## What does holding Alto DUSD give you?

Alto DUSD (DUSD) is a collateral-backed stablecoin used within Alto, a decentralized credit and incentives protocol. It is the protocol’s sole borrowable asset across its isolated markets. Alto says users can borrow, lend, mint and use DUSD for leverage against collateral such as ETH, liquid-staking tokens and tBTC.

That gives DUSD a role inside Alto beyond simply tracking the US dollar: it is the unit users borrow and move through the protocol. But its intended dollar value is not a guarantee that you can always trade or redeem one DUSD for one dollar. Check how you would exit—through a market or a protocol redemption process—and what conditions apply before relying on it as cash-like value. Alto’s published token description does not specify redemption terms.

As of 2026-11-05, DUSD was priced at about $1.001. Its market price can still move away from a dollar, especially if trading is thin or confidence in the collateral and protocol weakens.

## Which wallet and network should you use for DUSD?

DUSD is issued on Ethereum; it is not the native token of a blockchain. To hold or transfer it, use an Ethereum-compatible wallet that supports ERC-20 tokens. A wallet may not display a token automatically, so you might need to add it using the correct contract address.

Before receiving or sending DUSD, confirm the official Ethereum contract address through Alto’s own channels and check that the destination supports the same Ethereum token. A matching name or ticker is not enough: unrelated tokens can use “DUSD” too. Sending tokens to a contract or network that does not support them can make recovery difficult or impossible.

You will also need ETH in your wallet to pay Ethereum transaction fees. Those fees vary with network demand and are separate from any fees or borrowing costs inside Alto. The project has not published a maximum DUSD supply. If you use a hardware wallet, check the transaction details on its screen before approving a transfer or protocol interaction.

## How much DUSD exists, and can you sell it?

Alto reported about 1.80 million DUSD in circulating supply and total supply as of 2026-11-05, with no maximum supply listed. That figure is a snapshot, not a cap: a collateral-backed stablecoin’s supply can change as users mint or repay tokens under the protocol’s rules. Check the current on-chain supply and Alto’s minting and repayment terms before making decisions based on a past figure.

Supply alone does not tell you whether DUSD is easy to sell. As of that date, its market capitalization was about $1.8 million, while 24-hour trading volume was not reported. Low or uncertain trading activity can mean wider price spreads or difficulty selling a larger amount near the quoted price.

DUSD briefly traded as high as $1.084 on 2026-10-30 and as low as $0.972 on 2026-03-12. Those past prices show that the dollar reference can be lost; they do not predict where DUSD will trade next. Treat the peg as a target, not a guaranteed exit price.

## What could put your DUSD at risk?

Alto’s isolated-market design is intended to keep a problem in one market from affecting the others. Isolation can limit some pathways for risk to spread, but it does not remove risk from DUSD itself. The token depends on the protocol’s smart contracts, collateral valuation and ability to manage borrowing and liquidation when markets move sharply.

Before using DUSD in Alto, check which collateral backs the market you plan to use, how collateral can be liquidated, and what happens if its value falls quickly. Borrowing or leveraging can amplify losses and may lead to collateral being liquidated under protocol rules. Alto has not published audit details in its token information, so verify whether independent security reviews are available before connecting a wallet.

You also face stablecoin-specific risks: DUSD could trade below a dollar, trading liquidity may be limited, and a contract or protocol failure could affect access to funds. Never assume that “decentralized” or “isolated” means insured, risk-free or redeemable on demand. Keep only funds you can afford to put at risk in a protocol, and test wallet permissions carefully before signing.

## How can you store DUSD more safely?

For long-term storage, keep DUSD in a wallet where you control the recovery phrase, and protect that phrase offline. Never share it with anyone or enter it into a site or message claiming to help with a transfer. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure to malware, but it cannot protect you from approving a malicious contract or sending tokens to the wrong address.

If you connect your wallet to Alto, review each transaction and permission. Check the network, token amount, recipient or contract, and any approval to spend DUSD or collateral. Avoid leaving broad token approvals in place if you no longer need them, and revoke permissions only through tools you trust.

Keep records of your wallet address and transactions for your own accounting. A wallet balance is not proof that you can sell DUSD at a dollar, and funds in a protocol may be subject to different risks from tokens held in your wallet. Before depositing, make sure you understand how to withdraw and whether your intended route depends on available liquidity.

DUSD FAQs

Is Alto DUSD pegged to the US dollar?

Alto describes DUSD as a collateral-backed stablecoin designed to track the US dollar. Its market price can still move above or below $1, and the dollar target does not guarantee a one-for-one redemption.

What network is Alto DUSD on?

DUSD is issued on Ethereum, so you need an Ethereum-compatible wallet and the correct Ethereum token contract. Confirm the contract address through Alto’s official channels before adding or transferring the token.

How many Alto DUSD tokens are there?

As of 2026-11-05, circulating and total supply were both about 1.80 million DUSD. No maximum supply was listed, and the amount can change as users mint or repay tokens.
