Owning BORG: Uses, Networks and Risks

BORG can give you added benefits inside the SwissBorg app, but those benefits depend on the platform and its rules. SwissBorg says the amount of BORG you hold in the app can affect your Premium tier and access to benefits such as lower exchange fees, higher launchpad allocations, higher yields on Earn strategies and more voting power in referendums. The app may also run ad-hoc campaigns for BORG holders.

These are platform-linked uses, not automatic rights to a return. Eligibility, rates and campaign terms can vary, and a benefit can be changed or withdrawn by SwissBorg. Check the current terms for each feature before relying on it. BORG does not itself guarantee yield, launchpad access or a particular fee discount. If your main reason for holding it is an app benefit, weigh that against the risks of keeping tokens with a centralized service and the possibility that the benefit terms change.

BORG is issued on Ethereum and Solana; it is not listed as the native token of either network. That means you need to use a wallet or service that supports BORG on the specific chain you choose. A wallet supporting Ethereum tokens may not support the Solana version, and the reverse is also true.

You can generally keep tokens in a self-custody wallet that supports the relevant network, or hold them in an account with a service that supports BORG deposits and withdrawals. With self-custody, you control the wallet keys and are responsible for safeguarding them. With a custodial account, the service controls the keys and your access depends on its account and withdrawal rules. Before sending BORG, confirm the receiving service supports the exact network and token, and check its deposit instructions. Never assume that two BORG deposit addresses on different chains are interchangeable.

BORG has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. As of 2026-11-08, the reported circulating and total supply were both about 981 million, so the figures leave roughly 19 million below the stated maximum. A maximum supply is not the same as a promise about when or how any remaining tokens will enter circulation; check SwissBorg’s current token information for any changes or distribution details.

Token prices can move with overall crypto market conditions, demand for BORG, trading liquidity and expectations about SwissBorg’s app benefits. A token’s supply figures alone do not indicate what it is worth or whether its price will rise or fall. BORG is also exposed to platform-specific sentiment: changes to fees, rewards, campaigns or product availability could affect how useful holders consider it. Treat any market price or market-cap figure as a dated snapshot, not a stable measure.

You can look for BORG through services that list it, including SwissBorg’s app where supported, or receive it from another holder. Availability depends on your country, account eligibility and the service’s current listings. SwissBorg offers crypto exchange and investing tools, but the exact assets and features available to you can vary by location. For storage, decide whether you want a custodial account or a self-custody wallet. Custodial storage may make app-based features easier to use, but you rely on the provider to manage access and withdrawals. BORG carries both token and platform risks. Its benefits are tied in part to SwissBorg’s app, so changes to product availability, Premium tiers, campaigns or reward terms can reduce the usefulness of holding it. The company’s centralized services also create custody and operational risks if you keep tokens in an account rather than a wallet you control.

The token can lose value, and trading liquidity may affect how easily you can move or exchange it at a price you expect. Sending on the wrong network, using an unsupported wallet or approving a malicious transaction can lead to loss. For self-custody, protect your recovery phrase and verify addresses; for custodial use, review account, withdrawal and country restrictions. Check the current terms and token details before relying on a benefit. No BORG feature guarantees earnings or protects you from market losses.

SwissBorg launched in 2017, with an ICO running from December 7, 2017 to January 10, 2018. The project raised $50 million in that offering.
