## What does holding AEVO give you?
AEVO is the token associated with Aevo, a decentralized derivatives exchange offering options and perpetual futures. The exchange operates on a custom Ethereum Layer 2, while AEVO is issued on Ethereum. These are related but different facts: holding AEVO on Ethereum does not automatically put it on the exchange’s Layer 2 or give you a trading position.
AEVO has been described as a governance and staking token. Those uses can depend on current platform support and rules, so check the live Aevo interface and documentation before sending tokens or expecting rewards. The token is not the same thing as a derivative contract: buying AEVO does not itself open an options or perpetual-futures position.
As of 2026-11-08, about 932.7 million of AEVO’s 1 billion total and maximum supply were reported as circulating. Supply figures can change, and a maximum supply does not mean every token is already circulating. Treat token utility and supply as separate questions when deciding what you would hold.
## Which wallet and network should you use for AEVO?
AEVO is issued on Ethereum, so you need a wallet that supports Ethereum tokens to hold it directly. Common wallet types include browser, mobile and hardware wallets; support for Ethereum alone is not enough if the wallet or exchange does not recognize the correct AEVO asset. Before receiving tokens, confirm the network and token identity in the wallet or service you plan to use. Do not rely on a ticker symbol by itself, since different assets can share a symbol.
Aevo’s trading venue uses a custom Ethereum Layer 2, according to descriptions of the exchange. That does not establish that AEVO itself is issued natively on that Layer 2. Check Aevo’s current deposit and withdrawal instructions before moving assets between Ethereum and the trading venue, and make sure you understand any bridging step. Sending tokens on the wrong network can make recovery difficult or impossible.
For self-custody, keep your recovery phrase offline and private. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure to malware, but it cannot protect you from signing a malicious transaction or entering the phrase on a fake site.
## What can AEVO cost you beyond its market price?
If you hold AEVO, the main costs are usually transaction fees for moving or approving the token, plus any fees charged by the wallet, exchange or service you use. Ethereum network fees vary with demand; they are not fixed by the token. Check the transaction summary before confirming, especially when interacting with a bridge or a smart contract.
Trading options or perpetual futures on Aevo is a separate activity from holding AEVO. Derivatives can involve trading fees, funding payments, spreads and liquidation, depending on the position and current platform rules. Confirm the fee schedule and how collateral is handled before placing an order. Do not assume that holding or staking the token removes trading costs.
The exchange’s custom Layer 2 may have its own deposit, withdrawal and settlement steps. Review the current instructions for those actions before transferring funds. If the cost or timing is unclear, pause rather than sending a test amount you cannot afford to lose.
## What are the main risks of holding or using AEVO?
AEVO can lose value, and its market price can move sharply. As of 2026-11-08, its reported market capitalization was about $17.7 million and its fully diluted valuation about $19.0 million; both are estimates that change with price and circulating supply. These figures are not a forecast or a measure of what you could sell your holdings for.
There are also risks specific to the exchange. Options and perpetual futures can magnify losses, and leveraged positions may be liquidated. A decentralized venue can still depend on smart contracts, an exchange interface, a Layer 2 network and any bridge used to move assets. Bugs, outages, incorrect transactions or compromised credentials may cause losses. Governance or staking features also carry contract and operational risks; rewards, if offered, are not guaranteed.
Before using Aevo, check its current risk controls, custody arrangements, fees and withdrawal process. For a token you hold in a personal wallet, secure the recovery phrase and verify every transaction. Never share the phrase with someone claiming to provide support.

What blockchain is AEVO on?
AEVO is issued on Ethereum. Aevo’s trading venue is described as running on a custom Ethereum Layer 2, but that does not mean the token is natively issued on that Layer 2. Confirm the network before transferring.
What is the AEVO token used for?
AEVO has been described as a governance and staking token. Check Aevo’s current documentation and interface to confirm which features are active and what conditions apply; holding the token does not automatically earn rewards.
