Owning KNTQ: Uses, Storage and Risks

## What does holding KNTQ give you?
KNTQ is Kinetiq’s protocol token, intended to give holders a voice in the project’s governance and future direction. That does not make it the same as a receipt for staked HYPE, or mean that simply holding KNTQ earns staking rewards. Kinetiq’s liquid-staking product issues kHYPE when users stake HYPE; kHYPE is the asset associated with that staking position.
Kinetiq also describes projects including Elysium, a Layer 2 for Hyperliquid, and Markets.xyz, a derivatives venue. Those products are part of the wider Kinetiq ecosystem, but their existence does not establish that KNTQ holders receive revenue, discounts, or other benefits. The project has not published enough detail here to confirm how governance works in practice, such as voting eligibility, proposal rules, or whether votes can change protocol parameters. If you hold KNTQ for a specific right or reward, check the current token rules rather than assuming it comes with the token.
## Is KNTQ the same as Kinetiq’s kHYPE?
No. KNTQ is Kinetiq’s governance-oriented token; kHYPE is a liquid-staking token representing HYPE deposited through Kinetiq. Their names are similar, but they serve different purposes and are not interchangeable by definition.
Staking HYPE for kHYPE is not the same as staking KNTQ. Any staking yield, unstaking period, or fee associated with kHYPE should not be treated as a KNTQ benefit. Kinetiq’s kHYPE terms need particular care: reward-fee and unstaking claims have been described inconsistently, so verify the current rules and withdrawal process before depositing HYPE. That uncertainty is relevant if you use the staking product, but it does not establish that KNTQ itself can be unstaked or redeemed for HYPE.
Before sending either asset, check its name, ticker, and network in your wallet and on the receiving service. A mistaken transfer between similarly named tokens or to an unsupported network can be difficult or impossible to reverse.
## Which network and wallet can hold KNTQ?
KNTQ is issued on Hyperliquid L1. It is not listed as the native token of a blockchain, and no other issuance chain is identified here. That makes the network selection important: choose Hyperliquid L1 when a wallet or service asks which network to use, and confirm that the recipient supports KNTQ on that chain before transferring.
Use a wallet that explicitly supports Hyperliquid L1 assets. No particular wallet is specified as the required option, so check support directly rather than assuming a wallet can display or send KNTQ because it supports another network. Keep your recovery phrase offline and private; anyone with access to it may be able to control the assets. For a token held through an exchange or another custodian, the provider controls the keys and its withdrawal support and policies matter.
If you encounter a wrapped or bridged KNTQ representation elsewhere, do not assume it is interchangeable with the Hyperliquid L1 token. Confirm what backs it, how redemption works, and whether you can move it back to the chain you intend to use.
## How much KNTQ exists, and what can move its value?
KNTQ has a maximum and total supply of 1 billion tokens. About 321.5 million were circulating as of 2026-11-08, so the circulating amount was well below the maximum. The project’s full release schedule, future unlock dates, and the timing of any additional supply entering circulation are not specified here. Those details can affect how much tradable supply is available over time.
As of 2026-11-08, KNTQ traded at about $0.485, with a market capitalization of about $155.9 million and a fully diluted valuation of about $484.7 million. These figures change, and a fully diluted valuation is not the same as current market value or cash available to holders. The token was about 15% lower over the preceding seven days on that date; this is a historical snapshot, not a forecast.
Supply releases, changes in demand, governance developments, and broader crypto-market conditions can all affect trading. There is no reliable way to infer a future price from the supply figures alone.
## How can you get, store, and transfer KNTQ?
You may receive KNTQ through a supported exchange or by transferring it from another holder, where those options are available to you. The specific venues and purchase routes are not established here, so confirm that a service supports the actual Hyperliquid L1 token before using it. This is general information, not a recommendation to buy.
To store it yourself, use a wallet that supports KNTQ on Hyperliquid L1 and keep your recovery phrase secure offline. For a transfer, check the asset, network, destination address, and any memo or other details the receiving service requires. A small test transfer can help you catch an address or network mistake, though it may mean paying a fee twice.
Moving KNTQ can involve a Hyperliquid L1 network fee. The exact fee is not published here and may vary with network conditions. Moving a token across chains may also involve a bridge, which can add fees, delays, and smart-contract or custody risks. Do not assume a bridge is required or that every wrapped version is supported; check the route and recipient requirements first.
## What risks should you check before holding KNTQ?
KNTQ’s governance role depends on the project continuing to operate and on governance having practical, clearly defined powers. The project’s voting mechanics and token release schedule are not specified here, so you should not assume that holding a particular amount guarantees influence or that all tokens are already circulating.
There are also ordinary crypto risks: KNTQ’s market price can move sharply, trading may be thin, and tokens held with a custodian may be affected by that provider’s restrictions or failure. Self-custody avoids relying on a custodian for access, but puts the responsibility for keys and correct transfers on you. A mistaken transaction may not be reversible.
Keep KNTQ-related risks separate from kHYPE risks. If you also stake HYPE through Kinetiq, check the live reward fee, unstaking conditions, and liquidity available for kHYPE before depositing; inconsistent claims make independent confirmation especially important. Neither governance use nor staking-related ecosystem activity guarantees a return.
## What is known about KNTQ’s history?
KNTQ’s recorded all-time low was about $0.0358 on 2025-12-17, and its recorded all-time high was about $0.5962 on 2026-10-30. As of 2026-11-08, its price was about $0.485. These are historical observations, not targets or guidance about what the token may do next.
A launch date is not established here, and a one-year performance figure is not available. The key known context is that Kinetiq operates in the Hyperliquid ecosystem and has a liquid-staking product that issues kHYPE, while KNTQ is described as its governance token. When evaluating the token, keep those roles distinct and check current governance rules, supply information, and network support. Historical highs and lows alone do not tell you whether a token is fairly valued or whether its market will remain liquid.
By the numbers

Kinetiq (KNTQ) is ranked #197 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $156M and a price of $0.4847 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $485M, so roughly 32% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 15.3% over 7 days, up 68.6% over 30 days. It trades about 19% below its all-time high of $0.5962, set on Oct 30, 2026.
About 321.52M KNTQ are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (32% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $4.24M, or 2.7% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
KNTQ has token contracts on Hyperliquid L1. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
KNTQ is linked to Kinetiq kHYPE, which we cover in our Staking rankings. See our Kinetiq kHYPE page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

KNTQ is described as Kinetiq’s governance token, intended to give holders a voice in the project’s direction. The project’s detailed voting rules and the practical scope of that influence are not specified here.
Is KNTQ the same as kHYPE?
No. KNTQ is the governance-oriented token, while kHYPE is issued for HYPE staked through Kinetiq. Do not assume KNTQ earns the rewards associated with kHYPE.
Which blockchain is KNTQ on?
KNTQ is issued on Hyperliquid L1. Use a wallet or service that explicitly supports that asset on that network, and verify the network before sending it.
