What does holding ICX let you do?

ICX is ICON’s native coin. You use it to pay gas for transactions on the ICON blockchain and to pay fees associated with xCall, ICON’s cross-chain messaging framework and connected applications. ICON is designed to help applications communicate across different blockchains, so ICX’s role is tied to network use rather than just transfers between holders. A portion of fees collected in ICX is burned, according to ICON’s description; that does not guarantee the supply will shrink overall, since other token issuance may also occur.

ICX is also associated with governance. If you plan to vote or delegate, check ICON’s current rules and the effect of each choice before committing tokens. Governance rights and the practical ability to use them can depend on network procedures. Holding ICX does not by itself ensure that cross-chain applications will attract users or that the token will retain value.

Which network and wallet should you use for ICX?

ICX is native to the ICON blockchain. The token facts do not identify other chains on which ICX is issued, so treat a token labelled ICX on another network as a separate wrapped or bridged asset unless you can verify its status. A matching ticker or logo is not proof that a token is native ICX.

For self-custody, choose a wallet that explicitly supports ICON and the native ICX network. Before sending, check the receiving address, selected network and any deposit instructions; an exchange may require a particular network and may not credit a transfer sent another way. If you use an exchange, confirm that ICX deposits and withdrawals are enabled and review its minimums and fees. For wallet transfers, check the network fee shown before you approve. Keep a small test transfer in mind when sending to a new address, especially if the amount is significant.

How much ICX is in circulation, and how liquid is it?

As of 2026-11-07, the reported circulating supply was about 1.10 billion ICX and total supply about 1.11 billion. No maximum supply is specified. These are different measures: circulating supply estimates tokens available in the market, while total supply includes tokens that may not be circulating. The figures can change, so check a current supply view before making decisions that depend on them.

The same dated snapshot put ICX at about $0.0021, with a market capitalization around $2.3 million and 24-hour trading volume around $9. Those figures indicate that trading may be very thin: even a modest order can face a wide spread or move the price. The reported seven-day and one-year declines were about 78% and 98%, respectively. These are historical figures, not a forecast. Do not assume you can sell at a displayed price; check the order book, available trading pairs and withdrawal options on the venue you use.

What can go wrong when you store or transfer ICX?

Store ICX only in a wallet that supports the native ICON network, or leave it with an exchange only if you accept the platform and account risks. For self-custody, protect the recovery phrase offline and never share it with anyone claiming to provide support. A wallet’s password does not replace the recovery phrase, and anyone who obtains the phrase may be able to take your tokens. Confirm the address and network before every transfer; crypto transfers are generally difficult or impossible to reverse.

ICX has price and liquidity risk, and cross-chain activity adds technical risk: messaging systems, bridges and connected applications can have bugs, outages or security failures. A burn of some fees does not guarantee price appreciation or a declining total supply. The dated market snapshot showed very low trading volume and steep recent losses, which can make selling difficult or costly. Check current network activity, market depth and wallet support before transferring, and do not expose funds you cannot afford to lose.

By the numbers

ICON in numbers

ICON (ICX) is ranked #2,253 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $2.30M and a price of $0.002098 as of Nov 7, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($2.33M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 77.7% over 7 days, down 84.5% over 30 days, down 97.5% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $13.16, set on Jan 8, 2018.

About 1.1B ICX are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.

24-hour trading volume was about $9, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

ICX is the native token of Icon. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

ICX FAQs

What is ICX used for?

ICX pays gas on the ICON blockchain and fees associated with xCall and connected applications. A portion of collected fees is burned, but that does not guarantee that total supply will fall.

Which network is native ICX on?

ICX is native to ICON. Use a wallet or exchange that explicitly supports deposits and withdrawals on the native ICON network, and verify the network before sending.

What is the supply of ICX?

The reported circulating supply was about 1.10 billion ICX and total supply about 1.11 billion as of 2026-11-07. No maximum supply is specified, and supply figures can change.

Can I store ICX in a self-custody wallet?

Yes, if the wallet explicitly supports native ICX on ICON. Keep your recovery phrase private and offline, and verify the destination address and network before confirming a transfer.

What are the main risks of holding ICX?

ICX can be volatile, and the dated snapshot showed very low trading volume, which may make selling difficult or affect the price you receive. Cross-chain messaging, bridges and connected applications can also face technical or security failures.

What is the market cap of ICON?

As of Nov 7, 2026, ICON had a market cap of about $2.30M, ranking #2,253 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of ICX?

ICON's all-time high is $13.16, reached on Jan 8, 2018. Its all-time low is $0.0006101 (Oct 19, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of ICX?

As of Nov 7, 2026, about 1.1B ICX were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.

Which blockchains is ICX on?

ICX is the native token of Icon.
