What does holding WELL let you do?

Moonwell is a decentralized finance protocol for lending and borrowing crypto. WELL is its token, but Moonwell’s exact token-holder rights are not established here. Don’t assume that holding WELL is required to lend or borrow, gives you a share of deposited assets, or entitles you to protocol revenue. Check Moonwell’s current token and governance documentation before relying on WELL for a specific purpose.

Using the lending protocol is a separate decision from holding WELL. Lending and borrowing happen onchain, where the terms can vary by asset and network. If you plan to use Moonwell, check the current rates, supported assets, collateral requirements and liquidation rules in the app before supplying funds or opening a loan. A token purchase by itself does not make you a lender or borrower.

Which networks and wallets support WELL?

WELL has been issued on Moonbeam and Base. These are separate blockchain networks, so check which network your WELL is on before sending it or connecting a wallet. A transfer sent to the wrong network may not arrive where you expect, and moving assets between networks may require a bridge with its own risks and costs.

Use a wallet that supports the network holding your tokens. Before a transfer, confirm the network shown in both the sending wallet and the receiving service, and verify the token contract address through Moonwell’s official channels. Never rely on a token name or ticker alone: imitations can use the same name. Keep a small test transfer in mind when you are unsure, and remember that network fees are paid separately from the token amount. Moonwell’s protocol use and simply holding WELL in a wallet are not the same thing.

How much WELL exists?

Moonwell has a maximum supply of 5 billion WELL. As of November 8, 2026, about 4.53 billion were circulating, out of a total supply of 5 billion. That leaves a difference of roughly 470 million tokens between the reported circulating amount and the maximum. The figures can change as tokens enter circulation, so treat them as a dated snapshot rather than a current guarantee.

Supply alone does not tell you how tokens are distributed, when any remaining tokens may be released, or what rights holders have. Check Moonwell’s current token documentation for distribution and release details before making decisions based on scarcity. Market prices and trading conditions also change; a fixed supply does not prevent WELL’s price from falling or guarantee demand.

How can you store WELL more safely?

For self-custody, store WELL in a wallet that supports its network and keep your recovery phrase offline. Anyone with that phrase can control the wallet, so don’t share it, enter it into a website, or keep the only copy in an email or cloud account. A hardware wallet can keep signing keys offline, but it does not protect you if you approve a malicious transaction or send tokens to the wrong address.

Check the receiving address and network before every transfer. Be cautious of unsolicited messages, fake support accounts and sites asking you to connect your wallet or sign an unfamiliar request. If you use a centralized exchange instead, you rely on the exchange to safeguard and release your tokens; check its custody and withdrawal terms. Keep enough of the network’s native asset for transaction fees if you plan to move WELL onchain.

What could go wrong with WELL or Moonwell?

Holding WELL exposes you to price volatility, token-specific risks and the possibility that you cannot sell or transfer it when you want. Onchain use adds smart-contract and network risks. Moonwell says its contracts use multisignature systems, are audited by Halborn Security before deployment, and are covered by a vulnerability bounty program with ImmuneFi. Audits and bounties can help identify problems, but they cannot guarantee that contracts are free of bugs or that funds will be recoverable after an exploit.

If you lend assets or borrow through Moonwell, understand that rates can change and collateral can be liquidated if it no longer meets the protocol’s requirements. Network congestion, transaction fees, oracle failures, contract bugs and mistakes when signing transactions can also cause losses. Review the terms for the specific asset and network you intend to use, and don’t treat WELL as a substitute for understanding those separate lending risks.

By the numbers

Moonwell in numbers

Moonwell (WELL) is ranked #1,374 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $7.95M and a price of $0.001755 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $8.78M, so roughly 91% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 11.9% over 7 days, down 20.7% over 30 days, down 85.0% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $0.2988, set on Jun 23, 2022.

About 4.53B WELL are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 5B (91% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $69.9K, or 0.9% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

WELL has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Moonbeam, Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

What is Moonwell (WELL)?

Moonwell is an onchain crypto lending and borrowing protocol. WELL is its token, but do not assume that holding WELL is required to use the lending markets; check Moonwell’s current documentation for the token’s specific role.

Which networks is WELL on?
