What does holding SOLV actually give you?
SOLV is the token associated with Solv Protocol, a platform focused on bringing Bitcoin into DeFi through products such as SolvBTC and SolvBTC.LSTs. Those Bitcoin-linked products are not the same as SOLV: holding SOLV does not, by itself, mean you own Bitcoin held by the protocol or receive a claim on its reserves.
SOLV is described as a governance token, giving holders a way to participate in decisions about the Solv ecosystem. It is also described as part of an economic security layer for SolvBTC’s movement between chains. These roles do not guarantee that holders will earn income, control every protocol decision, or be able to redeem SOLV for BTC. Before using the token, check the current governance process and the specific product terms. If your goal is Bitcoin exposure or yield, make sure you understand which asset you are acquiring and what redemption or withdrawal conditions apply.
Which chains and wallets can you use for SOLV?
SOLV is issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain; it is not listed as the native token of either network. That means the same token can exist on more than one chain, and you need to select the right network when receiving, sending, or interacting with it. A transfer sent to an incompatible network or address can be difficult or impossible to recover.
Use a wallet that supports the relevant EVM network, then confirm the token’s official contract address and network from Solv’s own channels before adding or sending it. Do not rely on the token name or ticker alone: unrelated tokens can use the same label. If you move SOLV between chains, check whether you are using an official bridge or supported route and understand its fees and risks. Wallet and exchange support can differ by network, so confirm that deposits and withdrawals are enabled on the exact chain you intend to use.
How much SOLV is in circulation?
As of November 8, 2026, SOLV had about 5.90 billion tokens in circulation, against a total and maximum supply of 9.66 billion. That leaves about 3.76 billion tokens outside the reported circulating supply; this is a calculation from the stated totals, not a schedule for when those tokens may enter circulation. The circulating figure can change over time.
For context, SOLV was priced at about $0.00434 on that date, with a market capitalization of roughly $25.6 million and fully diluted valuation of about $41.9 million. These are dated snapshots, not current quotes or forecasts. The gap between market capitalization and fully diluted valuation reflects the difference between circulating and maximum supply at that price. Before holding SOLV, look for current details on allocations, unlocks, and any changes to circulating supply; the maximum supply alone does not tell you when remaining tokens could become available.
How should you store SOLV and use it safely?
For basic custody, keep SOLV in a wallet you control that supports the correct network, and protect the recovery phrase offline. Never share it with anyone or enter it into a site or message claiming to offer support. For larger holdings, consider a hardware wallet and test a small transfer before sending a substantial amount.
If you use SOLV in Solv Protocol products, check exactly which asset and chain a transaction involves. SOLV, SolvBTC, and SolvBTC.LSTs serve different roles and can have different risks and redemption conditions. Read wallet prompts before signing; a malicious approval or transaction can give a contract permission to move tokens. Keep a separate record of the network and contract address you use, but do not store your recovery phrase alongside it. Self-custody reduces reliance on an exchange, but it also means a lost phrase or mistaken transfer may leave you without a practical recovery route.
What could go wrong with SOLV or SolvBTC?
SOLV can lose value sharply, and its price does not have to track Bitcoin or the value of SolvBTC. The token’s supply outside circulation also matters: future releases could affect the amount available to trade, although the maximum supply does not reveal the timing of releases.
Solv’s Bitcoin-related products bring additional risks beyond holding SOLV. Bitcoin does not have native proof-of-stake staking; yield strategies that use BTC or BTC-linked tokens rely on protocols, custodians, counterparties, smart contracts, or other arrangements. These can fail, be exploited, become illiquid, or change their terms. Cross-chain transfers add bridge and network risks. Solv says its protocol has undergone audits by Quantstamp, CertiK, SlowMist, Salus, and Secbit, but audits cannot guarantee that contracts are free of vulnerabilities or prevent losses. Check the scope and date of any audit, and do not treat the existence of audits as insurance.
