What does holding JPYC let you do?

JPYC is a yen-denominated stablecoin intended to represent ¥1 per token. Holding it gives you a token for on-chain transfers and other uses where JPYC is accepted—not a share in a company or an automatic right to interest. You may be able to use it for yen-valued payments, exchange it for other tokens, or provide liquidity on a supported decentralized finance service. Those uses depend on the service, chain and token version; acceptance is not universal.

JPYC is designed to track the yen, not the US dollar. Its dollar value therefore moves with the yen’s exchange rate, and the token can also trade away from its intended peg. If you hold JPYC, check whether you can actually use or redeem it through the route you have in mind, rather than assuming every wallet or exchange supports it.

Which chains and wallets can hold JPYC?

JPYC is issued on Ethereum, Kaia, Avalanche and Polygon. To hold it yourself, use a wallet that supports the specific network and token contract you plan to receive. A wallet showing one JPYC token may not automatically show tokens on another chain, and a transfer to the wrong network can leave funds difficult or impossible to recover.

JPYC may appear in different versions or under different contract addresses. Before receiving or sending it, check the chain and contract against JPYC’s official information and confirm that your exchange or app supports that exact version. With a self-custody wallet, protect the recovery phrase offline and never share it; losing it can mean losing access. A custodial exchange may hold the keys for you, but then withdrawals and access depend on the exchange’s rules. Wallet compatibility alone does not guarantee that a service will accept deposits or let you redeem the token.

How much JPYC exists, and what supports its peg?

JPYC’s circulating and total supply were both about 12.98 billion tokens as of November 8, 2026. No maximum supply is published. Issuance and redemption can change how many tokens circulate, so supply figures should be treated as snapshots rather than fixed limits.

JPYC is described as backed 1:1 by Japanese yen deposits and Japanese government bonds. The token is intended to stay near ¥1, but that target is not a guarantee that you can always trade at exactly that value or redeem instantly. JPYC’s quoted price was about $0.0063 on November 8, 2026; the dollar figure reflects the yen’s exchange rate as well as any market deviation from the peg. Check current redemption terms, eligibility and availability before relying on a token balance as cash. A stablecoin’s reserve backing does not make it the same as an insured bank deposit.

How do you get JPYC, and what does moving it cost?

You may encounter JPYC through the issuer’s issuance or redemption process, or on a crypto platform that supports the token. Availability, identity checks, payment methods and eligibility can depend on your location and the service. JPYC’s specific redemption conditions and charges are not published in the facts here, so check the issuer’s current terms before treating redemption as assured. Do not assume that a token bought on a secondary market can be redeemed through every route.

Transfers require the network’s native token to pay gas. Fees vary with network demand and are separate from the amount of JPYC you send; there is no single fixed JPYC transfer fee. Moving JPYC between chains may also involve a bridge fee and added smart-contract or bridge risk. Confirm the destination network and token version before sending, and test with a small transfer if appropriate. A transfer is generally hard to reverse once confirmed.

What could go wrong while you hold JPYC?

JPYC depends on an issuer and the assets supporting its yen peg. The issuer is described as operating under a Type II Funds Transfer Service license, but that does not make JPYC a bank deposit or establish that every holder has the same direct redemption rights. Reserve quality, redemption access, issuer operations and changes in applicable rules can all affect your ability to use the token or maintain its peg.

You also face ordinary crypto risks: a smart-contract flaw, thin trading liquidity, exchange failure, a bridge exploit or sending tokens over an unsupported network. Centralized issuance can make the issuer’s rules and operations material to your access; check what powers and redemption procedures apply before holding a large balance. Verify the exact contract through official JPYC channels, and be wary of unsolicited offers, lookalike tokens and claims of guaranteed returns. A yen peg reduces one kind of price uncertainty; it does not remove these risks.

When did JPYC start, and why are there several versions?

JPYC was described in October 2025 as a yen-denominated stablecoin designed to maintain a 1:1 relationship with the Japanese yen. The token is issued across Ethereum, Kaia, Avalanche and Polygon, giving holders several blockchain environments in which to use it. The available launch information does not establish a single original launch date for every JPYC version, so check the specific contract and version you are dealing with.

The project’s issuance and redemption model, rather than mining, is central to how the token supply works. As tokens are issued or redeemed, the circulating amount can change. For you, the practical takeaway is to treat chain support, contract version and redemption access as separate checks: a token carrying the JPYC name is not automatically interchangeable across networks or services. The yen denomination also means its value in dollars will vary as exchange rates move.

JPY Coin in numbers

JPY Coin (JPYC) is ranked #300 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $81.7M and a price of $0.006300 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($81.7M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 0.5% over 7 days, up 0.4% over 30 days, down 3.1% over the past year. It trades about 71% below its all-time high of $0.0214, set on Sep 17, 2026.

About 12.98B JPYC are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.

24-hour trading volume was about $177K, or 0.2% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

JPYC has token contracts on 4 chains we track, including Ethereum, Kaia, Avalanche, Polygon. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups JPYC under Stablecoins.

JPYC FAQs

Is JPYC always worth one Japanese yen?

JPYC is designed to represent ¥1, but its market price can move away from that target and redemption may depend on eligibility and issuer terms. It is not a guarantee of an exact dollar value.

Which networks support JPYC?

JPYC is issued on Ethereum, Kaia, Avalanche and Polygon. Check that your wallet or exchange supports the exact network and token contract before depositing or withdrawing.

Is JPYC backed by yen?

JPYC is described as backed 1:1 by Japanese yen deposits and government bonds. It is not the same as an insured bank deposit, and reserve backing does not guarantee instant redemption for every holder.

What are JPYC transfer fees?

The token itself does not have one fixed transfer fee. You pay the relevant network gas fee, which varies with network conditions; a bridge can add separate costs and risks.

Can I store JPYC in any crypto wallet?

You need a wallet that supports the particular chain and JPYC contract you are using. Check the token version and network before transferring, since tokens on different chains are not automatically interchangeable.

What is the market cap of JPY Coin?
