## What can you use INIT for?
INIT is the native token of the Initia network. It is used to pay transaction fees, and published descriptions also identify staking and governance as uses. Initia is designed around an L1 network and interwoven optimistic rollups, so INIT sits within a system intended to connect the base chain with app-specific chains.
For you as a holder, the practical distinction is between using INIT for network activity and holding it in the hope its market value changes. Paying gas requires you to keep some INIT available in the wallet that is making the transaction. Staking or governance participation may involve different steps and conditions; check the current Initia interface and rules before committing tokens. Don’t assume every appchain uses INIT for every fee or gives INIT holders the same rights. The specific appchain and transaction will determine what you need.
## Which chains and wallets support INIT?
INIT is native to Initia and is also listed as issued on Osmosis. That does not mean a wallet address or token balance is automatically interchangeable between the two networks. When you receive, send or use INIT, confirm the selected network and the token representation supported by the service you’re using.
Choose a wallet that explicitly supports the relevant Initia network, and check that any exchange or app supports the exact chain you intend to use for deposits and withdrawals. A deposit sent on an unsupported network may be delayed or difficult to recover. Keep a small amount of the network’s required fee token available before moving funds; don’t assume INIT will cover gas on every chain.
If you move tokens between networks, check the transfer route, destination network and any fees before approving. Cross-chain transfers can involve bridge or other intermediary risks. Make a small test transfer when practical, and never rely on a token name or ticker alone to confirm that an asset is the right one.
## How much INIT exists, and what can change?
INIT has a maximum and total supply of 1 billion tokens. About 219.3 million were circulating as of November 8, 2026. The difference between circulating and total supply is not necessarily available to trade immediately; releases may depend on allocations and vesting.
Initia token information describes linear vesting for some allocations, including staking and enshrined liquidity allocations. A vesting description does not tell you the exact amount or timing of future releases, so check the current token distribution and release schedule before relying on a supply estimate. A rise in circulating supply can affect the balance between available tokens and demand, but it does not by itself determine the token’s price.
Supply figures can change. If you are comparing wallet balances, exchange listings or market data, check the date and whether the figure refers to circulating, total or maximum supply. These are different measures, and the maximum supply is not the same as the amount currently circulating.
## How should you store INIT safely?
For self-custody, use a wallet that supports Initia and protect its recovery phrase offline. Never share the phrase or enter it into a site or message prompted by someone claiming to offer support. A hardware wallet can keep signing keys offline, but it still depends on you checking the network and transaction details before approving.
Before sending INIT, confirm the destination address, selected chain and asset. For a first transfer to a new address or service, consider sending a small test amount. Store recovery backups somewhere private and secure, separate from your everyday devices; anyone who obtains the phrase may be able to control the wallet. Avoid storing it in screenshots, email or cloud notes.
If you keep INIT with an exchange or other custodian, you rely on that provider to safeguard and release your assets. Review its supported networks and withdrawal rules, and understand that account access may depend on its controls. Self-custody removes that provider from the process but makes you responsible for key security and recovery.
## What are the main risks of holding INIT?
INIT carries market risk: its value can fall sharply, and past prices do not indicate what it will be worth later. Network adoption, token releases, liquidity and broader crypto-market conditions can all affect demand and trading. Don’t treat staking rewards or governance participation as protection against a loss in value.
There are also operational risks. A wrong-network transfer, compromised recovery phrase or malicious transaction approval can lead to lost funds. If you use a cross-chain route, you add risks tied to the bridge or intermediary as well as the destination network. Appchains and the underlying network can also face technical problems or service interruptions; check the status and terms of the specific service before relying on it.
Before using INIT, verify the wallet, network and recipient independently, and understand whether staking or another use restricts access to your tokens. Only commit an amount you can afford to lose, and don’t rely on a market price or a planned release schedule staying unchanged.
By the numbers
Initia in numbers
Initia (INIT) is ranked #695 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $26.0M and a price of $0.1186 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $119M, so roughly 22% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 28.9% over 7 days, up 7.2% over 30 days, down 10.4% over the past year. It trades about 92% below its all-time high of $1.42, set on May 13, 2025.
About 219.26M INIT are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (22% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $3.20M, or 12% of its market cap: high turnover.
INIT is the native token of Initia; it also has token contracts on Osmosis. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

INIT is the native token of Initia and is used to pay transaction fees. Published descriptions also list staking and governance as uses, though the process and conditions can depend on the network or application.
Which blockchain is INIT on?
INIT is native to Initia and is also listed as issued on Osmosis. Check that your wallet, exchange or app supports the specific network you plan to use before sending it.
What is the maximum supply of INIT?
The maximum and total supply is 1 billion INIT. About 219.3 million were circulating as of November 8, 2026; circulation can change as tokens are released.
