## What does holding FIRO let you do?

FIRO is the native coin of the Firo blockchain, a proof-of-work network designed for private digital payments. Its privacy protocols include Sigma, Lelantus and Lelantus Spark. Spark is designed to conceal the sender, receiver and transaction amount; Firo also says it can support privacy-preserving assets. Dandelion++ is intended to make it harder to identify the originating IP address of a transaction.

These features are for people who want more transaction privacy than a public-by-default ledger provides. They do not guarantee that every part of your activity is anonymous: your wallet, exchange, device, network provider or the person you pay may still reveal information about you. FIRO is not a claim on a company or a stable-value asset, so its market price can change substantially.

## Which network and wallet should you use?

FIRO runs on its own blockchain; it is not simply a token issued on Ethereum or another general-purpose chain. The network combines proof-of-work mining, using the MTP hashing algorithm, with masternodes. Firo describes ChainLocks and InstantSend as services supported by its masternode quorum system, intended to strengthen transaction finality and network resilience.

To store FIRO, choose a wallet that explicitly supports the Firo network and the transaction types you plan to use. Do not assume an Ethereum wallet address can receive it. Before transferring, confirm that the sending and receiving services both support FIRO, check the address and network shown in the wallet, and consider a small test transfer. Exchanges may offer FIRO custody, but that means the exchange controls the keys while your balance remains there. Check withdrawal availability and charges before relying on an exchange.

## How much FIRO exists, and does holding it earn rewards?

As of 2026-11-08, FIRO’s circulating and total supply were each about 19.2 million coins, with a stated maximum supply of 21.4 million. The maximum is a cap, not the number currently available to trade. Supply figures can change as new coins are issued, so check a current figure before using it for a time-sensitive decision.

Firo’s proof-of-work system means miners help validate transactions and secure the network. The project also uses masternodes for additional network functions. Holding FIRO in a wallet does not automatically earn mining rewards: mining requires appropriate equipment and setup, while running a masternode has its own requirements. Do not assume a platform’s advertised yield is a native FIRO feature; check how it generates returns and what custody or lock-up risks apply. FIRO’s supply cap also does not guarantee demand, liquidity or any particular future value.

## How can you store FIRO safely, and what can go wrong?

If you hold FIRO yourself, protect your recovery phrase offline and never share it with anyone claiming they need it to help you. Use a wallet from a source you can verify, keep its software updated, and test your recovery process before storing a large balance. A lost recovery phrase or a mistaken, irreversible transfer can mean permanent loss. If an exchange holds your FIRO, you also take on its account-access and custody risks.

Privacy features can reduce what transaction data is visible on-chain, but they cannot erase information you disclose elsewhere or prevent every form of tracking. Privacy-focused coins can also face changing rules or reduced support at some trading venues. Check the laws where you live and confirm that your chosen service supports FIRO deposits and withdrawals. FIRO is volatile, and a stated supply limit does not protect you from price declines or thin trading. Only hold an amount you can afford to lose.

By the numbers

Firo in numbers

Firo (FIRO) is ranked #1,023 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $13.9M and a price of $0.7247 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($13.9M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 8.0% over 7 days, down 17.2% over 30 days, down 62.4% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $139.77, set on Dec 25, 2017.

About 19.23M FIRO are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 21.4M (90% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $95.1K, or 0.7% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

CoinGecko groups FIRO under Privacy coins, Zero-knowledge (ZK) tokens.

FIRO FAQs

Is FIRO a coin or a token?

FIRO is the native coin of the Firo blockchain, which uses proof-of-work mining and a masternode layer. It is not inherently an Ethereum token.

Are FIRO transactions private?

Firo’s privacy protocols are designed to hide transaction details such as sender, receiver and amount, while Dandelion++ is intended to obscure a transaction’s originating IP address. These features do not guarantee that your identity or all activity is untraceable.

What is FIRO’s maximum supply?

As of 2026-11-08, circulating and total supply were each about 19.2 million FIRO, with a maximum supply of 21.4 million. These figures can change as issuance continues.

Which wallet can hold FIRO?

Use a wallet that explicitly supports FIRO on its native network, and verify the address and network before sending. An Ethereum-only wallet or address should not be assumed to support FIRO.

Does holding FIRO earn rewards?

Not by simply holding coins in a wallet. Mining and masternode operation are separate activities with their own technical and financial requirements; platform yield offers may involve additional risks.

What is the market cap of Firo?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Firo had a market cap of about $13.9M, ranking #1,023 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of FIRO?

Firo's all-time high is $139.77, reached on Dec 25, 2017. Its all-time low is $0.2796 (Dec 1, 2016). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of FIRO?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 19.23M FIRO were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 21.4M.
