What does holding USDai actually give you?

USDai (USDAI) is a synthetic dollar designed to stay near $1 and supported by lending against AI hardware, compute and DePIN assets. Holding it gives you exposure to the USD.AI protocol’s dollar token, but it does not automatically mean you earn the protocol’s lending yield. The yield-bearing version is sUSDai, which is described as the staked form of USDai.

The protocol connects financing for infrastructure equipment with loans backed by that equipment. USDai’s value therefore depends not only on crypto markets and its peg mechanisms, but also on the loans, collateral and systems behind the protocol. The project describes mechanisms intended to help arbitrageurs restore the peg; that is not a guarantee that USDAI will always be worth exactly one dollar.

Before treating it like cash, check how you can convert or redeem it, what conditions apply, and whether the route works on your chain. A dollar target is a design goal, not the same as a bank deposit or a government guarantee.

Which chains and wallets can hold USDAI?

USDai is issued on Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum and Plasma. It is not listed as the native token of any of those networks, so you need to select the right network when receiving or sending it. A token with the same ticker on another chain may not be the same asset.

For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the specific network and can display or manage the correct USDAI token contract. The project’s token contract addresses and network details should be checked through USD.AI’s official channels before you move funds. Do not rely on a ticker or token logo alone. If you hold through a custodial service, confirm which network it supports for deposits and withdrawals; availability can differ by chain.

Keep a small amount of the network’s gas token available for transactions. A wallet can hold USDAI without giving you access to protocol features such as staking, and not every wallet will show a token balance automatically. Test unfamiliar deposit routes with a small transfer if you decide to use them.

How much USDAI exists, and what can move its value?

USDai has no fixed maximum supply listed in the token figures. As of November 8, 2026, circulating and total supply were both about 157.45 million USDAI. That is a dated snapshot, not a permanent cap: supply can change as tokens are issued, redeemed or otherwise moved through protocol mechanisms.

The same snapshot put USDAI near $1, at about $0.9987, with a market capitalization of roughly $157.2 million. These values move and should not be treated as current quotes after that date. USD.AI’s stated model connects token backing to loans against AI hardware, compute and DePIN assets, so changes in lending demand, collateral, repayment and confidence in the peg may matter to supply and market price.

The protocol description mentions mechanisms intended to bring USDAI back toward its peg through arbitrage. A mechanism can support a target without guaranteeing it. Check live market depth and the applicable redemption or conversion terms before relying on a specific value.

Does USDAI earn yield, or do you need sUSDai?

Simply holding USDAI is not the same as earning yield. The yield-bearing token is sUSDai, described as the staked version of USDai, with yield coming from GPU-backed loans. Moving from USDAI into sUSDai may involve a protocol action and carries additional contract and exit risks, so check the current process and terms before doing so.

USD.AI describes a target return of 15–25% APR. Treat that as a target, not a promised or fixed rate. Returns can change, and the underlying lending activity depends on borrowers, collateral performance and the protocol’s ability to collect loan repayments. A high stated rate also does not remove the risk of a loss in token value or a loss of access to funds.

Check how sUSDai calculates and distributes yield, whether conversion back to USDAI is immediate or subject to conditions, and what fees or restrictions apply. Do not use a target APR as a substitute for understanding the loan exposure or the risks of the token you actually hold.

How can you get and store USDAI safely?

You may be able to obtain USDAI through a supported crypto venue, a swap route or a USD.AI protocol feature, but availability depends on the service and chain. Check that the asset is USDAI on one of its supported networks—Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum or Plasma—and confirm the contract address before sending funds. No single acquisition route should be assumed to support every network.

For self-custody, make sure your wallet is backed up securely and that you can access the network needed to move the token. Keep recovery phrases offline and never share them with anyone claiming to help you claim or stake USDAI. If you use a custodial platform, review its custody, withdrawal and supported-network terms; an account balance may not give you control of the on-chain token.

Before using a protocol function, read its current instructions and transaction details. Verify the receiving address and chain, and be cautious of unsolicited messages, fake support accounts and tokens that imitate USDAI. These checks reduce operational mistakes but cannot eliminate market or smart-contract risk.

What does it cost to move USDAI across chains?

Sending USDAI usually requires a transaction fee paid in the gas token of the network you are using. The fee changes with network congestion and the action involved; transferring a token, swapping it or interacting with a staking contract can cost different amounts. USD.AI does not have one universal transaction fee across all four supported chains.

Moving USDAI between networks may require a bridge or another conversion route. That can add a separate service charge, network fees on one or both sides, waiting time and possible price slippage. Bridge support and costs vary, so check the exact route before starting and make sure the destination wallet supports USDAI on the destination chain. A transfer sent to the wrong network or address may be difficult or impossible to recover.

Review the final transaction screen, including token amount, network, destination and fee, before approving it. Do not assume that a low network fee means the overall route is cheap: conversion spreads and bridge charges can matter too. Fee amounts are variable, so check them at the time you transact.

What could go wrong with USDAI?

USDAI carries several risks beyond ordinary token-price movement. Its dollar target can break, and the protocol’s loan exposure links it to the value and recoverability of AI hardware and other infrastructure collateral. Borrower defaults, falling collateral values, slow liquidation or a loss of confidence could affect the protocol or the token’s market price. The stated arbitrage mechanisms may help support the peg but cannot guarantee it.

You also face smart-contract, custody and bridge risks. A contract flaw, compromised account, faulty token address or bridge failure can cause losses. If you convert to sUSDai, you add exposure to its staking and yield mechanics; the quoted 15–25% APR is a target, not a guaranteed return. USDAI is not a bank deposit, and token holdings do not carry ordinary deposit insurance.

USDai’s recorded all-time high was about $1.19 on September 4, 2025, and its all-time low was about $0.77 on September 26, 2025. Those past extremes show that the dollar target has not prevented substantial deviations. Consider whether you can tolerate a depeg, delays or losing access to the funds.

By the numbers

USDai in numbers

USDai (USDAI) is ranked #194 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $157M and a price of $0.9987 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($157M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 0.1% over 7 days, down 0.1% over 30 days, down 0.4% over the past year. It trades about 16% below its all-time high of $1.19, set on Sep 4, 2025.

About 157.45M USDAI are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.

24-hour trading volume was about $400K, or 0.3% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

USDAI has token contracts on 4 chains we track, including Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum, Plasma. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

USDAI FAQs

Does USDAI pay interest?

No. USDAI is the token itself, while sUSDai is described as its yield-bearing, staked version. USD.AI gives a 15–25% APR target for its product, but that is not a guaranteed rate.

Which networks support USDAI?

USDai is issued on Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum and Plasma. Confirm the network and token contract before depositing or sending it, since a matching ticker on another chain may represent a different token.

Is USDAI always worth one dollar?

USDai is designed to track one dollar, but its price can move away from that target. Its recorded range includes an all-time high near $1.19 and a low near $0.77, so the peg is not guaranteed.

How much does it cost to transfer USDAI?

Transactions require the gas token for the network you use, and fees vary with congestion and the transaction type. Bridging can add network fees, bridge charges and slippage; check the route before confirming.

What is the maximum supply of USDAI?

As of November 8, 2026, circulating and total supply were both about 157.45 million USDAI. No fixed maximum supply is listed, and supply can change over time.

What is the market cap of USDai?

As of Nov 8, 2026, USDai had a market cap of about $157M, ranking #194 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of USDAI?

USDai's all-time high is $1.19, reached on Sep 4, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.7698 (Sep 26, 2025). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
