What does holding WLD let you do?
WLD’s clearest stated use is governance: holding it can let you participate in decisions about the Worldcoin protocol. The project also describes World ID as a way to prove you are a unique human online using privacy-preserving proofs. WLD and World ID are connected parts of the project, but they are not the same thing: owning WLD does not itself verify your identity.
World ID is intended for use by services that integrate it, including Web3 systems and social platforms. Possible applications include limiting bots or Sybil attacks and distributing limited resources, but those uses depend on outside services choosing to support the protocol. Don’t assume WLD is accepted as payment in every Worldcoin app, or that holding it guarantees access to a service or reward. Check the specific app’s current terms and the token’s role there before sending funds.
Which chains and wallets can hold WLD?
WLD is native to World Chain and is also issued on Ethereum and Optimism. These are separate networks, even when a token has the same name and ticker on each. A wallet or exchange must support the particular network you intend to use; selecting the wrong network can delay recovery or make funds difficult to retrieve.
To store WLD yourself, use a wallet that explicitly supports WLD on your chosen chain. Keep your recovery phrase offline and never share it with someone claiming they need it to verify your World ID or release tokens. If you leave WLD with a crypto platform, the platform controls access to the tokens and its withdrawal rules apply. Before receiving or sending, check the network and token details in the wallet or platform, and consider a small test transfer when appropriate. WLD is not a substitute for World ID: identity verification uses the World ID process, not a token balance.
How much WLD exists, and what can change its value?
WLD has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens. About 3.75 billion were circulating as of November 8, 2026, so the circulating amount was below that cap. Circulating supply, total supply and market value can change; check current token details before relying on a figure.
As of November 8, 2026, WLD traded at about $0.33, with a market capitalization of about $1.24 billion. These are dated snapshots, not stable measures of what your tokens will be worth. The price can move sharply, and a token’s market capitalization does not mean you could sell every token at that price. A larger circulating supply over time can affect the balance between available tokens and demand. Check the project’s current token distribution and release information if you need to understand what may change the circulating supply; don’t infer a timetable from the maximum supply alone.
How do people get and store WLD?
You can generally get WLD through a crypto platform that supports the token, or receive it from another wallet. Availability, identity checks, deposit networks and withdrawal rules vary by provider and location. Compare the platform’s network options and total charges, and confirm that you can withdraw WLD on a network your wallet supports. This is general information, not a recommendation to buy.
Worldcoin’s identity system is separate from ordinary token custody. To create an Orb-verified World ID, a person uses a compatible wallet app and visits an Orb operated by an independent local business. The project says the Orb uses sensors to check humanness and uniqueness, and that images are deleted on-device by default unless the person explicitly consents to Data Custody. That is a distinct privacy decision from holding WLD in a wallet. Read the current consent choices and local rules before using biometric verification, and do not assume an Orb visit is required just to receive tokens.
What does it cost to move WLD?
Sending WLD costs depend on the network and the wallet or platform you use. On-chain transfers require a network fee, which can change with congestion; the wallet should show an estimate before you confirm. On Ethereum, fees can be higher or more variable than on some scaling networks. Keep enough of the network’s gas token to pay the fee, or a transfer may not go through.
Moving WLD between Ethereum, Optimism and World Chain may involve a bridge or a platform withdrawal rather than a simple transfer. A bridge can add fees and waiting time, and introduces smart-contract and operational risks. The sending and receiving sides may each have costs. Check the exact chain, token, bridge route, estimated fee and expected arrival time before approving anything. Never rely on a token ticker alone: a token with the same name on another network may not be the version you intended.
What risks should you weigh before holding WLD?
WLD carries ordinary crypto risks: its price can fall, transfers are generally hard to reverse, and losing your recovery phrase can mean losing access. Smart-contract, exchange, bridge and network problems can also affect funds. Governance rights do not guarantee that proposals will pass or that decisions will benefit every holder.
Worldcoin also involves a separate set of identity and privacy questions. Orb verification uses biometric sensing, so consider carefully whether you want to take part and what you consent to regarding data custody. The project says images are deleted on-device by default unless you explicitly consent to Data Custody, but you should read the current explanation and consent flow yourself. World ID’s privacy design does not remove the need to assess how an integrating service handles your information. WLD’s all-time high was $11.74 on March 9, 2024, and its all-time low was about $0.23 on May 18, 2026. That history illustrates volatility, not a guide to future prices.
By the numbers

Worldcoin (WLD) is ranked #66 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $1.24B and a price of $0.3304 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $3.30B, so roughly 37% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 17.1% over 7 days, down 32.4% over 30 days, down 60.8% over the past year. It trades about 97% below its all-time high of $11.74, set on Mar 9, 2024.
About 3.75B WLD are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 10B (37% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $98.6M, or 8.0% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
WLD is the native token of World Chain; it also has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, Optimism. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

WLD FAQs
What is WLD used for?
WLD is used for participation in governing the Worldcoin protocol. Its use in a particular app or service depends on that product’s current support; holding WLD does not automatically provide a World ID.
Which networks support WLD?
WLD is native to World Chain and is also issued on Ethereum and Optimism. Check that both the sending and receiving wallets or platforms support the same network before transferring.
Can I hold WLD in a wallet?
Yes. WLD is available on Ethereum, World Chain and Optimism, but a wallet must support the token on the specific chain you choose. Keep your recovery phrase private if you use self-custody.
Does sending WLD cost a fee?
Transfer costs vary by network congestion, wallet or platform charges, and whether you use a bridge. Review the fee estimate and network shown before confirming a transaction.
Does owning WLD give me a World ID?
No. WLD is a token, while World ID is an identity credential created through the project’s verification process. Holding WLD does not by itself prove that you are a unique human.
What is the market cap of Worldcoin?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Worldcoin had a market cap of about $1.24B, ranking #66 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of WLD?
Worldcoin's all-time high is $11.74, reached on Mar 9, 2024. Its all-time low is $0.2300 (May 18, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of WLD?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 3.75B WLD were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 10B.
Which blockchains is WLD on?
WLD is the native token of World Chain. It has token contracts on Ethereum, Optimism.
