What does holding AZTEC let you do?

AZTEC is associated with Aztec, a privacy-focused Layer 2 built on Ethereum. The network is designed for applications that can protect users’ privacy while remaining permissionless. That does not mean holding AZTEC automatically makes your transactions private: privacy depends on the application, the way you use it and what information is recorded publicly.

Public descriptions list staking, governance and block rewards as token roles. Those labels do not tell you the exact staking terms, voting rights or reward formula, so check the current rules before committing tokens. Also distinguish Aztec from similarly named services: the fact that a project called Aztecswap offers staking does not establish that it is an official Aztec product. Verify any staking app and token contract through Aztec’s own channels before connecting your wallet.

Which networks and wallets can hold AZTEC?

AZTEC has been issued on Ethereum and Hyperliquid L1. A wallet must support the relevant network and token standard to display or transfer your tokens; seeing an AZTEC balance on one network does not mean the same balance is available on another. Check the network and contract address before receiving, sending or trading it, especially if a service offers a bridged or wrapped version.

Use a self-custody wallet only if you can securely manage its recovery phrase, and never share that phrase or sign a transaction you do not understand. A token listing or wallet search result is not enough to confirm an address: scammers can create tokens with matching names and symbols. Confirm the official contract details with Aztec, then send a small test amount when appropriate. Exchange custody may be simpler, but it means relying on the exchange to safeguard and release your AZTEC.

How much AZTEC exists, and what could change?

As of 2026-11-08, about 3.00 billion AZTEC were circulating, against a total and maximum supply of 10.35 billion. The difference matters: circulating supply is only the portion reported as in circulation, while the larger total supply can affect how you assess dilution. Supply figures can change, so treat these as a dated snapshot rather than a permanent count.

The project details here do not specify a release schedule, allocation breakdown or how much of the uncirculated supply may enter circulation and when. Check current token documentation for those details before relying on a particular dilution estimate. Market prices and trading conditions also move; a quoted price is not a measure of the token’s utility or a promise of future value. Do not commit money you may need, and avoid treating past price movements as a forecast.

How can you store AZTEC more safely?

For self-custody, store your recovery phrase offline in a private, secure place. Do not enter it into a website or give it to anyone claiming to provide support. Consider a hardware wallet if you hold an amount that justifies the added setup and recovery steps, and test your recovery process before relying on it.

Before using a staking or governance app, verify its identity and the AZTEC contract on the correct network. Read each wallet prompt: a signature can authorize more than a simple login, including token spending or other contract actions. Keep some of the network’s required gas token available for transactions, and review approvals you no longer need. If you use an exchange, enable account protections and understand its withdrawal rules. A wallet protects your keys; it cannot reverse a mistaken transfer or make a malicious contract safe.

What could go wrong when you hold AZTEC?

AZTEC carries the usual token risks, plus risks tied to a Layer 2 ecosystem. Smart-contract bugs, compromised keys, malicious apps or faulty bridges can lead to losses. Ethereum-based scaling systems also rely on technical and operational components; an outage or disruption can affect access even when the underlying Ethereum network is working. Privacy features do not guarantee anonymity, and public transactions or application choices may expose information.

The token’s market price can fall sharply, and liquidity can change. Staking may add lock-up, withdrawal or smart-contract risks; do not assume rewards are guaranteed or that you can exit immediately. Governance power and block-reward rules may depend on network changes. Before using AZTEC, check the exact contract, network, app permissions and current terms. Never rely on a similarly named staking service as proof of an official connection.

By the numbers

Aztec in numbers

Aztec (AZTEC) is ranked #518 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $39.7M and a price of $0.0133 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $137M, so roughly 29% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 9.8% over 7 days, down 8.8% over 30 days. It trades about 67% below its all-time high of $0.0399, set on Feb 20, 2026.

About 3B AZTEC are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 10.35B (29% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $885K, or 2.2% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

AZTEC has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, Hyperliquid L1. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

AZTEC is linked to Aztecswap, which we cover in our Staking rankings. See our Aztecswap page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

AZTEC FAQs

Can you stake AZTEC?

Public descriptions list staking, governance and block rewards as AZTEC roles. The exact staking conditions and reward rules are not specified here, so verify the current terms and app before depositing tokens.

Which blockchain is AZTEC on?

AZTEC has been issued on Ethereum and Hyperliquid L1. Confirm the network and official contract address before transferring it, since tokens with the same name on other networks may be unrelated.

What is the AZTEC token supply?

As of 2026-11-08, about 3.00 billion AZTEC were circulating, with total and maximum supply of 10.35 billion. Supply figures can change, and the project details here do not give a release schedule.

Does AZTEC make transactions private?

No. Aztec is a privacy-focused Layer 2, but holding AZTEC does not by itself make your activity private or anonymous. Privacy depends on the application and how you use it.

Is Aztecswap an official place to stake AZTEC?

Not necessarily. A service using a similar name is not proof of an official connection; verify the app, token contract and network through Aztec’s own channels before connecting your wallet.

What is the market cap of Aztec?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Aztec had a market cap of about $39.7M, ranking #518 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of AZTEC?

Aztec's all-time high is $0.0399, reached on Feb 20, 2026. Its all-time low is $0.0113 (Aug 18, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of AZTEC?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 3B AZTEC were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 10.35B.

Which blockchains is AZTEC on?

It has token contracts on Ethereum, Hyperliquid L1.
