What does POWR actually let you do?
POWR is the Ethereum token associated with Powerledger, a company that builds software for energy markets. Its platform is designed to track and trade energy, flexibility services and environmental commodities, including renewable energy. The intended users of the platform include utilities, renewable energy operators, microgrids and property developers.
POWR is described as a licence businesses need to access the platform. The project has also said the token may be used for transactions on its blockchain in future; that is not the same as a promise that you can use POWR to pay an electricity bill today. If you hold POWR as an individual, its main practical use may be holding or transferring the token, rather than buying energy directly.
Powerledger’s stated aim is to support more responsive energy markets, including by helping manage the variable supply of solar and wind power. That is a business and technology goal, not a guarantee of adoption or token demand. Before you treat the token’s platform role as a reason to hold it, check whether the specific service you care about is available to you and what role POWR plays in it.
Which network should you use to hold or send POWR?
POWR is issued as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. To receive or hold it yourself, use a wallet that supports Ethereum and ERC-20 assets, and make sure you select the Ethereum network when sending. An exchange may also custody POWR for you, but then the exchange controls the keys and withdrawal availability depends on its policies.
Powerledger also describes a separate blockchain for processing energy transactions, built on Solana. That does not mean you should send Ethereum-based POWR to a Solana address. The project has described possible future use of POWR for transactions on its blockchain, but do not assume the token is currently transferable or usable there. Check the supported network and deposit instructions in the specific wallet or service before moving funds.
Ethereum transfers require ETH to pay network fees. A transfer sent to an incompatible network or wrong address may be difficult or impossible to recover. For a first transfer, verify the receiving network and address carefully, and consider sending a small test amount before moving a larger balance.
How much POWR exists, and what can supply tell you?
POWR has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. As of 2026-11-08, about 573.4 million were circulating, against a total supply of about 999.5 million. These figures can change, so check current token data before making a decision based on supply. The gap between circulating and total supply means not all tokens are counted as circulating; it does not, by itself, tell you when or how any additional tokens might enter circulation.
For context, on 2026-11-08 POWR traded at about $0.053, with a market capitalisation of about $30.4 million. Those are dated snapshots, not a valuation or forecast. Crypto prices can move sharply, and market capitalisation does not tell you whether you will be able to sell at a particular price or how much the market can absorb.
If supply matters to your decision, look for current circulation figures and project disclosures about token allocation or release plans. Do not infer a release schedule from the maximum supply alone.
How can you store POWR without losing control of it?
For self-custody, keep your wallet’s recovery phrase offline and private. Anyone with that phrase can usually control the assets in the wallet. Never share it with someone claiming to provide support, and be wary of sites or messages asking you to connect your wallet or approve a transaction. Use a hardware wallet if that suits your needs, but remember that it does not protect you from approving a malicious transaction or sending tokens to the wrong address.
Before using a wallet or exchange, confirm it supports POWR on Ethereum specifically. Check the network shown on both sides of a transfer; a token sent through an unsupported network may not arrive as expected. Keep enough ETH in a self-custody wallet to cover Ethereum transaction fees.
If you leave POWR with an exchange, you avoid managing a recovery phrase but take on platform and account-access risks. Enable strong account security and understand the provider’s withdrawal rules. In either setup, keep records of your transactions for any tax or reporting duties that apply where you live.
What could go wrong if you hold POWR?
POWR combines crypto-market risk with uncertainty about whether Powerledger’s energy software will gain lasting use. The token’s stated business role does not guarantee that businesses will adopt the platform, that adoption will create demand for POWR, or that token holders will receive revenue or other benefits. The project has not established in these facts that individual holders have a claim on platform income.
You also face familiar token risks: sharp price movements, limited liquidity at some venues, exchange or wallet failures, scams, and irreversible transfer mistakes. Because POWR is an Ethereum token while Powerledger describes a separate Solana-based blockchain, network confusion is an additional practical risk. Confirm how a service handles POWR before relying on it for a transaction.
Treat any projected future token use as uncertain until it is live and you can verify the terms. Avoid committing money you cannot afford to lose, and do not treat past price performance or a project’s stated goals as evidence of future returns.
By the numbers
Powerledger in numbers
Powerledger (POWR) is ranked #633 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $30.4M and a price of $0.0530 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $53.0M, so roughly 57% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 22.7% over 7 days, down 14.6% over 30 days, down 50.9% over the past year. It trades about 97% below its all-time high of $1.89, set on Jan 6, 2018.
About 573.41M POWR are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (57% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $826K, or 2.7% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
POWR has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
CoinGecko groups POWR under DePIN tokens.

POWR FAQs
Is POWR an Ethereum or Solana token?
POWR is an ERC-20 token issued on Ethereum. Powerledger describes a separate Solana-based blockchain for energy transactions, but do not assume Ethereum POWR can be sent there; confirm network support before transferring.
What is the POWR token used for?
Powerledger describes POWR as a licence businesses need to access its platform. It has also said POWR may be used for transactions on its blockchain in future, but that does not mean you can currently use it to pay your electricity bill.
What is the maximum supply of POWR?
As of 2026-11-08, about 573.4 million POWR were circulating, with a total supply of about 999.5 million and a maximum supply of 1 billion. Supply figures can change, so check current data before relying on them.
What wallet can I use to store POWR?
Use a wallet that supports Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens, or an exchange that lists POWR. Confirm the Ethereum network before depositing, and remember that self-custody transfers require ETH for network fees.
Is POWR a risky token to hold?
Yes. POWR can lose value, and adoption of Powerledger’s platform does not guarantee demand for the token or benefits for holders. You also face risks from scams, exchange failures, wallet mistakes and sending funds on the wrong network.
What is the market cap of Powerledger?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Powerledger had a market cap of about $30.4M, ranking #633 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of POWR?
Powerledger's all-time high is $1.89, reached on Jan 6, 2018. Its all-time low is $0.0326 (Mar 12, 2020). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of POWR?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 573.41M POWR were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 1B.
Which blockchains is POWR on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum.
