What can you use Macropod (AUDM) for?

Macropod (AUDM) is a stablecoin designed to track the Australian dollar at 1 AUDM to A$1. You might use it to move or hold Australian-dollar value on supported crypto networks, including for digital payments or settlement. Its target is in Australian dollars, not US dollars, so its USD price can rise or fall as the AUD/USD exchange rate changes.

On 2026-11-08, AUDM traded at about US$0.69. That figure alone does not show whether it is above or below its A$1 target. Check the AUDM-to-AUD rate and whether you can access the token where you plan to use it. A stablecoin is not a bank deposit, and a target price does not guarantee that you can sell or redeem at that price whenever you want.

Which networks and wallets support AUDM?

AUDM is issued on Ethereum, Base and Solana. These are separate networks: an AUDM token on one chain cannot automatically be sent to an address on another. Before transferring, confirm that both your wallet and the receiving platform support AUDM on the exact same network.

Use a wallet that supports the chain you choose and lets you manage its tokens. Do not select a network just because the wallet shows an AUDM ticker; token names and symbols can be copied. Verify the chain and token details against Macropod’s official information before sending, and consider a small test transfer first. Keep enough of the network’s native asset to pay transaction fees. Ethereum, Base and Solana use different fee systems, and a token transfer can be delayed or lost if you use the wrong network or address.

How much AUDM exists, and what backs it?

Macropod says each AUDM is backed by one Australian dollar held in segregated trust accounts at a major Australian bank. The project launched in October 2025 as a joint venture between MHC Digital Group and Catena Digital. Macropod is described as the first stablecoin issuer to receive an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) from ASIC. A licence and stated backing are relevant, but they do not remove issuer, custody or redemption risks.

As of 2026-11-08, circulating and total supply were both 3,393,164 AUDM; no maximum supply is published. Supply can change as tokens are issued or removed. Before relying on AUDM as cash, check Macropod’s current reserve reporting and the terms for direct redemption, including eligibility, minimums, processing times and fees. The A$1 target alone does not establish that every holder can redeem directly with the issuer.

How should you store AUDM, and what can go wrong?

Store AUDM only in a wallet you control if you understand how to protect its recovery phrase, or use a platform you have assessed and accept the custody trade-off. Keep your recovery phrase offline and private; anyone who gets it may be able to take your tokens. Check the destination address and network carefully before every transfer, since crypto transfers are generally difficult to reverse.

The main risks are that AUDM trades away from its A$1 target, the issuer or banking arrangements fail, or access to redemption is limited. You also face wallet, exchange, smart-contract and network risks. A token on one chain may have different technical risks from a version on another. Avoid treating the word “stablecoin” as a promise of safety, and do not hold money you may need immediately unless you have checked how you can convert or redeem it.
