What do you get by holding SOFID?
SoFiUSD is a dollar-linked stablecoin designed for payments and settlement, not a share in SoFi or a token with a stated governance role. SoFi says each SOFID is backed one-to-one by cash held in the bank’s federal account and describes redemption as immediate. That reserve model is intended to keep the token near $1 and support transfers between businesses or users on public blockchains.
For you, the practical value depends on whether a wallet, exchange, merchant or service you use accepts SOFID. A stablecoin can be useful for moving dollar-denominated value onchain, but it does not guarantee that every recipient will accept it or that you can redeem it directly. SoFi is also making its infrastructure available to businesses for settlement and white-label stablecoins; those institutional uses do not automatically create extra rights for individual holders. SOFID is not described as a yield-bearing token.
Which chains and wallets can hold SoFiUSD?
SOFID is issued on Ethereum and Solana. It is not the native coin of either network, so holding it does not give you ETH or SOL, and it does not pay the network fees required to move it. Before sending, confirm that the receiving wallet or exchange supports SOFID on the same chain you plan to use. The same ticker on a different chain, or a wrapped version, may not be the issuer’s token.
You can generally store a token in a wallet that supports the relevant network and token standard, or leave it with a service that supports SOFID. SoFi does not publish a specific list of compatible third-party wallets in the project details here. Keep your recovery phrase private if you use a self-custody wallet, and test that the deposit network and token match before sending a substantial amount. A transfer sent on an unsupported chain may be difficult or impossible to recover.
How much SOFID exists, and what changes its supply?
As of November 8, 2026, reported circulating and total supply were both about 316.5 million SOFID, with no maximum supply published. The reported market capitalization was about $316.2 million, and the price was about $0.999. These figures change as tokens are issued, redeemed and traded; they are not a promise that you can redeem at exactly $1 at any moment.
For a fully reserved stablecoin, supply typically expands when new tokens are issued against reserves and contracts when tokens are redeemed and removed from circulation. SoFi describes a one-to-one cash backing and immediate redemption, but the practical price can still move slightly around a dollar as market liquidity and access to redemption change. Check the chain and contract before relying on a supply figure: totals across networks and any wrapped representations may not be displayed consistently by every service.
How can you get and store SOFID?
You may be able to obtain SOFID through a supported exchange, wallet service or issuer channel, but availability depends on the service and your location. Do not assume that an exchange listing means direct redemption with SoFi is available to you. SoFi does not publish a public retail redemption process or eligibility terms in the project details here, so check those points with the issuer before treating SOFID like cash you can withdraw on demand.
If you already hold it, choose custody based on how you plan to use it. A custodial platform handles the keys but adds platform and access risk; a self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys but makes you responsible for backups and correct network selection. SOFID itself is not the same as SoFi’s separate SOFIE tokenized-deposit product. Do not assume any interest or FDIC insurance described for that deposit product applies to SOFID.
What does it cost to transfer SOFID?
Sending SOFID costs a network fee, which is separate from the token amount. On Ethereum, the fee is paid in ETH and can rise when the network is busy. On Solana, transactions generally use SOL for fees, which are typically lower, but the fee and wallet requirements can still vary. SoFi does not publish a fixed SOFID transfer fee; check the wallet’s estimate immediately before signing.
Moving between Ethereum and Solana may involve a bridge or another cross-chain service. That can add a service charge, a second network fee, delays and smart-contract or custody risks. Do not assume that a bridge is operated or guaranteed by SoFi: verify the service, supported token and destination chain yourself. If you only need to send SOFID on one chain, make sure the recipient can accept it there; a cheaper route is no help if the destination cannot receive the token.
What could go wrong when you hold SoFiUSD?
SOFID’s main risks are redemption access, market liquidity, issuer exposure and operational mistakes. A cash-reserve claim does not remove the possibility of a temporary price deviation, service interruption or difficulty selling on a particular platform. The $1 target is not a guaranteed market price, and SoFi’s description of immediate redemption does not by itself explain which holders qualify, what process they use or whether conditions apply. Check the current issuer terms and reserve disclosures before relying on redemption.
The token also depends on SoFi and the systems that issue, safeguard and transfer it. Blockchain transactions are generally difficult to reverse, while a wrong-chain transfer, lost wallet keys, compromised account or faulty third-party bridge can cause losses. SOFID is not described as an FDIC-insured deposit; do not transfer insurance claims about a separate SoFi deposit product to this token. SoFi has not published an audit detail in the project information here, so verify current independent assurance and reserve reporting rather than assuming it exists.
What is known about SoFiUSD’s history?
SoFiUSD is described as a fully reserved stablecoin issued by SoFi Bank, N.A., and as the first stablecoin launched on a public, permissionless blockchain by a U.S. national bank. The project information does not give a launch date, so there is no reliable start date to use as a timeline marker. Its stated focus is real-time payments, institutional settlement and programmable finance, alongside infrastructure that businesses can use for settlement or white-label tokens.
A March 2026 announcement described a Mastercard partnership to use SOFID as a settlement currency across Mastercard’s global payments network. That is an announced use case, not proof that every card transaction or merchant already uses SOFID. The token’s reported high was about $1.002 on August 7, 2026, and its low about $0.992 on September 25, 2026. Those past observations show that a dollar peg can fluctuate; they do not predict future prices.
By the numbers
SoFiUSD in numbers
SoFiUSD (SOFID) is ranked #129 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $316M and a price of $0.9992 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($316M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 0.0% over 7 days, down 0.0% over 30 days. It is trading at or near its all-time high of $1.00.
About 316.49M SOFID are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $1.89M, or 0.6% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
SOFID has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, Solana. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

SOFID FAQs
Can you redeem SOFID for U.S. dollars?
SoFi describes SOFID as backed one-to-one by cash held in the bank’s federal account and says redemption is immediate. The public retail redemption process and eligibility terms are not published in the project details here, so confirm access with SoFi rather than assuming every holder can redeem directly.
Which networks support SoFiUSD?
SOFID is issued on Ethereum and Solana. Check the chain and token support at both ends before transferring; sending it to an address or service that does not support that network can put the tokens at risk.
Does SOFID pay interest or have FDIC insurance?
SOFID is a stablecoin, not the same product as SoFi’s SOFIE tokenized deposit. Do not assume that interest or FDIC insurance associated with SOFIE applies to SOFID.
Is SoFiUSD guaranteed to stay at $1?
No. Its intended value is around one U.S. dollar, but the market price can move above or below that target. A stablecoin’s peg and redemption access are not guaranteed in every market condition.
What fees do you pay to send SOFID?
Transfers require the network’s fee asset: ETH on Ethereum or SOL on Solana. The amount varies with network conditions, and using a bridge to move between chains can add fees and risks.
What is the market cap of SoFiUSD?
As of Nov 8, 2026, SoFiUSD had a market cap of about $316M, ranking #129 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of SOFID?
SoFiUSD's all-time high is $1.00, reached on Aug 7, 2026. Its all-time low is $0.9922 (Sep 25, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of SOFID?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 316.49M SOFID were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.
Which blockchains is SOFID on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum, Solana.
