What does holding LSK give you?
LSK is described as Lisk’s loyalty token, rather than a share in the company or a stablecoin. Lisk says businesses will be able to earn and spend LSK on its platform for managing fiat and stablecoin funds, payments and approvals. That gives the token a possible role in the newer business-finance service, but it does not guarantee demand: the value depends in part on whether businesses use the platform and whether LSK has useful rewards or spending options.
Lisk has also announced a shift away from its blockchain toward this finance service. It said it planned to shut down the Lisk blockchain on October 31, 2026. That date has passed, so check the current status before relying on the old network for transfers or staking. Don’t assume historical uses, such as network fees or delegator rewards, still apply. LSK’s token role and the services available to holders may change as the business platform develops.
Which LSK network should you use?
Lisk identifies Ethereum as LSK’s primary network. The token is also listed as native to Lisk and issued on Ethereum, Base and Hyperliquid L1. These network labels do not mean every wallet or exchange supports every version, or that tokens on different networks can be sent directly between them.
Before you deposit or withdraw, check the network name and token contract shown by the service you are using. The sending and receiving networks must match. If you use a self-custody wallet, confirm it supports the correct network and can display or manage the specific LSK token. Ethereum token transfers generally require ETH for network fees; other networks have their own fee assets. Since Lisk’s planned blockchain shutdown date has passed, verify that the Lisk network is still operating and that your chosen provider accepts deposits on it. A transfer sent to an unsupported network may be difficult or impossible to recover.
How much LSK is in circulation?
As of November 8, 2026, LSK has a maximum supply of 300 million tokens, with about 220.2 million in circulation. The total supply is also listed as 300 million. The gap between circulating supply and the cap is about 79.8 million tokens, but the cap alone does not tell you when or how those tokens might enter circulation.
Supply figures can change, so check a current token balance or market listing before making a decision. For context, LSK traded at about $0.18 on November 8, 2026, with a market capitalization of about $40 million. Those are snapshots, not a guarantee of what you could receive when selling: trading prices and available liquidity can move quickly. A maximum supply does not protect LSK from price declines, and it does not establish future demand for the token.
How can you store LSK without a network mistake?
For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the network your LSK is on. Keep the recovery phrase offline and private; anyone who obtains it may be able to take the tokens. Never share it with someone claiming they need it to verify, unlock or migrate your LSK.
Before moving a large balance:
- Confirm the receiving wallet supports both the network and the exact LSK token.
- Check the deposit network and token details with the exchange or wallet.
- Send a small test amount first, and make sure you have the network’s fee token for later transfers.
- Keep a record of which network holds each balance.
If you leave LSK on an exchange, you avoid managing a recovery phrase, but depend on the exchange’s custody, withdrawal availability and network support. Neither option removes the risk of sending to the wrong address or using a compromised device.
What could go wrong if you hold LSK?
The clearest project-specific risk is the transition away from Lisk’s blockchain. Lisk announced that it planned to shut the chain down on October 31, 2026; because that date has passed, confirm the chain’s current status and any instructions for tokens held there. Don’t assume an old staking, transfer or wallet process remains available. Lisk’s newer platform also depends on businesses adopting it and on LSK having a practical role within its services; that adoption is not guaranteed.
LSK can lose value, and a quoted market price does not tell you how easily you could sell a particular amount. Multi-network tokens add risks such as unsupported deposits, incorrect contract details and problems with bridges or third-party services. Check the network and token details independently before moving funds, and be cautious of unsolicited migration offers. Never give anyone your recovery phrase or sign a transaction you do not understand.
By the numbers
Lisk in numbers
Lisk (LSK) is ranked #516 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $40.0M and a price of $0.1819 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $54.6M, so roughly 73% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 20.1% over 7 days, down 22.2% over 30 days, down 11.0% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $34.92, set on Jan 6, 2018.
About 220.17M LSK are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 300M (73% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $11.0M, or 27% of its market cap: very high turnover.
LSK is the native token of Lisk; it also has token contracts on 3 chains we track, including Ethereum, Hyperliquid L1, Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
