What does CTR do in the Citrea network?
Citrea (CTR) is the token associated with Citrea, a Bitcoin-focused network for running programmable applications. Citrea is designed as a zero-knowledge rollup that settles on Bitcoin and verifies proofs through BitVM; its execution environment is a Type 2 zkEVM. That is the network’s technical purpose, but it does not mean holding CTR gives you bitcoin or a claim on Bitcoin.
Citrea describes CTR as a coordination asset for its Bitcoin economy. Project materials also refer to vote-escrow staking and coordinating capital flows, but the exact rights, requirements and benefits for tokenholders can depend on the live protocol rules. Do not assume that simply holding CTR earns yield, gives you a vote, or entitles you to fees. Check the current Citrea app or protocol documentation before connecting a wallet or staking. The token’s market price can move independently of network use, and a stated role in a project does not guarantee demand or value.
Which networks and wallets can you use for CTR?
CTR is listed as a native token on Citrea and is also issued on Base. These are separate networks, even when the token has the same name and ticker. Before sending CTR, check that the receiving wallet or service supports the specific network you plan to use. A transfer sent on an unsupported chain may be difficult or impossible to recover.
Use a wallet that supports the relevant network, and confirm the selected chain and token details in the wallet before approving a transfer. If you are adding CTR manually, verify its contract address through Citrea’s official channels; do not rely on a ticker or token icon, which can be copied. Moving tokens between Citrea and Base may require a supported bridge or another transfer route. Check the route, destination network, transaction costs and any bridge limits before confirming. A bridge introduces additional smart-contract and operational risks, so avoid sending your full balance in a first transaction.
How many CTR tokens exist, and can supply grow?
CTR has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens. The reported circulating supply is 1.5 billion, while total supply is also listed as 10 billion, as of November 8, 2026. Circulating supply is the portion reported as in circulation; it is not the same as the maximum amount that can exist. The difference between circulating and total supply means more tokens could become available over time, depending on the project’s distribution and release plans.
A large maximum supply does not, by itself, tell you what one token should be worth. If you are assessing dilution risk, look for current information about allocations, unlocks and token release schedules, and whether staking or other mechanisms change the amount available to trade. Don’t treat an old supply figure as current: token supply and circulation can change, and trackers may update at different times. Citrea’s token distribution details should be checked before you make a decision based on supply.
How can you store CTR safely, and what can go wrong?
Store CTR in a wallet that supports its network, and protect the wallet’s recovery phrase offline. Never share that phrase or a private key with anyone, including someone claiming to offer support. Consider a hardware wallet if you hold a meaningful amount, and test a small transfer before moving a larger balance. Keep separate records of which network holds each portion of your CTR.
The main risks are not limited to price swings. A wrong-network transfer, fake token contract, malicious wallet connection or compromised recovery phrase can lead to lost funds. Using a bridge adds smart-contract and operational risks; a bug, exploit or service interruption could affect access to bridged tokens. Citrea’s use of zero-knowledge proofs and BitVM is part of its security design, but it does not remove all software, bridge, validator or user risks. Review what you are signing, avoid unexpected links and approvals, and revoke permissions you no longer need. Only expose funds you can afford to lose.
By the numbers
Citrea in numbers
Citrea (CTR) is ranked #793 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $21.5M and a price of $0.0143 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $143M, so roughly 15% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was up 4.4% over 7 days, up 12.8% over 30 days. It trades about 63% below its all-time high of $0.0387, set on May 26, 2026.
About 1.5B CTR are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 10B (15% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $4.41M, or 21% of its market cap: high turnover.
CTR is the native token of Citrea; it also has token contracts on Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CTR FAQs
What is CTR used for?
Citrea describes CTR as a coordination asset for its Bitcoin economy. Project materials refer to vote-escrow staking and capital flows, but check current protocol rules before assuming CTR provides voting rights, rewards or fee income.
Is CTR available on Base?
CTR is listed on Citrea and Base. Confirm the network is supported by your wallet or exchange and matches the receiving address before sending; the same ticker on a different network is not interchangeable automatically.
What is the maximum supply of CTR?
The maximum and total supply are listed as 10 billion CTR, with 1.5 billion circulating as of November 8, 2026. Circulation and token availability can change, so check updated figures and release information.
How do I store CTR safely?
Only use a wallet that supports the network holding your tokens, and protect its recovery phrase offline. Verify token details before adding CTR, check every transaction network, and be especially careful with bridge and wallet approvals.
What are the main risks of holding CTR?
CTR’s market value can fluctuate, and network or token adoption does not guarantee a particular price. Other risks include future token availability, smart-contract or bridge failures, and losing access through a wallet mistake or compromised keys.
What is the market cap of Citrea?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Citrea had a market cap of about $21.5M, ranking #793 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of CTR?
Citrea's all-time high is $0.0387, reached on May 26, 2026. Its all-time low is $0.007022 (Jul 27, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of CTR?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 1.5B CTR were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 10B.
Which blockchains is CTR on?
CTR is the native token of Citrea. It has token contracts on Base.
