What does YB do in Yield Basis?
YB is Yield Basis’s governance token. The protocol is designed for liquidity provision through automated market-maker (AMM) pools, while YB’s described role includes governance, locking and influence over gauge weights and token emissions. Holding YB does not by itself mean you earn pool fees or receive a fixed yield. Check the current governance and locking rules before assuming what rights or rewards apply: locking can restrict when you can move or sell your tokens, and the precise terms matter.
The protocol aims to let users provide BTC liquidity while reducing impermanent loss, a risk that can make an AMM position worth less than simply holding its assets. Yield Basis also uses leveraged liquidity strategies; descriptions of its design refer to 2× exposure. That is a protocol objective, not a guarantee that losses or impermanent loss cannot occur. Treat YB as a separate token risk from any position you open in the protocol.
What risks come with Yield Basis’s liquidity pools?
Yield Basis is built for users seeking BTC-related AMM liquidity exposure and trading-fee income. Its stated aim is to reduce impermanent loss while users provide BTC liquidity. That aim should not be read as a promise of profit: pool returns depend on trading activity, asset prices, protocol mechanics and any applicable costs. Leveraged strategies can magnify the effect of price moves and introduce additional risks, including smart-contract or collateral-related losses.
Before using a pool, find out which assets it accepts, how the leverage works, what can trigger losses, and how you exit. Yield Basis does not clearly publish its fees and strategy details, so do not assume the costs or mechanics are straightforward. Supplying liquidity is different from simply holding YB, and it may expose you to risks that buying or storing the token does not. Review the current pool terms and contract details before approving a transaction.
Which networks and wallets can you use for YB?
YB is issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain; it is not listed as the native token of either network. You need a wallet that supports the relevant EVM network and token standard, and you must select the same network when receiving or sending YB. A token sent on the wrong network may not appear in your wallet or may be difficult to recover.
Before depositing or transferring, confirm the network and token contract address through Yield Basis’s official channels. Do not rely on a token name or ticker alone: unrelated tokens can use the same name or symbol. If you add YB manually, verify the contract address and network independently. A small test transfer can help catch a network or address mistake, though it does not prove that a token or contract is legitimate. Never share your recovery phrase or sign a transaction you do not understand.
How much YB exists, and what can supply changes mean?
As of 2026-11-08, YB had about 289.5 million tokens circulating, roughly 758.9 million in total supply and a maximum supply of 1 billion. The gap between circulating and maximum supply means more tokens could enter circulation, but these figures alone do not show when or how that may happen. Check the project’s current token distribution and release schedule before assessing dilution risk.
YB traded at about $0.0506, with a market capitalization of about $14.7 million, on 2026-11-08. These are dated market figures, not a valuation or forecast; prices and supply measures can change. A market price can also move sharply, and a token’s past performance does not establish what it will do next. Use current figures if you are comparing market conditions, and avoid treating the maximum supply as a guarantee of scarcity or future value.
How can you store YB, and what could go wrong?
Store YB in a wallet where you control the recovery phrase, and keep that phrase offline in a secure place. Never disclose it to someone claiming to provide support. For a hardware wallet, verify that it supports the correct network and token; keep a separate, small amount available for network transaction fees if you need to move tokens. Check the receiving address and network before confirming any transfer.
The main risks are not limited to price swings. Yield Basis’s fee, strategy and audit scope are unclear, so you should verify the relevant contracts and understand what protections an audit does or does not cover. Smart-contract bugs, compromised keys, malicious approvals, network errors and thin trading liquidity can all lead to losses. If you lock YB or deposit assets in a pool, check the withdrawal conditions first. Do not invest money you cannot afford to lose.
By the numbers
Yield Basis in numbers
Yield Basis (YB) is ranked #996 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $14.7M and a price of $0.0506 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $38.4M, so roughly 38% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 21.5% over 7 days, down 35.6% over 30 days, down 90.7% over the past year. It trades about 94% below its all-time high of $0.8185, set on Oct 15, 2025.
About 289.53M YB are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (29% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $5.75M, or 39% of its market cap: very high turnover.
YB has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, BNB Chain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

YB FAQs
What is YB used for?
YB is Yield Basis’s governance token. Its described governance model includes locking YB and influencing gauge weights and emissions; the exact rights and conditions depend on the current rules.
Which chains support YB?
YB is issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain. Use a wallet that supports the selected network, and verify the token contract address before sending or adding it.
What is the maximum supply of YB?
As of 2026-11-08, about 289.5 million YB was circulating, against a total supply of about 758.9 million and a maximum supply of 1 billion. Supply figures can change, so check the current distribution and release information.
Does Yield Basis guarantee zero impermanent loss?
No. Yield Basis aims to reduce impermanent loss for BTC liquidity providers, but this is not a guarantee against losses. Pool mechanics, leverage, market movements and smart-contract issues can still affect your position.
What are the main risks of holding or using YB?
YB can be exposed to sharp price moves, and pool use adds risks such as leverage, contract failures and unclear costs or strategy details. Verify the contracts and terms, and only commit funds you can afford to lose.
What is the market cap of Yield Basis?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Yield Basis had a market cap of about $14.7M, ranking #996 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of YB?
Yield Basis's all-time high is $0.8185, reached on Oct 15, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.0493 (Nov 8, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of YB?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 289.53M YB were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 1B.
Which blockchains is YB on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum, BNB Chain.
