## What does holding GMX get you?
Holding GMX gives you a token used for protocol governance and staking. Staking may qualify you for protocol rewards, including fee-related rewards, but the amount can vary with exchange activity and the protocol’s current distribution rules. Check the live staking terms before relying on any expected return.
GMX is also the name of the exchange, where users can trade spot assets and perpetual contracts from self-custody wallets. The exchange supports more than 70 assets and offers leverage of up to 100x. Those trading features belong to the exchange, not to GMX token ownership: holding GMX does not automatically give you a trading balance or make leveraged trading safer. Liquidity provision is a separate activity using GM pools and GLV vaults, with its own risks. In short, GMX’s direct uses are governance and staking; trading and liquidity provision require separate actions and carry separate exposure.
## Which networks and wallets support GMX?
GMX tokens are issued on Arbitrum and Avalanche. The GMX exchange also operates on Solana, but that does not mean a GMX token sent on Solana is interchangeable with tokens on those EVM networks. Check the network and token contract shown by your wallet or exchange before receiving or transferring GMX.
You can generally store the token in a self-custody wallet that supports the relevant EVM network, or leave it with a custodial platform that supports GMX deposits. With self-custody, protect your recovery phrase offline and never share it; losing it can mean losing access. A transfer to an incompatible network or address may be irreversible. If you stake GMX, confirm whether the staking interface requires a separate position or receipt token, and understand how to exit it. Wallet and staking arrangements can change, so verify current compatibility before moving funds.
## How much GMX exists, and what can move its price?
As of 2026-11-08, GMX had about 10.7 million tokens in circulation and total supply, against a maximum supply of 13.25 million. Its reported price was about $7.99, with a market capitalization near $85 million. These figures can change, and market prices can move sharply; they are not a forecast.
GMX’s market value can respond to demand for the token, expectations about staking rewards and governance, exchange use, broader crypto-market conditions, and confidence in the protocol. Trading activity or protocol revenue does not guarantee a matching change in token price or reward levels. GMX’s reported all-time high was $91.07 on 2023-04-18; its reported all-time low was $4.81 on 2026-07-01. Past prices only describe earlier trading and do not indicate what the token will be worth next.
## How do people get and store GMX?
You may obtain GMX through a cryptocurrency platform that lists it, or swap for it using a compatible self-custody wallet and decentralized exchange. Availability, verification requirements and withdrawal support depend on the service and where you live. Check that you are selecting the intended GMX token on Arbitrum or Avalanche, rather than a similarly named asset or an unsupported network.
Before a transfer, compare the withdrawal network offered by the sending service with the receiving wallet’s network. A token can appear in a wallet only after the correct network and token details are selected. For self-custody, test your address carefully and keep your recovery phrase private. This is general information about ways people access and hold tokens, not a recommendation to acquire GMX. If you already hold it on a custodial platform, confirm whether withdrawals are enabled and which networks that platform supports.
## What can a GMX transfer or trade cost?
Moving GMX usually requires a network transaction fee, paid in that network’s gas token rather than necessarily in GMX. On-chain swaps can add trading fees and price impact. If you bridge GMX between Arbitrum and Avalanche, expect bridge-related costs and possible waiting time; using a bridge also adds another smart-contract and operational risk. Fees vary with network demand and the route you choose, so check the total shown before confirming.
The exchange has additional costs for trading that are separate from simply transferring the token. Perpetual trading can involve trading fees, funding payments and other position costs; these vary with market conditions and the position. GMX does not publish one fixed fee that applies to every transfer, bridge or trade. Leverage can magnify losses, and liquidation may close a position before you choose to exit. You can hold GMX without using the trading products, but even a simple transfer can be costly when network fees are high.
## What could go wrong with GMX?
GMX carries smart-contract and operational risks: a bug, exploit, oracle problem or failure in a bridge or wallet could cause losses or interrupt access. Governance decisions can also change protocol rules or reward arrangements. Staking and liquidity provision are not risk-free ways to earn; returns can vary, and deposited assets may be exposed to contract or market risks. GMX does not guarantee a token price or a particular reward.
The token’s reported trading history includes a peak in April 2023 and a low in July 2026, but the project’s launch date is not established here. Before using the exchange, check which network and product you are using, read current fees and withdrawal terms, and avoid signing transactions you do not understand. For perpetuals, decide in advance how much you can afford to lose; high leverage can rapidly exhaust collateral. Keep recovery details secure and treat unexpected messages asking you to connect a wallet or share a seed phrase as potential scams.

GMX (GMX) is ranked #293 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $85.4M and a price of $7.99 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($85.4M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 3.0% over 7 days, down 1.5% over 30 days, down 17.8% over the past year. It trades about 91% below its all-time high of $91.07, set on Apr 18, 2023.
About 10.7M GMX are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 13.25M (81% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $3.50M, or 4.1% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
GMX has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Arbitrum, Avalanche. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
GMX is linked to Gmx, which we cover in our Derivatives rankings. See our Gmx page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

GMX FAQs
What is the GMX token used for?
GMX is used for protocol governance and staking. Staking may provide access to variable protocol rewards, but holding the token alone does not guarantee a specific return.
Which blockchain is GMX on?
GMX tokens are issued on Arbitrum and Avalanche. The exchange also operates on Solana, but check network support and token details rather than assuming GMX transfers across chains automatically.
How do I store GMX?
You can generally use a self-custody wallet that supports the EVM network holding your GMX, or a custodial platform that supports GMX deposits. Confirm the network and token contract before receiving funds.
Does it cost anything to transfer GMX?
A token transfer generally requires a network gas fee, and a bridge or swap can add costs. Fees vary with network conditions and route; check the amount before confirming.
Does holding GMX mean I am using leverage?
GMX token ownership does not automatically mean you are trading with leverage. The exchange offers perpetual contracts with leverage, which can magnify losses and lead to liquidation.
What is the market cap of GMX?
As of Nov 8, 2026, GMX had a market cap of about $85.4M, ranking #293 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of GMX?
GMX's all-time high is $91.07, reached on Apr 18, 2023. Its all-time low is $4.81 (Jul 1, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
