults, or a mistake choosing a chain can also delay or jeopardize a transfer.

For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the correct XSGD network, keep your recovery phrase offline and private, and consider a hardware wallet if you are holding a substantial amount. Never share a recovery phrase or sign a transaction you do not understand. For exchange custody, use strong account security and check the platform’s withdrawal terms. Before relying on XSGD for payments or savings, review current issuer disclosures and make sure you understand how to access or redeem your tokens.

XSGD FAQs

Is XSGD pegged to the US dollar?

XSGD is designed to represent Singapore dollars, not US dollars. Its USD trading quote can therefore be below $1 without that alone showing that the SGD target has failed.

Which networks support XSGD?

XSGD is issued on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Zilliqa, Base, Hedera, the XRP Ledger, Avalanche and Arbitrum. Use a wallet and receiving service that support XSGD on the same network you are sending from.

That depends on the issuer’s current redemption rules and your eligibility, as well as the platform you use. Check StraitsX’s current redemption terms rather than assuming that every exchange or wallet balance can be converted directly to SGD.

How do you store XSGD safely?

Use a wallet that supports XSGD on the relevant network, protect your recovery phrase offline and check the chain carefully before sending. A wrong-network transfer, compromised keys or problems with the token’s backing and redemption can put your funds at risk.
