What does holding SKL let you do?
SKL is the token used in the SKALE ecosystem, where it supports staking and the operation of the network. If you hold it, the practical question is whether you plan to use it for network participation or simply keep it in a wallet; holding SKL by itself does not give you a guaranteed return or a claim on project revenue.
SKALE is a chain project designed for decentralized applications, including gaming. The project also describes work on private DeFi, agentic trading and payments. SKALE chains are designed to let apps avoid charging users per transaction, so do not assume you need SKL in your wallet to use every app built on SKALE. The network’s economic model can instead involve chain operators or developers paying for network resources.
SKL is used as economic collateral for staking, and staking helps support the network. If you are considering staking, check the current terms, validator details, lockup and unstaking process before committing tokens. Those conditions can affect when you can access your SKL, and rewards are not guaranteed.
Which network should you use for SKL?
SKL tokens are issued on Ethereum, Base and SKALE. These are different networks: a token sent to an address on the wrong chain may not arrive where you expect, even when the wallet address looks familiar. Before depositing or withdrawing, confirm that both the sending service and receiving wallet support the same network and SKL token representation.
If you are moving SKL between networks, use a bridge or transfer route that you have independently verified. Bridging adds risks beyond ordinary wallet transfers, including contract vulnerabilities, delays or a temporary inability to move assets. Do not rely on a token name or ticker alone; other tokens can use the same symbol. Check the contract address against an official SKALE source or the receiving platform’s own verified listing.
A self-custody wallet may support one or several of these networks, but support for Ethereum does not automatically mean it supports SKALE or Base. Make a small test transfer when practical, and keep enough of the relevant network’s fee token for any actions that require transaction fees.
How much SKL exists, and can supply change?
As of 2026-11-08, SKALE’s reported supply is about 6.09 billion SKL circulating and 6.43 billion total, with a stated maximum supply of 7 billion. The maximum is a cap, not the amount currently in circulation. The circulating figure can change as tokens are issued, unlocked or otherwise enter circulation, so check an up-to-date token listing before relying on it.
Supply figures matter if you are comparing the number of tokens in circulation with the total possible amount. They do not tell you whether SKL is fairly priced or whether demand will increase. On the same date, SKL traded at about $0.0038, with a market capitalization of about $22.9 million; both figures can move quickly and are only a dated snapshot.
If you stake, also consider that staked tokens may not be immediately available to transfer or sell. Read the current staking and unstaking terms before delegating, and do not treat a displayed reward rate as guaranteed income.
How can you store SKL without losing access?
For self-custody, choose a wallet that explicitly supports SKL on the network where your tokens are held. A hardware wallet can keep signing keys offline, while a reputable software wallet may be more convenient for regular use. In either case, back up the recovery phrase offline and never share it with a person, website or support agent.
Before sending SKL, check the network, token contract and destination address. A transaction on Ethereum, Base or SKALE can be irreversible, and a transfer to an unsupported network or address may be difficult or impossible to recover. Keep your recovery phrase separate from your device, and avoid storing it in screenshots, email or cloud notes.
If you stake through a wallet or service, confirm who controls the tokens, how you can unstake, and whether the provider adds custody or smart-contract risk. Treat unexpected messages about airdrops, wallet fixes or staking rewards as potential scams. Never approve a transaction you do not understand or reveal your seed phrase to claim tokens.
What can go wrong when you hold SKL?
SKL carries the usual risks of a crypto asset: its price can fall sharply, and you may not be able to sell quickly at the price you expect. Its value also depends in part on whether developers and users continue to use SKALE chains. Claims about past transaction or wallet counts do not guarantee future adoption, token demand or returns.
Staking can add protocol and validator risks. Depending on the staking arrangement, tokens may be locked or delayed during unstaking, and a validator’s conduct or a technical failure could affect your position. Check the current rules rather than assuming all staking options work the same way.
SKALE’s multi-chain setup creates another point to watch: bridges and token contracts can have vulnerabilities, and sending SKL on the wrong network can strand funds. Keep your exposure proportionate to what you can afford to lose, verify transactions carefully and avoid borrowing to buy or stake a volatile token.
By the numbers
SKALE in numbers
SKALE (SKL) is ranked #754 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $22.9M and a price of $0.003758 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $24.2M, so roughly 95% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 7.9% over 7 days, down 25.2% over 30 days, down 79.2% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $1.22, set on Mar 11, 2021.
About 6.09B SKL are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 7B (87% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $2.80M, or 12% of its market cap: high turnover.
SKL has token contracts on 3 chains we track, including Ethereum, Base, Skale. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
SKL is linked to Skale, which we cover in our Chain rankings. See our Skale page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

SKL FAQs
What is SKL used for?
SKL is used for staking and as economic collateral in the SKALE ecosystem. SKALE chains are designed to support applications with low-friction or gas-free user experiences, so users do not necessarily need SKL for every app transaction.
Which networks support SKL?
SKL is issued on Ethereum, Base and SKALE. Confirm the network and token representation supported by your wallet or exchange before sending it.
Can you stake SKL?
SKL can be staked to support the network, but staking terms and availability can differ. Check lockups, unstaking conditions, validator risks and any applicable fees before delegating.
What is SKL’s maximum supply?
As of 2026-11-08, about 6.09 billion SKL was circulating, with about 6.43 billion total and a stated maximum of 7 billion. These figures can change, so check a current token listing before making decisions.
How do you store SKL safely?
Use a wallet that supports SKL on its specific network, and keep your recovery phrase offline and private. Verify the chain, contract and address before every transfer; transactions sent to the wrong network may be hard to recover.
What is the market cap of SKALE?
As of Nov 8, 2026, SKALE had a market cap of about $22.9M, ranking #754 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of SKL?
SKALE's all-time high is $1.22, reached on Mar 11, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.003254 (Aug 19, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of SKL?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 6.09B SKL were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 7B.
Which blockchains is SKL on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum, Base, Skale.
