What do you hold when you own USDO?
USDO is a yield-bearing stablecoin issued by OpenEden Digital. It is designed to track the U.S. dollar and is backed by liquid reserves, primarily U.S. Treasury bills and reverse repurchase agreements. OpenEden Digital is licensed by the Bermuda Monetary Authority as a digital asset issuer.
USDO’s rebasing design matters when you hold it: yield may be reflected by a change in your token balance rather than by a separate payment. The amount and timing of any yield are not guaranteed by the dollar peg, and USDO’s current yield rate is not published here. Check how the token handles rebasing before moving it to a wallet or exchange, since some services may not display or support rebasing balances correctly.
USDO may suit you if you want on-chain dollar exposure connected to Treasury-backed reserves. It is not the same as holding dollars in a bank account or owning Treasury bills directly. You still depend on the issuer, its reserve arrangements, the token contracts and the markets where you trade.
Which USDO network and wallet should you use?
USDO has been issued on Ethereum, Solana, Kaia, Base and BNB Chain. It is not the native token of any of these networks. Before sending USDO, confirm that the receiving wallet or exchange supports both USDO and the specific network you plan to use. A token sent on an unsupported network may be difficult or impossible to recover.
For self-custody, choose a wallet that supports the relevant chain and USDO’s rebasing behavior. Check the token identity and network against OpenEden’s official information before adding a token manually; similarly named tokens can be unrelated. Keep your recovery phrase offline and never share it with anyone claiming they need it to verify or restore your wallet.
Cross-chain versions are not automatically interchangeable. Moving USDO between networks may require a supported bridge or a service that handles the transfer, adding extra contract and operational risks. Check the destination network, any transfer costs and whether the service supports the exact USDO version before confirming.
How closely does USDO track one dollar?
As of November 7, 2026, USDO’s circulating and total supply were both about 12.76 million tokens; no maximum supply is published. Its market price was about $0.996, slightly below one dollar. These are dated figures, not a promise that USDO will remain at that price or that you can exchange each token for one dollar at any time.
A stablecoin can trade below or above its intended peg when buyers and sellers are imbalanced, liquidity is thin or confidence in reserves falls. USDO’s reported 24-hour trading volume was about $570 on that date, so check the depth of the specific market before placing a trade; a displayed price may not be available for a larger order.
OpenEden describes USDO as reserve-backed, but the dollar target is not the same as a guaranteed deposit. If you need to redeem directly through the issuer, check whether you qualify and what process and timing apply. Redemption is described for approved users, and conversion can depend on available liquidity. Do not assume every holder can redeem instantly at par.
What can go wrong while you hold USDO?
Holding USDO exposes you to more than ordinary price movement. The peg can weaken, and you may be unable to sell or redeem at your preferred price if market liquidity is limited. Direct redemption is not necessarily available to every holder; approval requirements and the issuer’s process can affect how quickly you can exit.
You also rely on OpenEden Digital and its reserve management, as well as the token contracts on each supported chain. Issuer, custody, operational, regulatory or smart-contract problems could affect transfers, reserves or redemption. A wallet display or exchange balance may also fail to reflect a rebasing token correctly.
Before holding a significant amount, check the current reserve and redemption information, confirm the correct token and network, and test a small transfer if you are unfamiliar with the wallet. Do not treat a stablecoin as risk-free cash, and avoid relying on a single venue or wallet for access to your funds.
