What does holding CSPR let you do?

CSPR is the token used on Casper Network, a proof-of-stake Layer 1 blockchain launched in March 2021. The network is built for smart contracts and applications, including tokenized real-world assets. Its design includes upgradable contracts, access controls at the protocol level and support for multiple virtual machines.

As a holder, the practical uses of CSPR are paying network transaction fees and participating in staking to help secure the chain. Search-result claims also describe governance uses, but check Casper’s current rules before assuming that holding CSPR gives you a particular voting right. CSPR is not a claim on an asset represented by a tokenized product: the rights attached to those assets depend on their own terms and contracts.

The network uses Zug Consensus, described as providing deterministic finality. That technical design does not remove the usual risks of smart-contract errors, outages or changing adoption. Treat CSPR as a volatile crypto asset, not a guaranteed way to gain exposure to real-world assets.

Which chain and wallet should you use for CSPR?

CSPR is the native token for Casper Network. It is not an Ethereum or Bitcoin token by default, so do not assume an address or wallet that supports those assets can receive CSPR. Use a wallet that explicitly supports Casper and confirm that the asset is the native CSPR token before sending.

Casper’s developer materials describe support for Rust and WebAssembly smart contracts, along with JavaScript, Python and Go SDKs. Those are tools for building applications; they do not mean that every wallet or app using those languages supports CSPR. If you are moving tokens from an exchange, check that its withdrawal network is Casper Network and that your receiving wallet can access the funds on that network.

Before a large transfer, send a small test amount if practical. Check the address carefully, and keep enough CSPR available for network fees. A transfer sent through the wrong network or to an incompatible address may be difficult or impossible to recover.

How much CSPR exists, and is there a supply cap?

As of 2026-11-08, Casper’s reported circulating supply is about 17.44 billion CSPR, against a total supply of about 20.16 billion. A maximum supply has not been specified in the project facts, so you should not treat the total supply figure as a hard cap or assume that the difference is a scheduled unlock. Supply can change as tokens are issued, distributed or otherwise accounted for.

These numbers matter if you are comparing circulating supply with total supply, but they do not tell you how CSPR will perform. Market capitalization and trading prices also move, sometimes sharply, and are not measures of network security or the value of tokenized assets built on Casper.

If supply changes are important to your decision, check current network tokenomics and distribution details before acting. Avoid relying on an old screenshot or a supply figure without its date; compare circulating and total supply on the same reporting date.

What should you check before staking CSPR?

Staking CSPR can support Casper’s proof-of-stake consensus and may earn rewards. In general, staking means tokens are committed to network security, directly or through a validator. Rewards are not guaranteed, and the amount you receive can depend on network rules and validator performance. Search-result claims also describe penalties for validator misconduct, including double-signing; understand whether and how a penalty could affect delegated tokens before choosing a validator.

CSPR is also used to pay transaction fees. Keep some accessible rather than staking or storing your entire balance in a way that leaves you unable to pay for transfers. The exact fee and any staking lockup or unbonding period can depend on network conditions and current protocol rules; check those details before you stake or move funds.

Compare validators using current performance, commission and operating information, where available. Do not choose one solely because it advertises a high reward, and remember that staking does not protect you from CSPR price declines.

How can you store CSPR without overlooking the risks?

For long-term storage, use a wallet that explicitly supports Casper, protect its recovery phrase offline and never share that phrase with a person, website or support account. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure to malware when used correctly, but check that its current software supports Casper and that you understand its recovery process. Keep a separate, secure backup; losing the recovery phrase can mean losing access to your tokens.

CSPR carries market risk: its price can fall substantially, and a token’s usefulness does not guarantee demand. Staking adds validator and protocol risks, while smart contracts and applications on Casper can have bugs or be exploited. Tokenized real-world assets may also involve legal, issuer and redemption risks that are separate from the blockchain.

Check the address and network before every transfer, beware of fake wallet updates and unsolicited staking offers, and test a new destination with a small transfer. Never share your recovery phrase to fix a transaction or claim rewards.

By the numbers

Casper Network in numbers

Casper Network (CSPR) is ranked #555 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $36.1M and a price of $0.002068 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $41.7M, so roughly 86% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 1.0% over 7 days, down 17.2% over 30 days, down 73.3% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $1.33, set on May 11, 2021.

About 17.44B CSPR are in circulation, from a total supply of 20.16B. No hard maximum supply is listed.

24-hour trading volume was about $1.91M, or 5.3% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

CoinGecko groups CSPR under Layer 1 tokens, Real-world asset (RWA) tokens.

CSPR FAQs

What is CSPR used for?

CSPR is the native token of Casper Network, a proof-of-stake Layer 1 blockchain. It is used for network fees and staking; verify any claimed governance rights against current network rules.

Which wallet can hold CSPR?

CSPR is native to Casper Network, so use a wallet that specifically supports Casper. Confirm the receiving address and withdrawal network before sending, as an incompatible transfer may not be recoverable.

Can you stake CSPR?

Staking can help secure the network and may earn rewards, but rewards are not guaranteed. Check validator performance, commissions, lockup terms and possible penalties before committing tokens.

What is the CSPR supply?

As of 2026-11-08, reported circulating supply was about 17.44 billion CSPR and total supply about 20.16 billion. A maximum supply was not specified, so these figures do not establish a fixed cap.

What are the main risks of holding CSPR?

CSPR can lose value, and staking, wallet or smart-contract failures can cause additional losses. Protect your recovery phrase, check network details before transfers and treat tokenized-asset risks separately from blockchain risks.

What is the market cap of Casper Network?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Casper Network had a market cap of about $36.1M, ranking #555 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of CSPR?

Casper Network's all-time high is $1.33, reached on May 11, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.001460 (Jul 21, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of CSPR?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 17.44B CSPR were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.
