What does ETHGas (GWEI) do?
ETHGas is a blockspace infrastructure project focused on Ethereum. It aims to break blockspace into tradable units so participants can arrange access to block production in advance. The protocol also describes preconfirmations and a market for gas commitments, with the goal of making transaction timing and costs more manageable. Its Open Gas Initiative is intended to let protocols take on gas costs for users.
GWEI is associated with the ETHGas project and is described as its governance token. That does not make it the same thing as Ethereum gas, or guarantee that holding it gives you a particular vote, revenue share or discount. Check the token’s current governance rules and any proposal requirements before relying on a specific benefit. ETHGas has not published its fees, so you should not assume that using its services is free.
Which chains can you use for GWEI?
GWEI has been issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain. It is not the native coin of either network: ETH pays Ethereum transaction fees, while BNB is used for fees on BNB Chain. You may need the relevant network’s native coin to transfer GWEI or interact with a decentralized application, even if the app’s own service is designed to abstract gas costs.
Use a wallet that supports the network on which your GWEI is held. Before depositing or sending, confirm the selected network and the token’s contract address through ETHGas’s official channels. A matching token name or ticker alone is not enough to identify the right asset; unrelated tokens can use the same symbol. Sending tokens over the wrong network or to an incompatible address can make recovery difficult or impossible. If an exchange supports GWEI, check which network it accepts for deposits and withdrawals before moving funds.
How much GWEI is in circulation?
ETHGas has a maximum and total supply of 10 billion GWEI. About 2.02 billion were circulating as of November 8, 2026, leaving a substantial difference between the circulating amount and the total supply. Circulating supply can change as tokens are released or otherwise become available, so check the current release and allocation information before judging how much supply may reach the market.
As of November 8, 2026, GWEI’s market capitalization was about $36.5 million and its fully diluted valuation was about $180.8 million. These are snapshots, not fixed values: both can move with the token price and supply. ETHGas’s token supply figures do not tell you whether the project will succeed or what GWEI may be worth. Treat market and valuation figures as time-sensitive, and do not base a decision on a single snapshot.
How can you store GWEI safely?
For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the correct chain and lets you verify the token contract before adding GWEI. A hardware wallet can keep signing keys offline, while a software wallet may be more convenient for frequent transfers; either way, your recovery phrase controls access to your funds. Write it down and store it privately, offline and separately from your device. Never share it with someone claiming to offer support or a token airdrop.
When adding GWEI to a wallet, check the network and contract address carefully. Make a small test transfer first if you are unfamiliar with the destination, but remember that even a test can incur network fees. Keep enough ETH or BNB for fees on the corresponding chain. If you hold GWEI on an exchange, review its withdrawal network options and account-security settings; exchange custody means you rely on the platform to safeguard and return your assets.
What are the main risks of holding GWEI?
GWEI carries the usual risks of a crypto token, including sharp price movements, thin or changing liquidity, smart-contract vulnerabilities and loss from an incorrect transfer. ETHGas is building infrastructure around blockspace commitments and preconfirmations, so you should also consider whether demand for those services develops as intended. A token’s association with a project does not guarantee that the token captures the value of its services.
ETHGas’s fees are unpublished, and its audit is still in progress. That leaves important questions about usage costs and contract security unresolved. Before interacting with a contract, look for completed audit information and understand what permissions you are granting; an audit, once complete, would not eliminate risk. Be wary of promises of guaranteed returns or gas savings. Only commit funds you can afford to lose, and avoid signing wallet requests you do not understand.
By the numbers
ETHGas in numbers
ETHGas (GWEI) is ranked #549 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $36.5M and a price of $0.0181 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $181M, so roughly 20% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 13.0% over 7 days, down 1.1% over 30 days. It trades about 93% below its all-time high of $0.2466, set on Jun 29, 2026.
About 2.02B GWEI are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 10B (20% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $3.29M, or 9.0% of its market cap: high turnover.
GWEI has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, BNB Chain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

GWEI FAQs
Is ETHGas (GWEI) the same as Ethereum gwei?
No. GWEI is the ETHGas token ticker, while gwei is also a denomination of ether: one gwei equals 0.000000001 ETH. Check the network and contract address rather than relying on the similar names.
What network is GWEI on?
GWEI has been issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain. Confirm the correct network and contract address before sending, and make sure the receiving wallet or exchange supports that network.
What is the total supply of GWEI?
ETHGas has a maximum and total supply of 10 billion GWEI. About 2.02 billion were circulating as of November 8, 2026; circulating supply may change over time.
How do I store GWEI?
Use a wallet that supports the chain where your tokens are held, and protect its recovery phrase offline. Check the contract address and network before transfers, and keep ETH or BNB available for the relevant network’s transaction fees.
Is ETHGas safe to use?
ETHGas’s audit is still in progress, and its fees are unpublished. GWEI also faces price, liquidity, contract and transfer risks, so review current security and project information before interacting with it.
What is the market cap of ETHGas?
As of Nov 8, 2026, ETHGas had a market cap of about $36.5M, ranking #549 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of GWEI?
ETHGas's all-time high is $0.2466, reached on Jun 29, 2026. Its all-time low is $0.0145 (Jul 31, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of GWEI?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 2.02B GWEI were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 10B.
Which blockchains is GWEI on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum, BNB Chain.
