What does holding TUSD let you do?
TUSD is a dollar-linked stablecoin: you hold it to move or use a token intended to stay close to one U.S. dollar, rather than to gain exposure to a volatile crypto asset. You may find it useful for keeping value on-chain between trades, transferring dollar-like funds, or paying and settling where a service accepts TUSD. Acceptance depends on the platform and the specific network version it supports.
TUSD is not a bank deposit, and its target price is not a promise that you can always redeem one token for one dollar. The project describes the token as backed 1:1 by U.S. dollar reserves and says reserve coverage is attested to by an independent accounting firm, with Chainlink Proof of Reserve integrated for additional monitoring. Those measures can help you check reserve-related information, but they do not remove issuer, custody, redemption or market risks.
Which chains and wallets can hold TUSD?
TUSD exists on multiple blockchains rather than having a single native chain. The networks identified for it include Ethereum, Tron, Avalanche and BNB Chain; the project also describes deployments on other public chains. Before you receive or send TUSD, check that the sending platform, receiving wallet and selected network all support the same version. A TUSD deposit sent over an unsupported chain may not arrive as usable funds.
You can generally store it in a self-custody wallet that supports the relevant network and token standard, or leave it with a custodial exchange that lists TUSD. Ethereum, Avalanche and BNB Chain use EVM-compatible wallets, while Tron requires a wallet that supports Tron assets. A wallet address on one network is not automatically interchangeable with the same-looking address on another. Keep your recovery phrase private if you use self-custody, and test with a small transfer when you are unsure about network compatibility.
How does TUSD’s supply and dollar peg work?
As of 2026-11-08, reported circulating and total supply were both about 494.5 million TUSD; no maximum supply is specified. The token is designed to track the U.S. dollar, and its supply can change as tokens are issued or removed. In general, stablecoin supply may expand when new tokens are minted against reserves and contract when tokens are redeemed, but TUSD’s specific issuance and redemption process, eligibility rules and timing are not published here.
On that date, TUSD traded at about $1, with a reported market capitalization of about $493.8 million. These are snapshots, not guarantees: market prices can move away from the peg, and supply and market value can change. The project says it provides real-time reserve attestations from an independent accounting firm and uses Chainlink Proof of Reserve in connection with minting. Check the current reserve information and understand what the attestation covers rather than treating a stable price or a reserve claim as risk-free.
How can you get and store TUSD?
You can typically get TUSD through a crypto platform that lists it, by receiving it from another wallet, or—if you meet the issuer’s requirements—through an issuance or redemption route. Listing and withdrawal support vary by platform. TUSD’s eligibility requirements, redemption minimums and processing times are not published here, so confirm those terms directly with the service you plan to use before relying on direct redemption.
For self-custody, choose a wallet that explicitly supports TUSD on your intended network. Confirm the network and token contract shown in the wallet or platform; token names and tickers can be copied, and different networks can represent separate versions. Keep your recovery phrase offline and never share it with someone claiming they need it to release a payment. If you use an exchange wallet, you rely on the exchange to control the keys and process withdrawals. In either case, check whether you can withdraw the actual on-chain token rather than only a platform balance.
What does it cost to move TUSD?
Sending TUSD usually costs the network’s transaction fee, paid in that chain’s native asset rather than in TUSD. The amount depends on network demand, transaction complexity and the wallet or platform’s own charges. Ethereum fees can vary substantially with congestion; fees on other networks also change. TUSD does not have one universal transfer fee, and a custodial exchange may set a separate withdrawal charge or minimum.
Moving TUSD between chains may require a bridge or an exchange withdrawal to the other network. A bridge can charge fees and adds smart-contract, operator and liquidity risks; the token received may be a bridged representation rather than the same issuance on the destination chain. Check the exact token and network supported at both ends, plus any withdrawal limits and fees, before confirming. If you only need to move funds within one chain, avoid bridging unless the destination service requires a different network.
What could go wrong while you hold TUSD?
The main risk is that TUSD may trade below or above one dollar, or that redemption becomes difficult. Reserve attestations are not the same as a government guarantee, a bank deposit or a complete guarantee that every holder can redeem immediately. You also rely on the issuer and reserve arrangements, the accuracy and scope of attestations, and the platforms that custody or trade the token. A depeg can reduce the value of your holdings, even if the token is designed to track USD.
There are also ordinary crypto risks: sending to the wrong network or address, wallet-key loss, exchange failure, bridge exploits, and changing legal or service access. The project describes TUSD as having statutory status as authorized digital currency and a medium of exchange in Dominica from October 7, 2022; that does not establish legal treatment or protections in your location. Before holding a substantial amount, check current reserve disclosures, redemption terms, network support and local rules. Do not assume that a stablecoin cannot lose value.
What is TUSD’s history, and has it always stayed at $1?
TrueUSD launched on March 5, 2018, as a fiat-backed stablecoin intended to maintain a one-to-one relationship with the U.S. dollar. Its project description emphasizes third-party reserve attestations and, later, Chainlink Proof of Reserve as ways to provide reserve-related visibility. TUSD has been deployed across multiple public blockchains and listed on crypto trading platforms, though availability differs by platform and network.
Its price history shows why “stablecoin” should be read as a target, not an assurance. The reported all-time high was $1.62 on August 26, 2018, and the reported all-time low was about $0.88 on March 12, 2020. Those past extremes do not predict future behavior, but they show that market prices have not always matched one dollar. If you hold TUSD as cash-like funds, consider whether you can tolerate a temporary or lasting loss of the peg and whether you have a clear way to redeem or move it.
By the numbers

TrueUSD (TUSD) is ranked #105 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $494M and a price of $0.9985 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($494M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 0.1% over 7 days, down 0.0% over 30 days, up 0.2% over the past year. It trades about 38% below its all-time high of $1.62, set on Aug 26, 2018.
About 494.52M TUSD are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $4.64M, or 0.9% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
TUSD has token contracts on 4 chains we track, including Ethereum, Tron, Avalanche, BNB Chain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

TUSD FAQs
Is TUSD always worth $1?
TUSD is intended to be worth one U.S. dollar, but the market price can move away from that target. It has traded below and above $1 in the past, so the peg is not guaranteed.
Which networks support TUSD?
TUSD is identified on Ethereum, Tron, Avalanche and BNB Chain, among other deployments described by the project. Confirm the exact network supported by your wallet or platform before sending tokens.
What backs TrueUSD?
The project says TUSD is backed 1:1 by U.S. dollar reserves and reports independent reserve attestations, alongside Chainlink Proof of Reserve integration. These checks do not make TUSD a bank deposit or eliminate issuer and redemption risks.
Does it cost anything to send TUSD?
You generally pay the network transaction fee in that blockchain’s native asset. Wallets, exchanges and bridges can add their own charges, so check the fee and destination network before confirming a transfer.
Can I redeem TUSD for U.S. dollars?
TUSD’s dollar target does not guarantee a one-for-one redemption for every holder at any time. Check the issuer’s current redemption terms and eligibility requirements, as well as the platform you plan to use.
