What does holding Venus’s VAI actually mean?
VAI is Venus Protocol’s decentralized stablecoin, designed to track the US dollar and minted and redeemed through the Venus platform. It is not VAIOT’s AI-focused VAI token; check the project and network carefully before sending or swapping, because tickers can overlap.
You may hold VAI to keep value in a dollar-oriented crypto asset or use it within Venus, subject to the protocol’s current functions and rules. A stablecoin is not the same as dollars in a bank account: its market price can move away from $1, and you depend on the smart contracts and mechanisms that support its value.
As of 2026-11-08, VAI traded at about $0.99. That figure is a dated snapshot, not a guarantee of redemption value or a prediction. If you need money for a near-term expense, consider whether you could tolerate a peg deviation or difficulty converting VAI when you want to exit.
Which chain and wallet should you use for VAI?
VAI is issued on BNB Chain. To hold it yourself, use a wallet that supports BNB Chain and can display or interact with the correct VAI token. Before receiving or sending funds, verify the network and token contract through a trusted Venus or wallet interface; do not rely on the ticker alone. Sending VAI to an incompatible network or address can make it difficult or impossible to recover.
As of 2026-11-08, circulating supply and total supply were both about 2.48 million VAI. No maximum supply is published in the token facts, so there is no fixed cap to use as a scarcity measure. Supply can change as tokens are minted or redeemed through Venus.
A self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys, but also responsibility for them. A custodial service may handle key storage for you, but adds reliance on that provider and may not support VAI withdrawals. Check that the service supports the exact BNB Chain token, not merely a token with the same symbol.
How can you use or redeem VAI on Venus?
VAI’s stated role is as a stablecoin minted and redeemed directly on Venus. If you want to mint, redeem, or use it in the protocol, first check the current Venus interface, supported collateral or markets, and transaction requirements. Do not assume that holding VAI in a wallet automatically gives you access to protocol features or that every exchange will accept Venus-related deposits.
Transactions on BNB Chain require the network’s gas token to pay fees; VAI itself may not cover that cost. Fees vary with network conditions and the action you take. Venus does not publish a universal cost that applies to every transaction, so check the amount shown in your wallet before approving it.
Before interacting, review each permission request and the destination address. A token approval can let a smart contract move tokens from your wallet within the approved allowance. Use only the official Venus interface you have independently verified, and avoid signing requests you do not understand. If you only want to hold VAI, you do not need to connect your wallet to a DeFi application.
How do you store VAI safely, and what can go wrong?
Keep your recovery phrase offline and private. Never share it with a person, website, or support account, and do not store it in screenshots or ordinary cloud notes. For a larger balance, consider a hardware wallet that supports BNB Chain, and test your setup with a small transaction before sending more. A wallet cannot reverse an on-chain transfer if you choose the wrong address or network.
VAI carries several risks beyond ordinary wallet loss. Its price can lose its dollar peg; Venus smart-contract faults, protocol changes, liquidity shortages, or failures in the minting and redemption process could affect your ability to use or convert it. The price and supply can change, and a wallet or exchange may pause deposits or withdrawals. DeFi use can also expose you to risky approvals and phishing scams.
Treat VAI as a crypto asset, not guaranteed cash or a bank deposit. Check the live price, available liquidity, protocol status, and the exact redemption terms before relying on it. Keep only the amount you can afford to have temporarily inaccessible or lose.

Vai (VAI) is ranked #2,197 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $2.46M and a price of $0.9908 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($2.46M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 0.4% over 7 days, down 0.7% over 30 days, down 0.9% over the past year. It trades about 79% below its all-time high of $4.76, set on Dec 19, 2023.
About 2.48M VAI are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $36, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
VAI has token contracts on BNB Chain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

VAI FAQs
Is VAI the same as VAIOT?
VAI is Venus Protocol’s decentralized stablecoin. It is separate from VAIOT’s token, despite the shared ticker, so verify the project and BNB Chain token before transacting.
What network is VAI on?
VAI is issued on BNB Chain. Use a wallet or service that supports the correct VAI token on that network, and keep enough of the network’s gas token to pay transaction fees.
Is VAI always worth one dollar?
VAI is designed as a dollar-oriented stablecoin, but its market price can move away from $1. Its value and usability depend on Venus, market conditions, and the ability to mint, redeem, or trade it.
How many VAI tokens are there?
As of 2026-11-08, circulating and total supply were each about 2.48 million VAI. No maximum supply is published, and supply can change through minting and redemption on Venus.
How do I store VAI safely?
Use a BNB Chain-compatible wallet, verify the token and network, and protect your recovery phrase offline. Be cautious with approvals and never share your phrase or sign a transaction you do not understand.
