What do you get by holding or staking OGN?

OGN is Origin Protocol’s governance and value-accrual token. If you stake it, you receive xOGN, which gives you voting and economic rights across Origin’s products while the stake is locked. Staking periods range from one month to one year; the amount of xOGN you receive depends on both the OGN staked and the lock duration.

Origin says it takes performance fees from its yield-generating products. Half of those fees go to OGN stakers as extra rewards, while the other half is used to buy tokens intended to boost yield in the underlying protocols. That means rewards depend on product performance and fees, rather than being a guaranteed fixed return. Origin also describes OGN stakers as members of its DAO, which votes on proposals and treasury allocations.

Before staking, check the current lock terms, how rewards are calculated, and what happens when a lock ends. Origin does not publish a fixed staking APR in the token details here, so do not assume a particular return.

Which networks support OGN, and how much exists?

OGN is issued on Ethereum, Base and Sonic. It is not listed as the native token of any of those chains, so choose the correct network when receiving or sending it. A wallet or exchange may support OGN on one network but not another. Sending tokens to an address using an unsupported network can make them difficult or impossible to recover.

As of November 8, 2026, about 749.3 million OGN were circulating, out of a total and maximum supply of about 1.41 billion. The difference between circulating and total supply is relevant when assessing potential dilution, but those figures alone do not explain when or how additional tokens may enter circulation. Check current supply information before making a decision, since token figures can change.

If you are moving OGN between chains, confirm which network and transfer method you are using, and check any bridge’s terms and risks. Do not rely on the token symbol alone: verify that the asset and network match the destination wallet or platform.

How can you store OGN without mixing up networks?

You can keep OGN in a wallet that supports the network where your tokens are held. For Ethereum, Base or Sonic, check the wallet’s network support and make sure you can view the correct OGN balance before transferring. Hardware wallets can help protect private keys from online threats, but you still need to secure the recovery phrase and confirm transaction details on the device.

For safer self-custody:

  • Get the token’s contract address from an official Origin Protocol channel, then check it carefully before adding a token to your wallet.
  • Send a small test amount when practical, especially if you have not used that network or destination before.
  • Never share your recovery phrase or approve a transaction you do not understand.
  • Keep a separate record of which network holds your OGN; balances on different networks may not appear in the same wallet view.

If you stake OGN, use the official interface and review the contract permissions and lock period before approving. A wallet connection does not itself verify that a website or transaction is legitimate.

What could go wrong with OGN or its staking?

OGN carries market risk: its price can fall sharply, and there is no guaranteed return from holding or staking it. Staking also limits access to the amount you lock for the chosen period, which can be as long as one year. Review the withdrawal and end-of-lock process before committing funds.

Staking rewards rely on performance fees from Origin’s yield products. If those products generate fewer fees, rewards may be lower; the products themselves may also face smart-contract, market or operational problems. Governance rights give stakers a way to vote, but they do not guarantee that proposals will protect the token’s value or that you will agree with decisions made by other voters.

OGN exists across multiple networks, adding the risk of selecting the wrong chain or using a faulty bridge. Check the destination network, token contract and transaction approvals each time. The circulating supply is also below the stated total and maximum supply, so consider potential supply changes; the token details do not specify a release schedule. Only commit funds you can afford to lose, and avoid treating projected yield as certain.

By the numbers

Origin Token in numbers

Origin Token (OGN) is ranked #913 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $17.0M and a price of $0.0227 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $32.0M, so roughly 53% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 6.3% over 7 days, down 45.9% over 30 days, down 47.1% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $3.35, set on Apr 8, 2021.

About 749.29M OGN are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1.41B (53% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $1.60M, or 9.4% of its market cap: high turnover.

OGN has token contracts on 3 chains we track, including Ethereum, Base, Sonic. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups OGN under DeFi tokens.

OGN FAQs

Which networks can you hold OGN on?

OGN is issued on Ethereum, Base and Sonic. Confirm that your wallet or exchange supports the specific network you intend to use, and verify the token contract before sending funds.

What happens when you stake OGN?

Staking OGN gives you xOGN, which carries voting and economic rights during the lock period. The stated lock options range from one month to one year, and rewards are tied to fees from Origin’s yield products rather than a guaranteed fixed rate.

What is OGN’s circulating supply?

As of November 8, 2026, about 749.3 million OGN were circulating, with total and maximum supply of about 1.41 billion. Supply figures can change, so check an up-to-date token record before relying on them.

Is staking OGN risk-free?

OGN can lose value, staking locks up tokens for a set period, and rewards depend on performance fees from Origin’s products. Smart-contract, bridge, network and governance risks also apply.

What is the market cap of Origin Token?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Origin Token had a market cap of about $17.0M, ranking #913 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of OGN?

Origin Token's all-time high is $3.35, reached on Apr 8, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.0142 (Jul 1, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of OGN?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 749.29M OGN were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 1.41B.

Which blockchains is OGN on?

It has token contracts on Ethereum, Base, Sonic.
