What does holding PYTH let you do?
PYTH is the token associated with Pyth Network, which supplies financial market data to smart contracts and decentralised applications. The network’s oracle feeds are the product; holding PYTH does not itself give you access to a data feed or guarantee a share of revenue.
PYTH is associated with on-chain governance, where holders can participate in votes on network proposals. Staking is also described as part of its role around oracle data quality, but the rules and any benefits or penalties depend on the current protocol setup. Check the specific staking and voting terms before committing tokens. Holding PYTH should not be treated as a promise of income or control over every decision the network makes.
Which chains and wallets can hold PYTH?
PYTH is issued on Solana and Manta. It is not the native gas token of either chain, so you need a wallet that supports the relevant network and the PYTH token there. A wallet displaying PYTH on Solana may not automatically show a Manta-based version, or vice versa.
Before receiving or sending tokens, check the network selected in your wallet and confirm that the recipient supports PYTH on that same network. If you use a self-custody wallet, you control the recovery phrase and are responsible for keeping it private and backed up safely. Custodial services may support only one network or may pause deposits and withdrawals; check their current deposit instructions rather than relying on a token name or ticker alone.
How much PYTH exists, and what can move its price?
PYTH has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens. About 7.87 billion were circulating as of 2026-11-08, so some supply was not yet circulating. Token unlocks or other changes in circulating supply can affect the amount available in the market; check current distribution and release details before relying on an older figure.
Demand may be affected by interest in Pyth’s data feeds, governance participation, broader crypto-market conditions and the availability of PYTH across supported networks. Those factors do not guarantee a particular price movement. As of 2026-11-08, the token’s reported price was about $0.063 and its market capitalisation about $498 million; both figures change continuously. The fully diluted valuation was about $632 million on that date, based on the maximum supply and price.
How do people get and store PYTH?
People generally obtain PYTH through a crypto service that lists it or receive it from another wallet. Availability depends on the service and your location. Check that a platform supports the correct network for deposits and withdrawals, and review its fees, custody terms and withdrawal rules. This is general information, not a recommendation to buy.
For self-custody, use a wallet that explicitly supports PYTH on Solana or Manta. Keep your recovery phrase offline and never share it with anyone claiming to provide support. A small test transfer can help confirm that the address and network are correct before you move a larger amount. For custodial storage, the provider controls the keys; check its security practices and whether you can withdraw PYTH on the chain you need.
What does it cost to move PYTH?
A PYTH transfer requires the relevant network’s transaction fee, paid in that network’s gas asset. The exact cost varies with network conditions and the action you take; fees are not a fixed PYTH charge. Check the fee estimate in your wallet before confirming, and make sure you have enough of the required gas asset in the same network.
Moving PYTH between chains may involve a bridge or another cross-chain service. That can add service fees and waiting time, and may expose you to smart-contract, validator or operational risks. A bridged token may not be interchangeable with a native-issued version everywhere. Confirm the destination chain, token representation and receiving wallet support before starting. If a service quotes a fee, treat it as changeable until the transaction is confirmed.
What risks should you check before holding or using PYTH?
PYTH’s value can fluctuate sharply, and its past price does not predict future performance. As of 2026-11-08, its reported one-year change was about -42%. The network’s usefulness as an oracle service also does not ensure that demand for the token will rise or that holders will receive financial benefits.
Check which chain a token is on before sending it; a wrong-network transfer may be difficult or impossible to recover. Self-custody brings key-loss and phishing risks, while exchanges add platform and withdrawal risks. Oracle users should separately assess feed coverage, update behaviour and security for the specific application they depend on. Do not assume that a data feed or token has been audited just because it is used in a DeFi application; Pyth Network’s audit status is not specified here, so verify current audit and security disclosures directly before relying on it.
What is known about PYTH’s history?
Pyth Network is described as having launched in 2021 and was initially associated with Solana. Its stated purpose is to provide real-time financial market data to applications across multiple blockchains. The token is issued on Solana and Manta, according to the current chain information here; supported chains and token representations can change, so check the network before each transfer.
PYTH reached a reported all-time high of $1.20 on 2024-03-15 and a reported all-time low of about $0.0295 on 2026-06-06. These are historical reference points, not targets or forecasts. The project’s specific launch date and a complete token release schedule are not published here. For decisions that depend on timing, use current token and network information rather than assuming these historical figures remain representative.
By the numbers
Pyth Network in numbers
Pyth Network (PYTH) is ranked #104 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $498M and a price of $0.0632 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $632M, so roughly 79% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 4.2% over 7 days, down 22.5% over 30 days, down 41.8% over the past year. It trades about 95% below its all-time high of $1.20, set on Mar 15, 2024.
About 7.87B PYTH are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 10B (79% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $16.6M, or 3.3% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
PYTH has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Solana, Manta. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

PYTH FAQs
What is PYTH used for?
PYTH is associated with governance voting on Pyth Network proposals. Staking is also described as part of its role around oracle data quality, but check current protocol rules before assuming what staking does or whether it offers benefits.
Which networks support PYTH?
PYTH is issued on Solana and Manta. Use a wallet that supports the token on the specific network you plan to use, and confirm the recipient accepts that same network.
What is PYTH’s maximum supply?
PYTH’s maximum supply is 10 billion, with about 7.87 billion circulating as of 2026-11-08. Circulating supply can change, so check for current release and distribution information.
Does it cost money to transfer PYTH?
You need the relevant network’s gas asset to pay for a transfer, and the amount varies with network conditions. A cross-chain move can add bridge fees and risks; confirm the token representation and destination network first.
Does holding PYTH guarantee access to Pyth data feeds?
No. A token transfer or wallet display does not establish that a specific Pyth feed is suitable or secure for your application. Check feed coverage, behaviour and current security disclosures before relying on it.
